- You might not have heard of DAMD. But you probably will know their Micro G-Wagen or Land Rover Defender inspired Suzuki Jimnys if you’ve picked up a phone and opened Instagram in the last couple of years. Yes, DAMD is the Japanese purveyor of ingenious bolt-on bodykits (their website boasts kits for everything from Kei cars to Aston Vantage-inspired Toyota GT86s) and their approach seems to be very simple: will their add-ons make you, and everyone around you smile?
Clearly, their latest Lancia Delta HF Integrale and Renault 5 Turbo inspired Jimny kits stay very true to this ethos and we at Top Gear must have one. Or both. Immediately.

Love it when I watch videos like this and I think: “Oh. That’s Route 16 by Sagamiono station.” These guys are in my neighborhood and I never noticed.
This is a truely inspiring and even heartwarming story. I've known Damd from bodykits in games but always assumed they were serious and american. The fact that they're so opposite of what I thought makes me irrationaly happy. I hope they continue existing as a family company!
We can't wait to get both kits in stock and begin building some customer Jimnys!

I loved DAMD. I had a damd kits for my NA Miata and I’ve been a fan of their work since. Fitment was always perfect

You guys need to head over to Jimnystyle, theyre the UK importer of DAMD gear and they do a lot of other great Jimny/Defender stuff!
It would actually be amazing if you also have an "Japanese Tuned" series. I find japanese tuning scene much more interesting than the american one, where they basically just care about how much fuel they can burn.
Been keeping an eye on DAMD for years, these two really showcase their ethos.
Although my fave kit they do is the Little D (Defender style), for the Suzuki Every.
I want one. I'm getting one.

Why o why didn't we get the Kei car version I think it would have sold in buckets, they are just so fun to drive.
Aren't they basically the same, but narrower and less HP?
Too many people would've declared it too slow and wobbly in western nations. The bodyshell is the same on both versions so the international 'Sierra' model is just the same but more capable in every way. The Kei version probably isn't worth it without the Kei-regulation tax breaks and stuff that they qualify for in Japan.
