- This is a fan-made story about what would happen if SCP 096 no-clipped into the backrooms.
SCP 096 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Shy Guy.
SCP-096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. Subject shows very little muscle mass, with preliminary analysis of body mass suggesting mild malnutrition.
SCP096 is normally extremely docile, with pressure sensors inside its cell indicating it spends most of the day pacing by the eastern wall. However, when someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face.
The Backrooms is an online urban legend and creepypasta which originated in a 2019 4chan thread about unsettling images. One of the first examples of liminal spaces - an internet aesthetic which includes usually busy locations depicted as unnaturally empty - the Backrooms are an endless maze of office rooms which are entered by "[noclipping] out of reality in the wrong areas".
As its popularity grew, internet users have expanded upon the original concept by creating different levels and entities which inhabit the Backrooms. Fan-made video games, collaborative fiction wikis and CZcams videos have also been inspired by the Backrooms. The most popular of these is a series of horror shorts by CZcamsr Kane Parsons, known online as Kane Pixels, who is set to direct a film adaptation of his videos.

Damn! Who would’ve thought that SCP-096 would end up in the Backrooms? Could this either be a relief for the SCP Foundation or a new problem to find the Shy Guy again? ASYNC has been connected to the origins of the Backrooms? Maybe this alternate reality is more than a sentient plane of existence than what meets the eye. Even SCP-343 knew about the Backrooms too.

Three things I have to comment on this video. I've been taking in A LOT of backrooms content, and while nothing is actually canon, I have can say these three things are fairly common.
1. On level 0, where most people end up, and it seems that SCP-096 and Adam started in, people are incapable of seeing each other, even if they are located in the same area. Probably due to some weird Euclidian space anomaly.
2. ASYNC didn't really know what they were doing for the most part, and certainly weren't expecting to open a portal to the backrooms, let alone have a plan to study it.
3. ASYNC referred to the backrooms as "the complex" and not the backrooms.

So we actually have a time for this one!!! (The quake in the backrooms videos) awesome attention to detail. How about if the shy guy met the unkillable reptile in the backrooms? Also couldn't the foundation have used a dclass and pic of 096 at the lab entrance to the backrooms to try to lure the shy guy back... Yet again the foundation proves not as smart as they think they are.

The thing with the backrooms is that it's asynchronous and unaligned to our reality. You can only make one-way portals, and the going through levels is also done by no-clipping. Async developed a portal (in)to the backrooms, not between our reality and the backrooms. The only way out is finding a way to glitch outta there.
We know what will happen if the shy guy met the reptile, in the end ita a fight not worth fighting.

I just really want to see a situation where Dr. Bright, Cain, and Able are forced to work together.

I’ve always wondered, isn’t a good strategy for the SCP to always have a picture of Shy Guys face as a last resort, for when he escapes and becomes hard to track down? You could use a D-class to look at the picture and capture the shy guy afterwards.

If the picture was leaked and put on the internet, it would kill millions and expose the scp foundation to the world. There is no particular reason to have a spare picture of scp-096 because scp-096 always returns back to its natural habitat in the Himalayas when it breaches containment.
That was my thought as well. Literally the easiest SCP to track down. Just show a D-Class his face and let him come to you.
The rest is just bagging him. Literally.
The problem with that is if he’s really far away then on his way to the site people may accidentally see his face or catch it on camera and in a situation where he literally disappears The picture thing could easily cause an XK scenario if he’s on let’s say The other side of the world

Probably not, sadly... Despite there being thousands of SCPs that haven't been featured, they just want to focus on the same SCPs in varying situations: in the backrooms, vs matches, vs other franchises, day in the life of, surviving 100 days etc... Why? It's easier than making fresh content 😒

We know the O5 council, generelly the MTF, Scientists etc. But those two Departements are pretty much unknown and it would be nice to know how they work what they do and how they are recruited.

So they sent in SCP Foundation agents into the Backrooms? And now the Shy Guy will fight against the monsters? So is this not connected to the hard to destroy reptile one? Would be interesting to see them run into each other after their journeys and the agents manage to end up finding them in the end only both broken and heavily wounded after their third encounter with one another.
This video shows that backrooms have very little in common with any kind of reality - shy guy in rage state was able to chase SCP 507 (reluctant demention hopper) without much trouble but isn"t able to escape backrooms

I miss when this channel uploaded videos every day. I understand that is a lot to ask but still. We didn't know how good we had it back then.
No we didn't. We were truly spoiled
But most of all it had quality then by quality I mean the sense of mystery that Brough many to the SCP universe. There are more than 7000 SCPs but now that this channel got comfortable with their 2.04m subs, they are stuck on loop with the same 11 Scps we have seen so so so much. I miss when you couldn't wait to learn about another scp.

One of the Jack Bright clones wound up here. He's been very instrumental in some of our research. He no-clipped while escaping that foundation and fell through a sidewalk in Las Vegas after buying an ice cream from a sidewalk vendor.

I don't know if the SCP Foundation would be down for it..but what it they controlled the backrooms?
Like they could simply study an anomaly, know whatever there's to know about it and then throw it into the backrooms. Of course this dose now apply to the good anomalies like Able, Belitrov or the Tickle Monster but would certainly work for most of the destructive creatures they hold. I suppose most wouldn't be able to escape, don't know if the Old Man could still get out using his portals but just imagine how of a relief they could have by getting rid of those scps that are too dangerous to kept in containment or get rid of dangerous anomalies overall. No need to kill them either, just toss em into the Backrooms
