    You are the only channel I've seen that actually delves into the Amnesia lore so deeply!
    All the others are just basic summaries and miss key details.
    You are (imo) the best Amnesia CZcamsr out there!

      Thank you so much, considering the amount of Content Creators who cover Amnesia hearing that is an honour
      I try to be thorough for the most part or at least show something interesting that varrants making a video about it

    I always felt that the fallen civilization was reminiscent of Aztec culture and designs, but seemingly much more powerful and high-tech with distinct brutalist flare compared to the irl counterpart. It's mentioned how there are multiple portals across the world to this realm, but my specuguessation that it's primarily latin somehow, especially considering their propensity for rituals.

    13:15 It frustrates me so much that the empress flat out ignores the doctor's bargain for no reason. Why her original offer to trade Tasi's child isn't available when she is right there with someone willing to give the child to her is baffling.
    Given the knowledge of the 3 endings, Tasi is betrayed even if she gives up the child because she has the seer stones to control Ghouls. So if she were to take the baby from the doctor, she could just use that while both of them are there. No no need to have a drawn out confrontation with Tasi.
    I can only speculate that she rejects the doctor because she dislikes his callous/heartless decision to ensure his own survival and deny Tasi her own child. But that isn't true. She never intended to save any of them even if they took her offer. She only wanted the baby and by any means necessary.
    Seems like a contrived plot point to allow Tasi the final decision and needlessly killing the doctor, further taking agency from any players who didn't want to kill him in a cutscene. This game did a lot well visually and mechanically, but it really loses the plot in the final 3rd of the story. Hoping the next Amnesia game uses what was learned in the Bunker with a better story

      I think the reason why she ignores him is that he too is doomed and can no longer be saved, she dropped the Crew the moment Tasi refused for the first time and had them all drink the water
      The Doctor in this moment also pleads for her to "change them" and to lift this curse, which see is seemingly unable to as never was there ever a mention of a cure and there likely were no efforts ever made to create one
      for one reason or another the Doctors Ghoul affliction has not progressed as far as it did with the other members, perhaps his academical background let him to a more composed state of assessment, plus a possible supply of Laudanum might have enabled him to stave off the effects for longer, but he too is not immune and knows what´s in his future if he does not find a cure, it is also not said what Tasis fate will be if she manages to get back to Paris
      Tasis killing of the Doctor, as well as her killing of Fairchild I don´t see as agency being taken away and more of a solidification, that this condition is not something awesome that prevents a game over but a grievous affliction that will with time take everything away from her and from the perspective of the Empress, waiting it out actually helps her, she has no need for Metzier and Tasi, so if they kill each other off it might help her tie up some loose ends

      @@umukzusgelos4834 Still strange that she would leave it to fate to let them kill eachother when she has the stones that can control Ghouls and they are both in the same room. The doctor might want to bargain for a cure, the same way Tasi wants to bargain for her child's safety, but she could easily take it into her own hands to control both of them and prevent any unforseen issues (Like leaving Tasi with her infant alone and unsupervised and deciding to escape). Her benevolent gestures to Tasi don't make any sense when she is proven to not care for her at all, and she has the ability to take the kid herself the moment she steps into the room. Unless she is physically incapable of carrying the baby to the crib (which she could just have any ghoul do that) it's just silly

      @@GhostHostGames well,
      looking at the Personality of the Empress it seems she has a distaste to being told off, with tricking the crew into drinking the water could be seen as a gesture of spite before everything else, she may tell herself that it was all for the survival of the infant but in the end the Empress simply wanted her will be done, one must not forget she´s lived in isolation for centuries and has sapped off the lives of hundreds of people, coming from a society that views mankind beneath them, coupled with her hyperfixation on having Children and her isolation I think it is safe to assume that Tihanas actions and morals are those of an Isolated Child in a rusted golden Cage who knows the world from a tiny window and who has rarely been told off
      in short, she is unhinged with a queenly exterior that warrants courtesy gestures

    • @d00mnoodle
      @d00mnoodle Před měsícem +1

      Maybe she has a little bit of empathy towards a mother and wants tasi to be able to say goodbye to her kid. She probably thinks that escape is impossible for tasi and she has no indcation of knowing that tasi can sabotage her with kita's concoction

      @GhostHostGames
      @umukzusgelos4834
      The Empress and her society had a well developed sense of their own morality, for example they justified the Vitae extraction as a necessary evil.
      The empress justified taking Amari as a way to save her from death, rather than admitting that she wanted a child, and son offered them a deal, which Tasi refused. The Empress justified it to herself by acting as if she was saving the child from Tasi by turning them into Harvesters. She doesn't go against Tasi and lets her see Amari, until Tasi takes Amari, whereupon she works to "save Amari from her"
      But in the Harvester ending, she eases Tasi into "oblivion" and apologizes as if she didn't do it in the first place. She is acting the part of a reluctant savior to delude herself into believing she's a good person. As to Metzier, she did yet at Tasi to stop, so it's possible Tihana was waiting for Tasi to come, say her goodbye, and then "ease them into oblivion" as Harvesters. It's also possible she disapproved of his actions and decider to let him die/turn naturally.
      The logic she uses doesn't make sense, but she is not a rational player as of now, she's desperately trying to secure her dream of having a child, yet tries to hold onto the belief she is a paragon of decency.
      Remember, she's been stuck to the ceiling and residing over a destroyed world for at least a century, and far more likely for at least 1,500 years. She could ponder her regrets and mistakes for countless hours. She's not acting rationally, she's not a cold psychopath, she's a selfish monster trying to delude herself that she is a maternal goddess.

    Any chance you might look at the game Still Wakes The Deep? They do a good job of obscuring the monsters, so somebody getting a good look at them would be neat.
    There might also be some lore diving potential with the weird stuff happening in the latter chapters of the game.

    Now I wanna see you look over stuff in the game Scorn by Ebb Software. A lot of stuff in that game is explained by the Artbook, which is good because there is no dialogue at all, no text or lore tablets, just you in a strange and hostile world. Fair warning if you do check it out, assuming you don't know about it already, it is very gross, very fleshy, and also has very...demonitizing scenes and visuals.
