      The 2nd one was pretty good, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first one. A lot of the enjoyment in the first one is the role reversal of the nerd being popular and the jock being an outcast, but they essentially went back to the regular expected hierarchy in the 2nd one.

      @Anibogi Skynobi Its a shame when actors start looking down on their roots like that. Same thing with Mark Walberg, I've heard if you call him Marky Mark to his face he'll literally try to kick your ass lol. I give props to guys like Zack Effron or Channing Tatum who started from embarrassing shit, but they own it and refuse to look down on it.

    • @JadoreDepp
      @JadoreDepp Před 2 lety +158

      @@KS-xk2so Depp didn't "start looking down on his roots". He always openly stated how uncomfortable it was for him to be used as a brand, already back then while being on the show he tried a numerous of times to get fired but no matter what he would do, they wouldn't fire him. He knew perfectly well that they were using his face as a marketing tool, placating it everywhere to sell a bunch of stuff and this is what he couldn't stand. You can find many interviews online where he goes in depth about this and how at first acting was for him just a way to pay the bills.

      @@KS-xk2so You can't look down on something, when you've done nothing better. Zac Efron peaked with HSM movies, at least in terms of popularity. And I don't even know what happened to Tatum. He was going to be a huge star, but his career stalled too. He's done only voice roles for the last 3 years. I am not sure you can look down at Step Up when your last movie was Smallfoot.

    I love this movie, and the sequel is just as good, if not better.
    In the commentary, Lord and Miller say that the Chris Parnell line "Doing cocaine with Willie Nelson's horse" was ADR, because the original was "Doing cocaine with Whitney Houston's niece", and Whitney Houston had died one month before the movie was released, so, yeah, they had to change it.
    Also, the scene when Schmidt pushes the old lady in the store and says she tried to grab his dick is a reference to Donnie Brasco, when the title character uses the same excuse to maintain his cover. It also stars Johnny Depp, by the way. Great movie, too.

    Here's a small fact on the Drama Teacher scene. Originally his line was "Doing cocaine with Whitney Houston's niece." But due to the recent tragic death of the iconic came to light involving coke, Columbia Pictures/ MGM called the actor to redub a new line to "Willie Nelson's Horse" months before the movie premiered in theaters.
