I am watching V again these days. From the first miniserie to the last episode and I’m as excited as the first time I watched back in 1985 when it was broadcasted in Spain which was an authentic revolution. It is worthy, never will be old fashion, V still retains all its freshness to this very day. They really made a good job. Seeing Diana in all her glory.
I was 12 when V came on, and as a young girl, we didn't have many superheroes. Jane, as Diana, taught me not to take any crap from anybody. Her character wasn't very nice, but she stood her ground. To this day, I thank her for helping make me the strong woman I am today! Girlpower!
My mom got me on V when I was young. And I still binge watch them from time to time, And I own the whole series. My most watched show. I'm watching now lol. Diana, with her mean self 😂, is one of my all time favorite characters!
Jane was so hot while she was doing V that she was putting thoughts in my head that a 5th grader shouldn't even have back in the day. Watching her like i did around that time made me jump about 30 years into puberty!!!
Not to mention her wearing that alien outfit that leads your eye down straight to her vagina because it was in a V shape.... Lol. Diana was mean and sexy... Lol
I remember watching Jane Badler on V. when I was ten years old as Diana. She and the cast all did a great job and I'm proud to say that. I miss the 80s and all the good shows 👍.
So big an impression did she make as Diana, I was totally shocked when I met her in 85 in New York. She could not have been less "Diana" like. Almost demure, She shared a story with me that.. while filming Julie's conversion sequences in The Final Battle, she got so overwhelmed by Faye's acting.. that she almost broke down crying. She took a half second to look away, pull herself together.. and snap back into character, She said, " ... and you wanna know what? They left it in. When Faye screams in one scene.. if you look quick.. you'll see it. They never edited it out. Later I cried when we were finished " Great lady, and a moment I'll remember forever.
cool story. its funny she was totally believable as an absolute ice cold murderous bitch but in real life is like the total opposite. I mean she just seems fun!
V was massive over here in ENGLAND uk in the 80"s..watched it again recently, super cheesy but still fun to watch.. Stay safe everyone and merry Christmas
The original miniseries wasn’t cheesy, actually. It was told in a very straightforward and serious tone and was very character driven, with the flashy sci fi special effects kept to a minimum so as to not hit the audience over the head. It wasn’t until they turned it into a weekly series that it became super cheesy. It felt more like a comic book with 80s nighttime soap elements mixed in.
Dwayne Terry Check out MrE & Conspiracies by Hans Channels... "She" is a dude ! She tells us on another vid by flashing the masonic Baphomet sign.... (Which we are sold as a "peace sign"). Also check out German Videos channel & Harvey Davidson... Wake-up !
I was still in school when I watched V and Jane's character Diana was my favorite character in the mini series and tv series. I used to have it on vhs back in the 80s now I have the complete collection on dvd. Still great to watch.
@3:00 how cool is it that she thinks its 'fantastic' that she was a generation of young mens 'first crush' - I think the actual character of Diana would also be secretly pleased with that notion too (even if they were the enemy/humans)
I'm proud never to have watched that so-called ''sequel'' from 2009 that everyone is talking about ! Just watched some photos here and there, but I'm sure that even though I watched it, I would NOT like it ... Sure at 100 % ''V : the mini series'' (1983), and more especially ''V : The Final Battle'' were the ones I remember the most; the atmosphere from that period was very special and very unique ... I won't talk about the regular series from 1985 here, because I don't seem to recall it very well (not at all actually)
My first crush when watching V and a fantastic actress, Jane played the part very very well. I still watch V every now and again. Surprised Jane said she only had 5 scenes in the beginning as I thought it was more. Very curious to know what happened to Faye Grant as another great actress but somehow not much activity after V.
She had more than five scenes. The character was originally introduced as John's second in command aboard the New York mothership & Donovan did a close up of her with his camera. Diana's character developed into a vicious, narcissistic Alexis Colbey in space as the mini series became the Final Battle & then the 19 episode series that followed. This was definitely a 'Dynasty' homage because of her constant bitching with Lieutenant Lydia, played by savvy British actress June Chadwick. It was very amusing to watch but did destroy the serious message that the original mini series was trying to convey.
You know, the real tragedy about "V" was politics-studio and network politics, and they sure played a damaging hand, that really could've been prevented, had NBC and Warner Bros. allowed Kenneth Johnson to have had a more creative hand with his creation, because THAT would've made a BIG difference in the long run! the ABC rivived series in 2009 really stank-and the only saving grace there, was Morena Bacarin, who did make something of an impact! Jane Badler on the other hand, will ALWAYS be the evil "Diana",,and it was such a letdown, that this actress wasn't allowed to play her true role-but then, the ABC series was just no match for either the NBC mini-series,and its eventual follow-ups,and the the 1984-85 TV series,,not a chance! as some of you know,Kenneth Johnson is working very hard to do a motion picture based on HIS original concept, and this man will succeed eventually-even after his great work with FOX's "ALIEN NATION" TV series and TV movies, which are still seriously well made material, and Johnson's quality is STILL the mega superior, which NOBODY will ever come close to topping!
Isn’t she from Australia, so strange how she picked this accent up so quickly where big English film stars living in the states far longer and still sound very British
She is an American who spent the last 28 years in Australia (22 years only at the time of this interview). Yeah, I find it strange that she has picked up an Aussie accent so fast especially considering she moved there in her mid 30s. I moved to Australia when I was 10 and have spent the last 30 years here in Australia and I still sound very British.
No wonder, for those fan conventions studios usually send out the beginners. So the question come over somewhat half baked and in an almost naive way. Badler is clearly doing also the Interviewers job by giving HIM ! the conversational keywords.
thought he did a good job? even asked about M:I and tbh who knew/remembers the 89 series? only question he didn't ask is if they did V as a huge movie would you want to be Diana again (but then the news of the V film was only announced in 2018 )
I like this ... Jane, as 'Diana' as 'erotic and scary' you were indeed my first crush ... seeing how I tuned out, I ponder - was it more for the more gold chiffon and leather rather than ... well ... you know lol

Adorable woman. I love her naturality. There's no one in all Hollywood who has it. RIP her young and beautiful son.
I love how she found love in Australia, one of my favourite actresses of all time.
Will always love Jane Badler. She's so talented; was and always will be! :-)

Not to mention her wearing that alien outfit that leads your eye down straight to her vagina because it was in a V shape.... Lol. Diana was mean and sexy... Lol

how cool would it have been had Cruise cast her in a cameo in MI2 when it filmed in Australia
My first crush when watching V and a fantastic actress, Jane played the part very very well.

Not much different from the background story of STAR TREK TOS.

Her Diana character from V was fine, but I gotta say Badler's recent work in Smiling Friends knocks it out of the park.

*Lynda Carter - KEPT her Beauty, as she Got Older!!!*
BUT
*Jane BadLer, LOST her Beauty!*

The interviewer is asking shit questions and Jane for someone who is near 60 you look amazing.

Darth Vader vs. Diana! Who would win & why!?
Know offence but I loved her hot sultry low voice, here she sounds like a squeaky Kylie wannabie! Still love Jane's character.
