    I've bought cheap cameras in the past and have known about Lorex at the time but didn't want to drop the cash. Long story short, don't get cheap stuff and front up the money for something that'll last forever like this. I am putting this doorbell into my new home.

    I’ve had a Lorex DVR system for 6 years and upgraded to a 16CH Fusion system after watching your other video. I recently purchased six sensors and a doorbell on the Lorex Black Friday sale. $9 bucks a sensor and $99 for the 2K doorbell sold me. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to install these items soon.

    Had one for over a year so far! integrated into my Lorex N84A8 - Pre Fusion. Works fine. BUT WiFI video not always the best.... but usable. I have installed over 100 Lorex systems , all still running. Hint when adding the Chime Connection - there is always wasted space on either side of the chime frame - hollow spaces that will easily fit the chime adapter box, but you have to cut out some plastic with a sharp knife - totally worth it!

      @davidgekler Před rokem

      @@yukubaholmes7529 Not with A LOREX NVR, but then again, the Lorex NVR's are Not flexible with video protocol. Also ONVIF is more about PAN/TILT/ZOOM and the Lorex Door Bell cam does Not PTZ. While looking at the door bell cam image with Lorex APP or Software you can "digitally" PTZ the image very well! You could always buy one from Amazon and try it out, easy return!

  • @markm4120

    TL:DR - Use 1 Lorex doorbell per doorbell transformer. -- I've had 2 of these for maybe a year now that I added to a Lorex NVR. They are really nice BUT they are extremely power-hungry. Running a (new) 24v 40va transformer (and new wiring), it took some trickery to get them installed. I had to install one, disconnect power to it, then connect the other and install it before reconnecting the other one. The device hotspot wouldn't connect to my phone due to lack of power, which took me 3 days, 3 separate phones and 2 transformers to figure out (tech support was friendly but had no clue). Now, my transformer finally quit, so I have 2 new ones coming today and will install one for each doorbell. Thankfully, I had wired them into my media closet with a low voltage junction box and a high voltage power box, so aesthetics are not a factor. Most new transformers come with a knockout connector where the power wires come out of it, so it's easy to install the transformer on the OUTSIDE of an electrical panel box. Some older homes have them inside the breaker box but technically it's against most building codes (to the best of my knowledge, anyway).

    Nice video. Couple of simple questions perhaps you can help me with:
    1. I have 3 doors, can I simply buy 3 doorbells and set them up individually labeling them "Front" "Side", Rear" ? ( To hard wire a system and mount cameras would require big effort in attic)
    2. I presume I can view everything on the phone app Lorex supports? Select what camera I want to view etc?
    3. Can I then view the stored media for each doorbell on my phone to see a history of whats been going on around the house? ( we have lots of animals in neighborhood and I'm trying to figure out whats going on)
    Your help is greatly appreciated !

    How to you like the doorbell camera after a few months? I see you have a camera right above the door, does having the doorbell camera seem redundant? I’m on the fence about the Lorex doorbell camera and I also have a camera right above the door and another one looking at the door a little further away.
    The doorbell camera view looks good in the video though, it’s a totally different angle seeing it straight on instead of from above.

    Hey man, I enjoy your videos, very informative. I just purchased the Fusion and am debating getting this too. My Fusion cameras are 24/7 recording, so I'm not going to need the doorbell to detect/record motion (because the cameras will cover that area) or record 24/7, I'd just want it to record actual interactions (Bell pushes) to my lorex fusion box. I assume it is but do you know if this is possible?

    I have now had 3 doorbells sent to me to try to fix the same issue, they do not even list any 5Ghz Wi-Fi networks as being available. I have about 5 different case numbers that have all been closed without the initial problem getting fixed. You can't just keep sending me doorbells when there is nothing wrong with them other than they are not configured to connect to 5Ghz neworks in Canada. I have told the 1st level phone support each time that the problem can only be fixed by a firmware update to the doorbell but all they do is send me another doorbell to try.

    Hi Rick, I have a follow up comment that may be an additional benefit besides having no cloud fees. Having a doorbell talk to the cloud, introduces latency into the alerts. You will receive an alert after someone has already kicked in your door. Can the doorbell by itself provide a push alert to your Android running Lorex Home before a person arrives at your door?
    I am also interesting in their NVR 4K camera combination. I live in a rural area off a 220 foot driveway. Receiving an alert that a vehicle is driving down my driveway at 2:00 am is something that I would want to alerted to. Please let me know your thoughts for my application.

      @@Tom-ff8cv I do believe your footage will go with the doorbell. I have the Fusion NVR for my Lorex system and that means if they steal the doorbell i will have the footage on my NVR as well. You can probably call them to confirm though. If I end up being wrong please let me know.

      I would probably call their 800# and get some tech support. Could be a number of things. If you have a monitor connect directly to your nvr do you see the cameras offline there? If your standing in front of your system and looking at the direct feed from a monitor and it’s working you would want to know if you have a network or internet issue.

    Are you able to record to the SD card and the NVR at the same time? And are you able to connect to the NVR but exclusive record to the SD card? Lastly, do you still recommend it? Thank you.

    • @RickvanderValk14
      @RickvanderValk14  Před rokem +2

      Yes you can record to SD card and NVR if using fusion NVR. I believe if you connect to NVR you are recording to both. You can however have doorbell in smartphone app and not connect to NVR. So you can still see it in the app with all your other cameras just not when you stand in front of NVR or on your computer app. Mine has worked very well and I am happy with it. It fits with all my lorex stuff nicely.

      2.4 is better for wifi anyway, it goes a further distance and is more reliable than 5ghz. Not sure it matters

      you register the camera to lorex as well password protect it when you set it up, so not sure how much luck they would have with it. The plus side of them stealing it would be that because I use the fusion NVR system, i would have footage of them taking it since its recorded to the NVR as well as the doorbell.
