Is The Premiere Pass At Universal Orlando Worth The Money?

  • Looks like the crowds have picked up in the theme parks here in Central Florida and we were not ready for it. We noticed an uptick in wait times across the board, but not the spike that we saw over the past few days! Thankfully Express Pass at Universal allowed us to really have a great time without worrying about the crowds. The Premiere Pass giving you the express pass after 4pm is AMAZING and I recommend frequent park goers to get that tier if you are thinking about getting an annual pass.

    Still debating if the Express Pass or the included Valet is the best perk to Premiere Pass 😂 Still probably the Express after 4pm.... That's been a literal GAME CHANGER. I don't think we waited more than 15-20 minutes the entire day. PLUS! Velocicoaster is now included!!

    Great vlog! I think for someone on vacay the best deal is at a premier resort where everyone in the room gets an unlimited express pass!

      Thank you! Definitely agree, HOWEVER, the price on the premiere hotels have gone way up. So I imagine you need to have a lot more people staying in the rooms for it to become "worth it" vs buying an express pass. I think if you're going to buy a pass and plan to go a decent amount, I really feel like premiere with the express pass is just a no brainer. For locals, I guess since we go later so often it helps out, but even still, just half the day doing the standby queue and then in the evenings/afternoons doing the express lanes I think is nice. I love that they have velocicoaster on express now, too!

    I went last week and the park was light on Mon and Tue. Had a great time.

      Ya, I feel like within literally a week the crowds went from low or low/medium to high or very high crowd levels. It happens in the blink of an eye! I imagine we will have pretty high crowds till right before summer where it should slow a bit, but then it'll go to summer crowds. It's fascinating, really, to see how quick the crowd levels change. Tuesday I imagine is still a great day for park going, too.

    First time i rode hagrids was during a slow week and only waited 30 mins. I was new to the park so figured that’s about average. Went back during the summer and boy was I wrong lmfao. Average wait for the week was 180 mins.

      Lol! That must have been rough. I don't think since we've moved down here, I've seen Hagrid's under 50 minutes. 30 minutes would be crazy! I can seriously imagine the shock you received seeing the 3 hour long line after your first experience, though. 🤣 I'm still shocked that it still holds such a strong presence in the park. I thought it would slowly lose interest, but it is always packed!

      Dude and we stayed on site for early entry and the morning wait times were 200 minutes or more. My girlfriend and I would ride velocicoaster over and over again till hagrids calmed down hahaha. Hoping Epic Universe kinda controls the harry potter crowds!

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  Před rokem +1

      @@MessagetoBlue I'm pretty sure it's confirmed they're adding more Potter to Epic Universe with a unique patented ride system, so I would say we can definitely imagine crowds will head that way. But my one thought would be that even though you may get crowd dispersion to Epic Universe, the crowd demand numbers will most likely go up, too. So, it may not alleviate TOO many line problems, but we will definitely see! I haven't seen too many days of Hagrid 200+ minutes, but there's still been a few since we've moved down haha.

    The wife and I will be doing Universal Orlando annual passes, the top tier universal annual pass (premier pass) is $20 cheaper than the Sorcerer pass from Disney. Includes their water park (volcano bay), has no blackout dates, up to 35% off onsite hotels, Express pass (fast pass) after 4pm. Early Park admission on select dates, basically all of October through December you can get in an hour early, free valet parking and free parking if valet is full, plus discounts on merch and food. All in all, it's a way better deal. We love Disney, but we don't love the prices they are charging and the lack of benefits you get for them.

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  Před 9 měsíci

      I couldn't agree more, the value on Universal's Annual Pass is SIGNFICANTLY better than Disney's. There's no value to Disney's higher tiers except for blockout dates. Which seems absolutely crazy to me. The free valet on Premiere or free Prime Parking are amazing. The discounts are on EVERYTHING but alcohol basically. The amount of goodies and exclusives is just better. And then there's price. Just that alone I think is incredible. Unfortunately, I think once you've risen prices, I find it hard to believe you ever lower them. Since people are paying, they won't budge. So I don't think passes will EVER get cheaper than they are right now, and they're not cheap by any means, but I assume they will only ever go up.

      @@Dillon.Thomas The price of $980 per premier ticket isn't cheap, bit compared to its counter part with mouse ears, as we have stated, is way cheaper, and you get way more perks. I also feel the price hikes are an investment in Universal given everything that will be coming out in 2025. Unlike Disney that appears to have high prices simply to have high prices.

      @@The-Small-Avdentures-of-a-VT Exactly this!! I'm ok spending a few more dollars if I know were getting some good investment BACK into the guest experience. I don't love to see price hikes when there's nothing on the horizon. If you want to make me spend more, show me where the value is. If I spend more and I see no return, and have the EXACT same thing, it makes me angry/upset, if I spend more and they say "we're investing in millions of dollars of projects for our guests" then I'm at least ok with it (Never love to pay more, obviously LOL) but I can justify it. 🙏

    Not sure if Hagrid‘s would work even with the Xpress pass because everybody would be in the express pass lines and then there would be no point even having the Xpress pass for Hagrids since it’s the busiest ride in the entire park. Yeah, It may be changing when Epic comes to Universal. 🤷‍♀️

    • @Dillon.Thomas
      @Dillon.Thomas  Před rokem +1

      I agree, you probably would overload the express to the point standby would be EVEN longer, but I do think come Epic Universe, things may change. But I imagine the fact that Hagrids almost always has almost 2+ hours EVERY day almost ALL DAY, I don't think they're worried about the express pass changes anytime soon to that ride haha.
