  • My review of the ‪@QSCAudioProducts‬ KS118 Subwoofer. In my opinion this subwoofer boasts the best combination of earth shaking bass, build quality, and price in a mobile friendly design making it perfect for a mobile DJ, a/v production company, and other mobile audio applications. If I had to give this subwoofer a star rating it would be 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    13:48 Why I Chose QSC KS118 over other options
    16:38 Summary and Conclusion
    The QSC KS-118 is a compact, lightweight, mobile friendly subwoofer with the powerful punch from an 18inch woofer and 3600w peak class - D amplification producing an impressive 136dB peak output. Digital features on the sub include Delay, cardioid mode, led controls, DEEP mode, crossover and more. Physical controls and inputs allow two combo XLR/F 1/4in combo, input gain control, 2 XLR M outputs with selectable crossover, digital display, included casters, and a locking IEC power input. The covers for these subs are also very well made with thick padding all the way around and a hard insert (assuming plastic) at the top to protect the grille during transport.

    Thanks for the video! I came close to getting these but I ended up getting 2 KS212C primarly due to size. And the Cardioid caught me off guard too the first time I used them.

      I believe I saw the regular KS112's at the expo, definately a much smaller format but imo didn't go deep enough to make it worth bringing a sub or paying for one for a 12 inch. I'm sure the cardiod is very pronounced on those since its within the cabinet.

    Great video and congrats on your purchase. I was looking at getting a pair of ks118’s, but found the LD Icoa 18’s last minute which are (imo) similar in volume, but seem to hit lower. I ended up getting a set for $1900 shipped. Best JB!

      Yes the ld systems subwoofer 18 icoa is no joke

      Honestly you really can’t compare the two, specs alone the qsc packs about 50% more peak power and 3db higher peak, certainly it hits slightly higher but keep in mind beyond the fact that it is a on paper larger sub, the warranty also has value. If the LD’s work for you great! I personally dont like to push my gear super hard unlessits a really large gig a few times a year and these subs shake my eyeballs while djing

    Hi bud. I'm planning to buy a pair of QSC K 10.2 tops to use in a 40 sq. meter space, mostly for personal use but I might throw the occasional party for 20 people max. Will this pair well with the K 10.2 or it would it be overkill? Also do you think one sub would be enough for such a moderate size space or should I go for a pair of KS112 instead? Thank you so much in advance 🙏

    I'm curious if the QSC KS 118 is the best sub-bass up to 50 kg? JBL srx 818p or the identical model srx918 and Yamaha dxs 18 XLF. I wonder who actually wins.

      Well I only know the weight in freedoms 🦅, but I am personally not a fan of JBL I had a prx something years ago and it was heavy and did well but not great output. I haven't been impressed with yamaha I wouldn't even consider the comparison, I will say the KS118 puts out a whole lot of bass for around 100lbs and is easy for me a smaller guy to move on my own

    how do you bypass the crossover to use an external crossover? and qsc won't tell what filters and slopes are being forced to used? needing a way to turn off that internal crossover?

    • @DJALEXBROWN
      @DJALEXBROWN  Před měsícem

      I agree as mentioned in the video I would like to be able to disable crossover, but you can do this by running through your top speakers first then out to the subs, if I am understanding correctly what you are asking

      Not exactly. I'm looking to highs from my driverack and lows from my driverack with all internal processing disabled/ off.

    • @DJALEXBROWN
      @DJALEXBROWN  Před měsícem

      @@FreeKeenan If you send a clean signal in, it would only apply factory processing I believe

    • @FreeKeenan
      @FreeKeenan Před měsícem +1

      What is factory processing? Is that full range with no filters meaning crossover completely out? That's what I need. Are you saying the crossover only kicks in from the output or thru jacks?
      Junk qsc should just have the option to turn off the crossover like in the k12.2.

      If I said 15 in the video then bb15 version 3 I believe

    The subwoofer is good, but it breaks down very often. Mine has already been in for repairs three times in two years. The problem is always with the power supply. It's a very unreliable product.

    • @DJALEXBROWN
      @DJALEXBROWN  Před měsícem +1

      Been running mine for 9 months now haven’t had any issues if its issues with the power supply the amp may have a defect but I would be surprised if they hadnt figured it out yet
