Probably because of how they have all been through hell together and now, they are all parting ways (without any recollection of said events). Usually, people part ways with a memory. But here, it’s unlikely anyone will remember anything. Including the ice station at the start. The dream crabs probably worked as one in bringing these people together, just so they could feast. The easiest way for them to do this is by sticking them in the same dream. See this as sticking all of your pasta into one cooking pot. It just makes it easier if it’s all in one pot.
So that’s probably why you felt a little emotional. Or, it could have been the fact that such a brilliant episode was coming to an end. That was pretty sad!
Because the magic of Christmas makes everything turn out right.

i knew it. i knew santa clause was connected with the doctor. it makes total sense. a little known connection with the doctor is the easter bunny.

My favorite part is the end where I'm clearly finishing a weird therapy session with Peter Capaldi that's sponsored by BBC's CZcams channel for some reason.
“It’s a pity we have to wake up really, it’s not something you do everyday is it?” This confuses me like does she mean a metaphorical awakening or literally wake up?
Victor Peterson I think she meant knowing you have to wake up while still in the dream and knowing a great adventure is over now.

Not sure if anyone else realized it.... but the reason Clara wanted to stay 'a little longer' is because she wanted to die. That was the first sign of her suicidal state.
