Plane spotting is great at O'Hare. You can park right at the end of teh runway and wave to the passengers and see them wave back with glasses of course.
I was a production manager in final assembly on the MD11 in Long Beach for 6 years before I moved to the 777 in Everett, WA just after the merger in 1997. My time on the MD11 was probably the most fun I had in my long aerospace career. It was crazy but fun.

Was a Flight Dispatcher in Production Flight Test at MDC from 1986 to 2002 Bldg 15 on the Flight Ramp. Dispatched all those aircraft comming off the production line including the C17.
Capt Steve, sure enjoy your videos. As an A&P mechanic I worked at Delta at DFW for a few years. Part of the at the terminal line over night and early mornings was great. Always loved the B757 and the whine of it's engines.
Hi Captain Steve , I just found your channel and I really enjoy it. I enjoy the commentary and the way you identify the aircraft and airport code. Thanks
In the mid-1980's I was a ramp agent at IAD for NY Air. During the lull times, I'd watch the aircraft depart. My favorite was the Northwest Orient 757, with its red tail and near vertical takeoff.
Prior to 9/11, I worked at PDX as a "Ramp Agent" for ATS, and we had a 5:45AM TWA flight that came in from Anchorage every morning. She was a 757 as well, wanted I lived the sound of those engines spooling up as we pushed back. The gate was always at the very end of an "alley" of terminals that makes up the central part of PDX. Because of that, we would typically push back and push her all the way out of the alley, but occasionally we were able to just push back and spin her so she was able to pull out under her own power, and boy do those babies have power. The sound, vibration, and wind that it created was awe inspiring. Anyway, I think that got was my favorite because people were always coming home with moose, elk, deer, bear, etc all mounted up by some amazing taxidermists. Also loads of coolers full of salmon and fishing poles. That God those pits were big enough to just about stand up inside of them. Way more room than the MD-80, LOL. Anyway, just brought back a lot of memories watching this and I can easily say that my job at the airport was hands down one of the best and most favorite jobs I've ever had. If I hadn't of injured myself (not at work) it's probably still be there, 20+ years later. 🤷♂️
@@CaptainStevenMarkovich thank you! I just reread it and noticed that my speech to text totally messed up a couple parts. Specifically where I said she was a 757 as well.. should have said and I loved the sound of the engines spooling up as we pushed back. Not sure where "wanted I lived" came from, LOL. The second one is where I said "anyway I think that got was my favorite..." Got was supposed to be "flight." And finally, where I said "that God those pits.." should have said "thank God those pits." Anyway, just wanted to point out that I'm not that illiterate. LOL. I would edit and correct them but it would remove your like. I appreciate the video and that you took time to put this together for everybody to watch. Thank you so much!
@28.33, Found this channel today. Subscribed just for this! Great plane spotting and great commentaries Captain! Tampa. The city where my family lives. I need to transfer to TPA from BOS one of these days so you can record me brake-riding those Delta airliners :-)
That Fedex landing at 6:20 was perfection!! I just started plane spotting, just learned that it was a thing and I’m on a mission to get a photograph of all of the Southwest, JetBlue, and frontier liveries. I’ve gotten quite a few in a couple weeks that I’ve been doing it and TPA is absolutely my favorite airport to do it from. There are so many different angles that you can get. Your voice and commentary during the video reminds me of listening to the radio announcers for the Red Sox games in my grandfather’s car.

Great Video 📸 Thank you for sharing... One of my passions as well, plane spotting from my front porch. I get a lot of air traffic to and from Atlanta. I'm just south of Atlanta out in the country and can see the takeoff lights on the planes as they are heading south/Southwest...
I used to fly into TPA back when I was flying the 737. Even back then TPA was a great airport to fly in and out of. Today, TPA is a lot larger than 30 years ago with added runways and concourses.

Hey Capt Steve, you know there is nothing more beautiful than listening to those LEAP-1B engines winding up for launch and watching the max climb. What a gorgeous aircraft and by far the worlds best airliner, bar none
In its 100 + year history no aircraft manufacturer has built more aircraft than Boeing. Right now, emotionally and spiritually Boeing is going through its worst period. Other manufacturers have manufactured new planes that have had tragic losses. I want to believe Boeing’s management has learned its lesson. Perhaps this explains the delayed 777 X and the pause in the 787 project. Boeing is building the 767 air frame at a good clip. More people have gone more places and flown more miles safely on Boeing aircraft than any other.
The LEAP engine is very efficient and powerful but has some annoying limitations. They take at least twice as long to start than the CFMs, the first flight of the day requires a 5 minute warmup period and subsequent 3 minute warmup/cool down periods before starting and shutting down. This creates problems in BUR, LIH, OGG, etc., anywhere that has an adjacent ramp close to the runway. Also, their fan blades are VERY expensive. We ingested a hawk last month and although no abnormal engine indications followed, three fan blades required changing at an astounding cost of $84,000 each or a not so cool $252,000!
Man this reminds me of growing up South of SeaTac in Kent DesMoines, right on the flight path! I did it so much I knew all the different Style of planes. The Flying Tigers 707 was a Screamer lol! Cheers! Great video btw.
