  • Does anyone even buy DVD players anymore? I thought people stream on Netflix. DVDs are on sale for $1 each at garage sales. I even threw out some of my DVDs recently. But here you have an actual DVD player with a screen for sale. There might be a niche demand for this?

    "Who has DVDs anyway"? I do, and use them regularly. I also use and enjoy VHS, Betamax, and Laserdisc.

    I still watch my DVDs. And I love them. I didn't spend thousands and thousands of dollars on my DVDs just to stop watching them.

      I think the main thing that stops me is the video quality standard is 1080p and up these days. Only if you care about video resolution though.

      @louisborselio8608 I 100% agree. I bought one today, a second hand one for camping trips to watch my DVDS on trips and at home when I like. I have DVDS I have wanted to watch in my collection and couldn't. I spent money on them to store them which is what has happened. I disagree with the reviewer because I am in the UK and they still sell new and old.
      Also for camping no one wants a huge monitor or something of more value that could be stolen with more information on like laptops

      Good point. But the screen is terribly small. One might opt to use a laptop to not have a separate appliance.

    I use DVD because streaming is too expensive. And you don’t get your money’s worth for it. Because the corporations keep sending their popular shows to the Shadow Realm.

    Owning physical media is the only way to watch unedited or un altered content. Politics of the day dictate what streams.

    This player doesn't seem too bad, but I believe there are better ones out there.
    Also, just because something isn't as new as something used these days, it doesn't mean it's bad. It's one of the reasons why I think the disk format and various older video games and media are still cool.

    • @BeatTheBushDIY
      @BeatTheBushDIY  Před 11 dny

      Physical media takes up space and this requirement limits easy instant access and maximum number in your library. I no longer own this product or even an actual DVD or even a Bluray player.

    • @PKSuperStar256
      @PKSuperStar256 Před 11 dny

      @@BeatTheBushDIY, if that was an issue, you could use certain things to organize them with little space taken like sorting and using binders.
      Unless you have shelves made to hold many disk cases.
      But hey, you do you. I just think disks are neat.

      The 3.5mm 4 conductor jack outputs to RCA jacks. So it uses older style RCA jacks for audio video output.

    lol !!! not everything is on netflix, than you have to continue to pay a subscripton or what if power goes out? You can own the dvds and play them anywhere, think about it, your so young and really dont know what your talking about

  • @sogerc1

    So are BluRay disks any better than CDs or DVDs? I've never tried BluRays because DVDs kept failing on me even though I wrote them on the lowest speed possible. I still have a DVD player in my car though.
    BTW, why not buy this product, it's good for roadtrips, something you're not very sad about if it breaks or gets stolen.

    • @BeatTheBushDIY
      @BeatTheBushDIY  Před 2 lety +1

      BluRay has higher density and a harder outer coating than DVDs. Hence I cannot use the same sanding polishing method to remove scratches on a bluray.
      Roadtrips... I guess that'll work.
