Can you imagine hitting the road as a nomad with an infant and then an active toddler? Well this female nomad embraced the nomad/van life experience with her young daughter and never looked back. They have traveled 100 thousand miles in 2 years in a Toyota Camry!!
"From mountains to mountains," according to this adventurous mom who not only runs a business, Stich In Time By Sedena on Etsy, from the road but has also home schooled her 4 year old for quite some time giving her a head srart academically. If you ever thought your minivan was too small to travel in you just might want to get some ideas from this no build Toyota Camry turned camper for two. - Zábava
When I was 4 years old: Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, me, the dog, and everything we owned traveled the country in a VW Bug in the 1960’s. Happiest time on our lives, I do believe. We camped by the side of the road. I slept in the back. I have so many wonderful memories of that time that I carried all my life. It taught me courage, curiosity, & love of diversity. There are always kids to play with every where you stop! When Dad finally found a city he liked and we moved out of the car, I cried! I loved my car! Sixty years later, I became a Nomad. Back to my roots! That kid will be FINE!
I love this.
Wow Jessie. I would love to talk to you about your adventures as a child. Would love it if you would reach out to me at:
Gloriouslifeonwheels@gmail.com
You should write a book. I bet it would be a best seller!!
That sounds like an amazing childhood! Glad you got back to your roots.
Wow Jessie that is awesome. Sounds wonderful and so great you are now back to those happy roots!
My mom & dad did this with kids before I was born. They were happy then.
Mom spending quality time with her daughter is priceless. The little girl is blessed not to be stuck in a daycare. The girl is getting a real education. What a lovely family. 🥰
If modern feminism was not so toxic towards men more women could spend time with their children instead our society is taught to have the largest house 2 cars and go on holiday 2 times a year..... 🤔
Talk about learning first hand and having wonderful memories for the future.
I truly enjoy being able to spend so much time with her and help her navigate life. She amazes me more and more each day!
@@nicole41388 love your story 💞💞💞💞
What she is doing is by far the best way homeschooling her kid is the way to go.. better than any public school can
Absolutely!!
It's the best option that works for us! We both love it!
Yes and no. Homeschooling can be fine, but it can also be very damaging. Even the most well-intentioned parents might not realize how isolating and socially stunting it can be to be homeschooled. Being around a group of peers consistently is the entire point of public schooling, not just the facts you learn from the books. I know a lot of people that have spent decades trying to recover from homeschooling.
@@ebaydemonstrations actually you bring up some great points I do agree with you interacting with other kids is definitely why so my only downside to that is the public school mentality where they try to indoctrinate their type of history that type of schooling.. this is my problem with public school this is why I prefer private school or homeschooling..
@@skapunkoialternativeliving6522 Having spent time in public, private, and homeschooling environments, I'm not entirely sure what is meant by "indoctrination." I hear that as a buzzword a lot, and it makes it sound like there is a giant conspiracy that certain teachers have to "trick" our children. Does history inherently come with biases? Absolutely. But history is only a small fraction of what you learn in school, and the debated aspects are an even smaller category therein. Are we really willing to forego something beneficial because 5% of it may or may not be misled?
You pick the most interesting people to feature in your vehicle tours. What a life learning experience for her daughter while working also on her own business! She has arranged the car to work very well for her needs and very impressed. God bless them both.
Thanks Cindi. I really do try to choose people to interview that have not only interesting rigs, but also fascinating stories.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Well you are succeeding. :-) hugs and love and Godspeed!

Refreshing to see a home vehicle organized and functional without all the clutter and junk. Awesome mama and her daughter traveling the country. Much respect and admiration for this little family.
Carol, wonderful tour and interview. Please revisit Sedena again. 🤗☺️👏👍
I certainly hope to dona follow up. There has been a serious development that Sedena will be sharing soon.
Thanks so much! I'm aiming for a more minimalistic life with more experiences. Glad you enjoyed this!
Sorry ut it's organized but it's cluttery it is.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Can you do an update on Sedena/daughter?
I followed her channel for a while, but she "disappeared:. Last I knew, she had wrecked her car & was trying to raise enough money to make her dad's old truck road-worthy...... 😢
And I was worried about becoming a nomad with a 9 year old and in a minivan too! 😂 (A dream at this point) She is Inspiring! What a great way to show her girl a little bit of the world with the added benefit of spending quality time with her mama ♥️
Impressive family! What an adventure... f you ever find yourself in north centepral Kentucky (Elizabethtown area) and need a place to land, our 4-1/2 acres is open to you both. We have a couple of swings and a small play structure for our granddaughters who used to live with us, available for play!!!
That is so nice of you❤
Where can I buy the heating pad?
How does it work? Is it electric?
What Is the name of it?
It was hard for me to hear the pronunciation, is it called Ergodry?
Thank you
So nice of you
@@terrace1 I bought one on clearance at Walmart for $15, just over a year ago. Plugs into the lighter. Gave it to a guy who does maintenance on my truck. Not sure whether or not the brand is on it, but he should be back sometime this week & I’ll check.
What a cool and kind offer of hospitality!!
I couldn’t help but smile at the part when she said her daughter is more comfortable in the car than in a house. This makes absolute sense because the mom also said the baby has been traveling since she was 2 months old! THIS is what the baby knows! It would be amazing for the mom to have a YT channel for her daughter to see as she grows older. You know, like “older” adults show pictures. 🤣🤣🤣. Thank you Carol for sharing.
I am talking to Sedena about starting a channel. I hope she does.
She is definitely my little travel buddy! She even helps me make the itinerary now! The channel has been started and I'm hoping to upload some content very soon! I do have some old videos of my animals if you want to check them out now 🤣
Even if they only posted the videos for their own personal documentation... others have begun just like that!
Great idea!
I think a lot of people would naturally be nomads, but it is hard to do it in the system we live in right now. I'm glad you are doing this.
🤔 Says the really weird looking guy who kinda resembles a serial killer. 👀 You can look up serial killers and rapists and see photos of real serial killers, a lot if them have that same look. That's also just my opinion but weirdos do be lurking and some have that look and be completely harmless also, facts are facts. 🥸 Anyone who doesn't agree that people easily get killed doing this must not watch the news or do reserch. 🤨
This is precious time for these two. Good luck to them.
This video and these comments are giving me LIFE!!! I’m about to be a single mom with my 2 month old baby and I refuse to put my baby in childcare and I refuse to pay these outrageous rent prices (also I can’t afford it). But I was worried about child services being called on me….. this gives me so much hope and validating my intuition that it’s the right thing to do
There are so many parents and single moms traveling on the road with children. If you need suggestions on the necessary equipment, etc. feel free to reach out to me at Gloriouslifeonwheels@gmail.com or join in on my weekly live chat Saturdays 3p pst
Good luck.
I agree...real life is the best education you can get in addition to books. Most kids just get to see places on the computer or in books but Iya is getting to see things in person. That is really valuable plus she gets to spend tons of time with her mother & isn't being raised by someone else 🥰
I agree. How cool is it that this little girl gets to see so many things first hand and with her mom!
I truly love that she gets real life, hands on experiences in everything that we do. She's met so many people of different walks of life too. This ambitious girl is going places in her future!
I'm a former teacher 25 year's of experience in Early Childhood Education. She's at the perfect age where she will remember her adventures of traveling, learning and exploring. 👍 I doubt if she can recall the first 2 1/2 years. They have everything they need and they're both seem to be very happy. She has many precious moments to cherish with her daughter on the road. May God continue to bless and place his angels of protection around their car.👍🙏 I wish my kids would do it for my grandchildren. 😃
Can you imagine all the adventures this child will have to cherish. I still have fond memories from a car trip I took with my aunt and uncle when I was 8, over 60 years ago!!
This is homelessness, not van life. Americans are trying to glamorize the poor, instead of helping them.
I agree we have to keep a sound mind about this.
A little travel is a great thing. Always being on the road in a confined space for a little one is not healthy. No consistency in people other than mom.
What is going to happen as she grows up? She has no space away from mom.
I thank you for your rational, kind comment.
I think we can be kind, supportive without being irrationally naive.
We don’t know what the situation with her own mother looks like.
Some parents do not want their kids/ grandchildren living with them. That sounds weird to some, but it’s reality.
I wish the best for this lovely lady and her child, to find stability.
Stability is still very important for a child’s development.
There is a big difference between choosing to live and travel in a vehicle when you have other options and being forced to do so with no other options. Poverty is not glamorous. I know as I experienced it as a child. The purpose of this channel is not to glamorize poverty, but rather to share people's experiences and in some cases their courage and resilience despite having meager means and few choices.
And put their children at risk which is much worse. Child protective services needs to change some of their guidelines or laws need to be changed or something because it's ignorant of our government to not react.
As a kid I drove all over the country with my Dad. The best years of my childhood!
Wow. What an amazing experience for you!!
It is great that this works for them. I have 2010 Camry. As a 60+, non-petite female, I can’t imagine living in it full-time. I would not be able to walk. But, good gas mileage and long running vehicle’s.
Camrys are like the Energizer bunny. They just keep going and going and going🤣
It's actually quite comfortable if you can get the right height of the platform. Camry's have great gas mileage and they last forever! This is the second one I've owned.
A fellow nomad mama! 🥰 can’t wait to cross paths
I would love to see more Nomad Mom's or Dad's in CZcams. That would be great. Heck or even grands!!
Catch you on the road!
WOW ! this is AWESOME. Thrilled for this Mom & her darling daughter. What a fabulous life they have ! And a wonderful education for this precious child !
After spending an entire day with this family I can tell you from my observations this child is loving her life.
Thanks so much! She definitely learns a lot on the road!
I admire this lady. She is doing a great job for both of them.
Thanks! 😊
Hands on learning what an experience!
The best kind of learning!
I'm sorry. But this not stability for a child, nor her Mother. This is homelessness. I've looked at loads of these types of videos, and this setup appears very different. And unfortunately, and very sadly, it appears different, and not in a good way. Of course children are exceedingly happy when they are with their primary caregiver; as long as Mom is there, all is right with the world. Kids have the amazing ability to play, even in war torn countries.
Stability is not on a house? It is in the constant ongoing care of a consistent and living caregiver that the child.knows will always he there. Also, it is in knowing one is safe. This child feels both of those things. Certainly this lifestyle is not for everyone But, they do have a homebase with the grandmother in between travels.
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 , stability requires so many things Ma'am, to include stable housing. My concern is that we are normalizing homelessness, rather than addressing the issues that contribute to it, whether that is more affordable housing, access to mental health services, and/or, paying folks a livable wage. I am a LCSW and a mental health therapist, and I promise you that adults who experienced homelessness and instability as children, have so many challenges. I know she has her grandmother, and it's great to have that support. But what if that support wasn't there? I really, really wish them all the best, and my hope is that the Mother gets sustainable help and/or treatment, so that she and her daughter will have more options.
@@sharonb.4512 I agree with you, this is quite different from Van Living, they are prepared and have adequate cooking, hygeine & sleeping. This just seems exactly as you said, homelessness and it isn't good for the child nor the mother.
If always thought when I get on the road I will store all of my clothes, towels, etc. in pillowcases. It just makes sense to me to have a bunch of decorative pillows around, rather than boxes or bags or stuff hanging. Thanks for the video!
It makes such sense. Thanks for stopping by.
Beautiful, simple life. Its all about attitude, and not about possessions. You have it figured out. Thankyou for sharing.
What an amazing mom! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
So inspiring to watch! Great mom and daughter to see and listen to their story!! 🥰
Impressed with Sedena for taking control of her life, not waiting and providing Awsome opportunities for her daughter.
I was impressed too Simply C!
Its so liberating just choosing to live your life how you want it and where you want it!
Nice meeting this family.
I couldn’t help but be defensive. Please forgive me GLOW. As a mom who is about to be full throttle into this lifestyle, I understand judgement but I don’t like pure misjudgment and poor accusations. My 2 year old also does better in the car. She likes it. I’ll be starting homeschooling as well. When she can go to the Boys and Girls club, I’ll allow her to go there but I don’t trust the daycare’s nor the school system AT ALL. If she ask to go I will allow her but I will pull her out as soon as some BS happens that isn’t reconciled. The American school system really sucks and socializing isn’t a good enough reason to allow my child to endure the BS of the school system. And many of us don’t want vans nor RVs. We are happy with our cars ❤️
I can sure share some terrible.stories.about the school system in this country, especially for special needs kiddos. Good luck as you head out. I hope we meet up one day. You can reach me @ Gloriouslifeonwheels@gmail.com should you ever he interested in me doing an interview with you.

Another interesting interview of an amazing mama living a nomadic life with her young daughter. Cheers!
What an adventure. Bet this child.grows up to he a confident young woman.
For 3 months me my ex our 4 children and our mini doxie went on an “extended road trip” to find where we wanted to lay down new roots. It was an amazing time in our lives. Went to a new place and a new park every other day, and would wake up making breakfast like any other, eggs, bacon toast, on a camper grill…seeing all the different places. It was amazing. Our children were 2, 3, 4, & 5.
I bet your kids will remember and treasure those times forever!

What a beautiful place you live in you lucky soul. Welcome to GLOW🤗
Good morning from Fiji lsland Labasa. Happy Sunday. I like this video please more videos.
Love that they are doing this adventure. My concern is Child Welfare and their idiocy, whereby they think such a life is wrong and could take her into foster care. Our society is so judgmental.
But, I love this great adventure she is on. Glad she has a home base with her Mom. May their journey continue for years to come.
Would like to see her fix the back seats so that they can both lie flat at night. Being fully flat, or neat so is necessary for the brain to clear toxins and for the kidneys and other organs to rest. To include the heart.
Great job choice. Amazing what opportunities the internet provides us if we choose a mobile life. Had no idea that a sewing machine could be powered with such a small power amount. Good to know.
Thanks for sharing.
Makes me wish she would have won Bob’s van at the RTR.
If she removes the back part of the back seat (on the side where she sleeps), she could slide her feet into the trunk area, giving herself a full stretch. Could set up the same for her daughter via across the top hammock or platform.
Love, love, love this mother/daughter adventure.

I love the nomad life but with a small child I don't know. I worry about her socialization, friendships, lifetime friendships, emotional development. Children need other children and various adult figures.
There are many families on the road with children and I know for a fact that this little family has spent considerable time with other nomads with children, in oerson unlike a lot of children whose only social contact is online.
This is absolutely NO good for the upbringing of a 4 year old. Adults can do whatever they think fit but making a gypsy lifestyle for the kid sounds like irresponsible.
I would rather see a happy well adjusted child who is curious and engaging in a vehicle than one glued to a computer day and night in a house any day.
good for you guys!
Best times I remember are from my childhood with my older parents (45 when I was born) and we camped everywhere it seemed all over California, Nevada, Arizona, Mexico in a VW van, 6-pack camper van, tent.

Quite an adventure! Very organized in such a small space. I admit I worried for them when reading the title. Although they seem content, I could see them in a minivan for some extra room and ease of daily activities.
She is looking for other options out of necessity as someone hit the car rendering it a total wipeout. I am looking forward to seeing what they choose next to continue their adventure. Thank goodness they were both unharmed.
Great interview Ms.Carol. Sedena and her daughter are so well adjusted to their nomad life. And I think it's wonderful she is educating her while they travel. There are a few CZcamsr who live in their cars, & say it would be more difficult & more expensive to do what they do in a bigger vehicle. Some folks are more comfortable with less, & that’s why they’re in their cars. Most their subs don’t listen, tho.
Due to unexpected circumstances they are moving to a different vehicle. Tune in for HLOE LIVE today @3pm to find out what.
It would be nice if you got a nice van. That way, you wouldn't have to go outside to cook. The two of you could dock for the night and be safe. You could set up your work station and her homeschooling station. On days that you want to sleep in you could and she would have more space to move around.
Circumstances have pushed Sedena to change vehicles. Learn about it on the GLOW Saturday Live @ 3pm 4/9
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Was this video made Miss Gloria? I can't find it....maybe I'm overlooking it.
Edit: I found it!!💗
Nice! I wish I had documented my time living on the road with my daughter. I miss it, I just wasn't mentally healthy at the time. Best wishes!! I wish I homeschooled my kids.
Documented or not you still have the memories. Hopefully some happy ones.
Really interesting.......Two in a Camry
One and a half 🤣
What does that kid know to say it’s “perfect” what to compare it (life) with? That’s all she knows.
Yes, it is what she knows and apparently is a happy experience for her.
Wow I am so proud of that Mom she is so organized and clean and she is making her money on the way as they go and teaching the child what an example what a good example you are keep going keep going God bless you and your daughter. And thank you glow for showing this video again
Thanks so much!
Some people are so incredibly resourceful.
That's great. I've been thinking I'd like to try that in my Honda fit. I'm pushing 70. Where would I go first any pointers? My home base is a 19 ft travel trailer which I can't pull with a trav. Trailer. Wish you had a small van. Just saying. Good travels to you.
Wow, how I wish I had done something like this with my children. You can’t not have fun learning this way! My only question is, why not a van instead? I’m guessing as the little girl grows that will become necessary, but for now, that’s awesome!
I like to use what i already have until that doesn't work anymore. We have plans of upgrading very soon!
I got goose bumps watching. Soooo proud of this mom n her adventure with her child. Way to go mom- you guys are living your best life. Be blessed!
We truly are!
