🤚Once you finish the movies y'all should do the books. It's a pretty different experience. For instance the first thing you mentioned. Hermione *modified* her parents memories and sent them to live in Australia as a childless couple. She knew Death Eaters would come after them for information when she didn't show up at Hogwarts. If they defeat Voldemort and Hermione is still alive then she plans to go after them abd restore their memories. If she dies Hermione figures that at least her parents will be safe and happy in Australia since they won't remember her.
They left out the scene where Ron explains that a jinx has been put on Voldemort's name to immediately break all protective enchantments and locate who said it after he returns and saves Harry in the pond/lake. The only ones who ever really used Voldemort's name were Dumbledore and Order members after all.
They screwed up with Harry looking to Hermione for help to save Dobby in that scene. In the book Hermione was unconscious at that time.

In the books, they explain better how the Trio were found after disapparating from the party. Voldemort placed a jinx on his name. If anyone speaks his name then it breaks all enchantments and allows the death eaters to apparate instantly to their location. The only people brave enough to utter Voldemort's name were the Order of the Phoenix and such. It's why partway through the movie, the Trio stops calling him by his name and switching back to using 'You Know Who'. There was a deleted scene I believe that showed Ron telling them about the jinx, but I guess they saw fit to cut it :/
I wish they'd had more stuff on Kreacher - in the book he has more of a redemption arc and because warm and caring to the Trio. I also kind of feel like it was foreshadowing Harry telling dobby 'never save my life again' cause it cost him his life in the end.
