  • I'm going to show you THE technique that improved my animation the most once I understood its potential. This principle is crucial to making great animations, many of you may already be familiar with it as I was. For me initially, there was a big difference between understanding it and knowing how to apply it effectively in my own projects.
    ✨Link to the course: www.benmarriott.com/
In the very 1st lesson of my Master Motion Design course, I'll not only be breaking down all the 12 principles of animation but also helping to elevate your work to another level through these 2 steps:
    1. Fully understand each principle; 2. solidify your knowledge with practical projects.
That way, it lays a solid foundation for our lessons & practices later on in the course. From there, we will then be looking at how to develop an efficient workflow, get creative for your project, character animation.
If you've got any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, I'll do my best to help!

Hi Ben, congrats on your course! What I am most excited to learn in the course is to understand the WHY. I hope to become better at problem solving and surprise the client, art director and even myself more instead of just making the deadline with blood, sweat and lots of tears. I have already learned so much from your channel about the WHAT and the HOW. I am going to enjoy the WHY and promise to label all my layers if I win the pass :-)

I'm most excited about knowing and better understanding all the different options of the software, because I mostly use the basics I've remembered from animation channels or just the things I've come up by myself while exploring AE - which is enough for my compositing but I'd love to finally take another step further. I rely on tutorials from this channel for over a year and it's easy to say that it has opened my mind to so many creative things I can do with motion design (because I used to do only traditional frame by frame character animations before). It would really expand my knowledge and prepare me for the future job as an animator. Plus Ben Mariott's videos just have the right vibe to you know, inspire to try new things and break the comfort zone (for me - trying something more geometrical and simple while still keeping it interesting)! Thanks for what you do!

I can't wait to take this course! I've been following your updates about it for a while and knew before you ever announced the guest teachers that I was going to enroll, but that info really sweetened the pot! I'm most excited to learn how you go about the finishing touches of your animations. I often feel I can achieve satisfying motion, but the composition of all the elements on screen lack the cohesive look of other professional mograph artists. Knowing how you approach your work and what steps you prioritize towards the wrapping up of a project will really help on my end!

Hi Ben, I've been following you for quite a while, you've been helping me by each video i get to watch, how to be a better animator, and to also be more playful with it too, and open up more my eyes, in my case, im learning animation with youtube, so basically you and other youtubers taught me everything i know and im looking forward to keep learning, if i were to win this course, i feel that what ill be more insterested in is on transitions and cuts, editing is super easy for me because im an editor, thats my thing but in editing most of the time if find the solution with a cut, we dont "create" the cut, but here you have to know a lot of transitions and know how to use each and for what, so basically thats what im the most excited about.

Honestly, the things I'm most looking forward to in this course are the aspects of motion design that take work from good to magnificent. It can be frustrating when you get into a "comfort rut" where your produce work that's good, but limited by what you know. It's even more frustrating when you realize how much better your work could be if you only knew just a few elusive, handy concepts or a different perspective / mindset.

I have problems with following workflow and structured learning in a traditional setting even with help from the disability team of the school I attended, so I’d love to give myself a better chance of being able to follow structured learning in this manner - being able to ask specific questions without holding up a class, pausing and rewatching, the weekly breakdown of clear learning outcomes, it all makes me feel really optimistic. I'm working as a graphic designer and do some motion design as well, however I mostly rely on a few plugins and youtube tutorials. In theory I know the principles of animation, but as you said - it's one thing to understand, it's another to know how to apply it. I feel like I'm stuck and even though there are some cool tutorials out there, I found out that the crucial thing in the learning process is feedback from a pro. This is something that I really miss and to me, this is the most exciting part of this course!

Finally a course from THE master of 2D animation! I am looking to learn how you structure the projects, how you deal with multiple precomps, how you set tranzitions, how you deal with sound and music and most important how you get the ideas that make the animation. Thanks! Looking forward to this! 🙏🏻👏🏻

It is amazing to see the new course Ben, I am most looking forward to learning more advanced concepts to take a simple/stale animation and turn it into something that could have feeling, that could have story and that has a purpose.

I think you are such a wonderful teacher! You explain everything so thoroughly and with examples. The thing(s) I'm most looking forward to in this course is to have the opportunity to learn more in depth motion skills from a tutor that I know will deliver comprehensive, understandable and inspiring lessons. You've helped me develop my skills so much and I know this course will be AMAZING!
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your content. X

What I'm hoping to learn from the course is just how to make my motion smooth and fluid whilst building my confidence to animate more. Your youtubr videos have already helped me a lot. Your course will help me so much more. Thank you for everything.

Strangely enough I never thought I would get into Motion design. When I first took a Form and Motion class in college during my second year, I thought it was tedious and hard to understand within just 15 weeks of classes. But since then I have had your channel to help me, and slowly have grown to love how motion can change the user experience to such a degree. I want to do the same for my designs. What I’m most looking forward to in this course is simple: to learn the different layers of motion, and to understand WHY and HOW it exceeds in attracting the eyes of its viewers.

I'm actually most excited for workflow optimization in animation. Skills like knowing the 12 principles and having a great eye for timing and aesthetics are one thing, but knowing how to work efficiently and knowing when to do what or how to tackle a certain problem or task is something that is overlooked a lot of times!
