First of all my comments are not hateful they are true! Here in America 🇺🇸 we still have that right to speak the truth. And give the fellow Americans a heads up on crooked places like Walmart that sells child labor products made in China and hidden under A American company that only stores Thees products and ships them to Walmart. Have a nice day y’all 😉

I, like Craig Moan, was overwhelmed by my new to me 10k gallon above ground pool. I got a 30 minute crash coarse on cleaning and chemicals from previous owner so I was very glad to find this video. Your instructions are easy to follow and since I have the same pump/filter equipment as you I now better understand the operation especially the backwash process. Will be looking for a vacuum hookup procedure for this equipment. Thank you for the video. Well done!!

I am a firm believer in liquid chlorine and the tablet being a backup sanitizer.

Jim thank you so much I was doing basically what you do except I have a smaller 15 foot pool and the water was crystal clear til I decided to add algecide now it's all murky so I'm going to drain some water out add fresh and go back to my simple chlorine tablets and baking soda and I shock it twice a month that's really all you need to do I have a skimmer and I put 3, 1inch chlorine tablets in that twice a week and fill my floating basket with baking soda 3 times a week .I also only use the test strips ,as I bought one of those fancy test kits with all the numbered bottles it was not reliable and was riduculous, the test strips are easy, affordable and always accurate. You are so easy to listen to and understand I really enjoy watching you I liked and subscribed,God bless you my new go to pool guy.If any one reads my comment this video is better than any other video if you want simplicity, affordability and crystal clear water everything Jim tells you to do works I know from my own experience, this is the man and the advice to follow.!!!😁🦸💖

I was wondering if I should be doing more but I clean the filter daily and not many people use it so it stays pretty clear and the only thing I notice is the chlorine gets a bit low. Thanks for sharing, your pool is way bigger than mine so its good to know I dont need to waste money on extra chemicals. I like the chlorine low as possible.

Awesome video sir, your methods are accurate, it's very simple once you stabilize the chlorine with the chemistry according to the test strips.

Hi girl yes this is the man to listen to just use chlorine tablets and baking soda that's all you need and a pool with a skimmer and side attaching pump works best.

Hi, that was great advice and your pool water looks excellent! What you could add to your routine is checking the CYA level because you are using di or trichlorine tablets, about half of these tablets is cyanuric acid. Don't let it get higher than 35 or so would be my advice. And if your water ever gets dirty and it isn't crystal clear anymore use a floculant. I use flovil tablets that are very effective. I live in an area where there is desert sand now and then, it is awful for the pool. Best regards.

@@DIYJIM You could add to your routine to clear the waterline with a sponge and a specialised pool cleaner now and then. It is better for the pool. I also seem to forget this a bit. Really like to listen to your videos as you seem a very consious and careful person.

Thank you for posting. We’ve spent a small fortune on chemicals. Algicide, floc, stabilizer, water clarifier plus chlorine & the list goes on. Im hoping I can cut the cost and not be adding so much junk to our water. Thanks again
