I had 2 of these an early one with the 1.6 single ohc Honda engine and and s Reg late one with 1.8vvc. Both in Tahiti blue . The vvc had cream leather. Would love a turbo t series one

Had a 1.6 K series in charcoal grey with the bubble dash, head gasket went at 2k miles. Then upgraded to a 2.0 T series in Nightfire red.

I’m a big tomcat fan and have had one of each engine version they made. The only bad one was the 1.6 with the cvt gearbox and even that wasn’t that bad. Turbo is king obvs, but I found the vvc and the 2 litre to be the best to thrash around. All are good tho, very underrated in non turbo guise.

That was really good power output for the time. If you take the 2008 Astra 1.8 SRi with the Z18XER engine which had dual VVTi, that made 136bhp. I had one and thats a fun car, but the old Rover lump did even better.

Not really a TomCat without the 2.0 Turbo engine.
    Luv and Peace.
