- Shooting and discussing a second Ruger PC Carbine. Also, please try to get out to your State Capitol rally this Saturday, April 14th. It looks really bad for gun owners if we're too lazy to get out there. John and I will be at the one in Tennessee or Kentucky. Not sure which one yet.

Be sure to get out to your State Capitol this Saturday, April 14th for the 2nd Amendment rally. John and I will be at the rally in Kentucky or the one in Tennessee. Not sure which one yet.
My son will be a 22lr rifle match on that day. I figure that will work for showing our support of the 2nd.
If you go to the Nashville one, I might go. Otherwise, may not be worth it seeing as a pro 2nd Amendment rally in Tennessee is preaching to the choir
Go to the actual capital of Springfield that is around 200 miles away or go to the real capital of Chicago which involves going to Chicago...no thank you.
Kentucky one
I will be in Phoenix. Have not heard much about here. But there is a nice park at the State Capitol. So I will check it out.
I purchased one a few months back and I've run 2k+ rounds with the Glock 31 round mag and have never had an issue other then having too much fun
so the carbine is a really good purchase
Had mine since 2018 and suddenly began jamming last week. Then noticed stock screws had worked loose. After tightening them, it worked fine again. My guess is that the loose stock altered the magazine feed angle, causing the malfunctions.
@@timmally2964 yes
@@Thomas-yw9eo well yeah... everything should remain snug n tight....
The main failure of the PC carbine is extractor geometry either from poor heat treatment or factory slop. These are also notorious for bad heat treatment of the recoil spring, causing premature shrinking. MCARBO makes a fantastic recoil spring aswell as a tool steel extractor with proper geometry. I hear Tandemkross is also a reputable manufacturer of parts aswell
Straight out of the box with Ruger mags, 200 rounds, no failures. Tight groups . Confidence inspiring firearm. Easy to use and easy to hit center.
Mine too. Clay
My Ruger super Blackhawk likes the bullseye too even at a 100. 71/2" bbl.
Anyone else feel at ease listening to Hickock45? Like he's an easy going, and approachable school principal? He's so different from the younger, curse-ladened personalities.
Heard a principal in todays world?
That's because he's a teacher 😂
Bob Ross😅... Let's put some happy little freedom seeds on the gong.
His voice and cadence is very similar to my doctor. Very pleasing and calming, knowledgeable and trustworthy.
It comes with maturity, raising kids, and years of dealing with a declining world, full of idiots. Yes Mr. 45 is da Man ! God Bless him, and his channel of solid folks.
A year later I still love mine. No complaints at all.
I still haven't seen a video of hickok45 using firearm with optics or at least holo-sights on it.
He goes out with a simple iron sights and hits his targets no matter how far they are, 100 yards, 200 yards or 300 yards.
This is more than respectable.
The only optics you need is on your face! Lol
i would assume that its partially to do with the borrowed guns. you wouldnt mount an optic on a borrowed gun for a review when you dont have a very long range in the first place. though i dont remember seeing any on his personal collection either
@Bo Zo he was hitting the 200yd gong with 12g slugs at 200 yards. So I'm guessing the gong is usually around 200yds.
@@kabobl-brewster1612 the 200 yard gong was at 200 yards? Are you sure? Maybe it was 150.
Joking 😉
I love my PCC - probably got 2,000 rounds through it so far, zero malfunctions. Amazingly accurate, very nice to handle, easy to work on with its modular design. Absolutely magnificent rifle.
Great to see this one functioned perfectly. The man can flat out shoot
I noticed Hickok removed the screws completely when he swapped out the the magazine adapter. Ruger does not recommend that. The screws are captive and are designed to stay part way in. Also Ruger states to drop the bolt several times after reassembling the barrel. It helps seat the barrel to the receiver. Great little carbine. I am very happy with mine. No issues at all.
Purchased one in 9mm and have put about 500 rounds through it so far. Truly love this weapon. Not one hiccup and it is dead on accurate. With 9mm +p Underwood defender our average was 2232fps. 2200fps with a 9mm carbine,,,,it's a keeper.
Speaks to his honesty . It is why I have watched for 5 or 6 years . I was really interested until I saw all the jamming of the weapon . hikok could've swept those scenes under the rug . Integrity is in very short supply these days and it verifies I've been watching the right guy for years .
I don't care what anybody says, I think a carbine like this Ruger is a great choice for home defense as long as you make sure you have a reliable system of what mags and ammo you use... It's especially great for people who aren't in general 'gun aficionados' but want something simple, controllable and effective. Not everyone feels comfortable with an AR platform or AK or shotgun and learning to fire a pistol with proficiency is much harder than most people who have never shot before realize.
Good points. I've also heard that shotguns can go off when they are dropped, and someone hiding in their closet probably doesn't want to chamber a round and give away their position.
I fall in love with my Carbine every time I shoot it
I have one of these. It's my favorite gun to shoot that I own.
I bought this in .40 and it is flawless in operation and function. I would highly recommend the ruger pc carbine to anyone who wants a reliable and fun gun to shoot.
Great weapon from a great American company.
It's so cool that Ruger chouse to make that gun able to use Glock mags,
I Agree! Too bad they didn't choose to make their bolt action 308 scout rifle accept M1a mags!! I would have bought one for sure.
@James jimmy Mcdugan I agree choices are always great!
@James jimmy Mcdugan okay dokie.
I want one in a 10mm, or .357 sig even.
Love your reviews and appreciate the time and effort you guys put into them. It appears that these may need a little TLC when attaching the barrel/forend assembly. I don't know if it played any role in the malfunctions but here is the info from the manual.
The PC CARBINE rifle has an adjustable lock-up mechanism. The following directions describe the adjustment necessary to ensure proper lockup the first time the barrel is installed. After the first adjustment, the barrel may be installed by following step 2 only.
1. Loosen the adjustment knob by turning it counter-clockwise as far as possible with finger pressure. (See Figure 42.)
Insert Barrel/Forend Assembly into Receiver Rotate the Barrel/Forend
2. Install the barrel/forend assembly by inserting it into the receiver as shown in Figure 43, and rotating it clockwise until it locks into place.
3. Tighten the adjustment knob by rotating it clockwise until the barrel/forend assembly is securely connected.
NOTE:
You should feel some resistance when turning the barrel/forend assembly into the receiver, but it should not be difficult. If further adjustment is needed, remove the barrel/forend assembly and “tighten” or “loosen” the adjustment knob accordingly.
NOTE:
Following barrel installation, the best fired shot accuracy will be achieved if the action is dry cycled prior to actually firing ammunition in the rifle: Remove the magazine from the rifle and be certain the chamber is empty. Keeping the rifle
pointed in a safe direction, pull the bolt handle fully to the rear while holding the bolt lock up, then release the bolt handle, letting it “slingshot” (freely fly forward) into the ready-to-fire position. Repeat 2 - 3 times. This will properly “seat” the barrel assembly.
Ahhhh :-))) breath of fresh air right here. Tired of all the nonsense that's out there in the media/CZcams right now. Lunch and Hickok, life is good.
danzbeard Haha YUP!
Doin the same thing, lunch and Hickok, life IS good!
Sounds like a good lunch to me
I get the feeling someone spoke far too soon.
2020 and 2021 are perhaps the most difficult years of my short life here on this earth so far.
Anytime Hickok is talking life is good
What would make it far better is a review of semi automatic carbines in .357, .40, .45, and 10mm. And also .44 magnum
Love watching the lead flying into the plate.
Got one of these about a week ago. I am a Ruger fan. Thanks Hickok45 for the great videos!
When the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse return they will be steering clear of the compound
G Lewis; Or stopping by for some last minute advice.

They’d have better luck at planned parenthood, or the dnc.
He could make some sort of automatic gun turret thingy
No they wont... They will go there to reload!
War might ask if he could borrow some gear.
We really appreciate the thoroughness. I'm very interested in PC carbines and was a little wary of the Ruger before you came back and set the record straight.
This model or the ranch are top notch for the price depending on what you like
First off, want to say I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I've been shooting since 1960 when the Army sponsored our Boy Scout Troop when my dad was stationed in Germany. Taught us basic marksmanship skills on a very heavy walnut stock bolt action .22. Shooting has been in my blood since then. When I joined the Army Jan 71, learned more on marksmanship. My problem is I'm nearsighted and I've always shot with iron sights, never had a scope. I always shoot Expert, but now that I'm 70 yrs old my tri-focal glasses makes shooting iron sights very difficult. So my question for you is what type of prescription glasses do you use, bifocal or trifocal? You shoot very good with your glasses on and seem to not have any difficulties. What would you recommend for this old Vietnam Vet? Thks
Thank you for your service to our country I learn to shoot for my dad a Korean War vet and my uncle a Vietnam vet
Glad to see the part 2 of this video. My curiosity of the Ruger pc9 is extremely high can't wait to get my hands on one
9mm carbines and AR pistols have gained tremendous popularity in the last twelve months. The recent 20-20 Shot show was inundated with those by many manufacturers with great interest shown by participants. I would love to see you doing a new video with one that I think you are really going to like. Brigade Manufacturing out of Miami is one outfit with great quality AR pistols and carbines. All USA parts. Keep those videos coming!
i have had a ruger 9 mm pcc for 4 months I am up tp about 800 rounds. zo far no problems. it could use a cleaning but it still works okay with fmj. Very accurate.
Just keep up the good work Hickok !
Sending positive vibes from Sweden :)
as a ruger fan, this one's definitely on my list to get, thanks for doing a second chapter on it! Also, that was epic guitar John! Rock on!
This looks so cool. Would you guys recommend this as a first firearm? I still don't have one, but this seems manageable.
yes coupled with the ruger security 9
I have one and its amazing
It was my first firearm.
Dang! That was a nice little carbine! You are such a great shot and your range set up is perfect. I'm building a range myself and enjoy all your FAQ videos about shooting steel safely and your M1 garand videos. (My favorite rifle) Thanks again for another awesome video! Can't wait to see what you will shoot for us next!
One of my favourite vids, when John is filming over your shoulder with no zoom, impressive.
I just watched this video and chapter 1 this week. The thought of a pistol caliber carbine hadn’t crossed my mind. However, I watched these 2 videos and I just had to get one. Finally found one LGS that had one without the new ventilated barrel shroud. Picked it and Bushnell red dot scope and came home. Got the red dot scope mounted and mag well changed to Glock mags and sighted it in. Oh man, this thing is a blast to shoot. And also, it is quite accurate with the Fed American Eagle 124 FMJs. It will accept any double stack Glock mag from a G26 to a G17. The ability to accept Glock mags, along with its somewhat traditional styling is what sold me on the Ruger. Plus watching your video. Call Ruger and tell them they owe you a commission for advertising🤣🤣. Enjoy all of your videos and keep up the great work.
I have the model with the barrel shroud. With a 33 round mag and flash suppressor it looks like a PPSH.
Apart from looking cool you get lots of firepower in your hands. Thanks Ruger!
I have over 1000 rounds through mine, not one issue with any mags. I have used Ruger Americans, the SR 9 and many Glock mags. The 33 round fun sticks are a pure joy!
Thx hickok for doing a follow up. I saw other videos with promise then the first one you did with this rifle let the air out of my hopes for this gun, this video pumped me up again! I really like the traditional look of the Ruger PCC.
That was awesome the gun play and guitar play. Just bought a PC car... Can't wait to play my own symphony.
I bought one as soon as they came out. I love it. Works perfectly with glock mags, i had issues with one particular ETS mag.
Thank you @hickok45. We're a 9mm household (for simplicity/cost - we're not collectors) and I was as dismayed at the results of your original video as excited I was when I first heard about the rifle. I am very glad to see it is working so well now. Thank you for the update.
Life is gooooooooooooooooooooooooood!
BTW - how awesome would this be with the magpul backpacker stock?
The Angriest Puppy hahahahaha same here. I got excited when I seen this gun and I seen he had video of it.... Then I seen first video and was really disappointed until this one
Magpul now has a stock for it.
FINALLY!!!!! I ordered aPC9 in late March or early April. I even purchased an SR9, with five extra magazines, and a carrying case made for the take down. Just got the call yesterday, June 8, that my Carbine has arrived. Can't wait to pick it up!!!
Watching you shoot and have fun brings a smile to my face.
Just got done testing 9 kinds of sub sonic ammo in my Ruger 9mm carbine, suppressed. The ppu 158g ammo was one of the 4 quietest , and it is very quiet at the ear drum, with most of the sound being the bolt coming back. But the real separation was the accuracy at 50 yards, which was excellent. will be buy much for of this ammo. velocity was just under 1000 fps. Note: Keep your barrel screw tight, if you don't want the barrel jumping around.
Sure glad to see the chapter 2 on this! Hoping its not a lemon, either way Ruger stands by their products. This one today seemed solid, good news!
Wow Hickock45, that little carbine is very accurate. It hits hard too. Great review. Thanks
As an SR9c owner, I can't wait to buy one of these and stick a reflex sight on it.
Same!!
Me too! Plus I also have Glocks...
dude.. and the laser on the bottom front or a light!!
@@towelie4625 I’d go with a light.
Good carbine!!! Thanks for the video. Redemption for the PC Carbine
What does the PC stand for? Thks
@@louwilson0906 “Pistol Caliber” carbine
I agree! I love shooting the pistol caliber carbines and rifles. I have the Ruger PC4 (which is in .40 S&W), a Marlin Camp 9 and Camp 45. Also pair of Uberti's, a '73 Winchester in .357Mag, and a '84 Colt Lightning pump rifle in 45LC. All are good shooters, reliable and FUN!
“Cowboy has been getting by unscathed here”. “I’m so tall it works better.” So funny. Hickok you are a pure pleasure to watch and listen to.
Great video ! I've been considering buying one. Wish they had a storage space in the stock for the spare mag well and a hex key.
HICKOCK ..you and your son are Great..GOD bless you and your family..and MERRY CHRISTMAS
I noticed my glock insert seems to be a little more loose compared to the Ruger insert. I'm hoping that Ruger goes and makes inserts for other mag options as well. Would be an easy way to market to a variety of gun owners.
Great job by all you guys making this second go around happen.
I like that rear sight. Superb shooting as always. I have a weakness for Rugers.
I love mine. No malfunctions yet. Hopefully it'll stay that way. You're right about the bump fire. It's really easy to do on accident.
😉
Great videos hickok,I have the pc carbine as well it always fired fine and then one day it started malfunctioning regularly ,I found the front receiver screw loose and tightened it and all problems went away
Cup of Coffee and Hickok45 .......Perfect. Another video that temps me to go to my favorite gun store and check stock!
You know Sir, if you did a video on Rubber Band Guns.....You'd influence millions also!!! Please keep up the GREAT Vids!
100% AWESOME ,10/10. Greetings from the uk
Again excellent video.. you voice is very relaxing and knowledgeable.. thank you again..😀😎
Thanks very much for the Chapter 2.
Just picked one up today. Thanks for the video!
I would love to see a review on the Ruger model 44 carbine. In 44 mag
Glad you did a part ch 2. I've watched numerous other reviews and none of them had any hangups ! ??????
From what I’ve seen on MAC’s initial shooting video of it they found that aftermarket Glock mags caused issues; if you’re going with Glock I’d use their mags.
I Love my new pc carbine. I have run around 500 rounds through it suppressed with no issues. Only thing i was hoping was the bx trigger would work in it but it does not. The pins that hold the assembly in are not even close. Great video as usual.
Hello I'm from a very rural part of northwest PA, we hillbillies all are avid outdoorsman. So I was looking up reviews on guns and I just found ur channel and I like how you teach and explain safety in the sport keep up the great work and testing those guns, cause I just bought an XDs 40 because of ur reviews.
Still mY favorite, Dependable & accurate AF
Such a cool gun... I can’t wait to pick one up myself!
this one is the newer model with the threaded barrel, mine is the newer threaded model as well, no feed problems at all, love it, fun as hell, especially with the glock sticks
The cowboy at 7:33 is what the PC carbine is all about: Low recoil, fast follow up shots, and enough power to knock down smaller critters (humans) way more accurately than a pistol if you have the option. Put a red dot on it, carrying it broken down like the 10/22 and this is a great truck whatever gun.
Hopefully they dont want to ban this one... its got PC in the title and everything man!
shovel head In its current configuration, it's possible. Put a wooden stock on it and they wouldn't bat an eye at it.
Taylor Howard yep just look at the mini14 vs the ar15. One looks scary and has that dreaded pistol grip and the bayonet chainsaw lmao that ad was ridiculous
Illegal in Kalifornia before it was made ...lol
shovel head bayonet chainsaw...Gears Of War?
Taylor Lemke from a funny news ad ill find it for you
i just simply love my Ruger PC9. Strangely I have worked at several gun shops n have been in the hobby 40 years, and never owned a Glock. I do not dislike them, just ONE brand i have never had. I guess my choice pistols is Sig Sauer. On Revolvers I am 100 % a RUGER man !
yeah i changed the charge handle to left side. feels better on getting to the safety and trigger. i have 3 glocks. one 365 sig plus a colt and kimber 45 acp so 4 are 9s and the pc 9 fills my nitch of 9s.
Hickok you were having so much fun that I want one now!!
Have had one for over a year. No hickups! Great gun.
Ahhh he has been to the best state around! Good old Wyoming! My home state
Hoping Ruger finds its way to offering a Beretta 92 mag adapter for it. Lots of them floating around as well.
I really appreciate the follow up video on this one I have been looking into getting one of these but that first video had me second guessing just alittle bit.
The only thing I kinda dislike about mine is a little front heavy. They put too much metal on the barrel and also on the takedown feature.
Amazing, thanks for posting this vid!!!Love it!!
I think I'm pretty set on picking one of these up when I get the chance! It would make for a good truck gun if that's still a thing.
Glad to see this ch 2 :) Do they sell one with classic furniture? (wood)
Good thing you explained what classic furniture is.... it's like you have your own language or something....really?
That Rapid Fire at the Gong was awsome 👍👍👍
I've enjoyed so many (all I've seen) of your videos, but it seems that you like shooting the pcc9's more than most. Great!
I´ll really love to see this carbine with a supressor, please, do a chapter 3!!!!!
leandro bonfanti This is one gun that I have I’m most likely going to put a suppressor on it
When will the Ruger security 9 chapter 2 come I've been waiting hehe
I just ordered the updated one with the hand guard. Hopefully they’ve sorted out all the bugs and it is reliable as this.
Love your videos. Sometimes I feel like I am in school. Lots of good info.
Can’t believe I bought one of these during a global pandemic when prices are at record highs...... but I sure am loving it😉
I literally just bought mine today. I had to drive 55 miles since there is nothing left in my area. I am happy to get one. Have fun with it.
How much did you pay for it?
David Kalafatis mine was 650.00 Mlok handguard
I bought one of the first sold here in Mexifornia in early January , about 2,000 rounds in maybe 2 or 3 FTF . Federal 9 aluminum case 115 grain ammo.
Thanks for that info but your still dirty racist
@@MrAndyhdz What's racist about his statement? Commiefornia would be a more apt description but Mexifornia makes sense too. There's nothing racist about alluding to a demographic shift.
Federal is good range ammo but not perfect. I have had expensive hornady ammo fail to fire. I started making my own and have better luck. FTF are usually a bad primer.
@@boomerisadog3899 Wtf you mean demographic shift? California has always had a large Mexican population. Due to the fact idk...that it used to be part of Mexico maybe?
I just bought one yesterday......can't wait to hit the range!!!
One of the things I love about Hickok45 is his love of shooting. Shooting guns is a lot of fun.
Mine has been flawless after approx 750 rounds factory and reloads. Using G mags.
I noticed that after watching Hickock45, I toss my empty mags now too after I run them dry. Lol!!!
Good stuff! The Ruger PC9 seems interesting!

That's a very nice 9mm carbine
Hickok45 for new NRA spokesperson and or president he’d have my vote!!!
Thanks for the follow up ! With much love and respect! 🙏💕
After watching several vids , Ruger is simply changing out the trigger group . I guess the early ones had some bugs to work out . Thanks for the follow up sir might have to have one soon !
I have a Palmetto State AR 9 and absolutely love it. Best plinking firearm I have. Winchester white box NATO 124 g runs really well in AR 9s. And yes it does take Glock mags 😄😆👍🏻
