      There's a seller called japan4you on eBay, pretty sure they have cheap shipping internationally and I've gotten over 15 different DS/gameboy models from them
      They have some extremely cheap items every now and then, for example I paid 6 dollars for a gameboy that was dirty and after taking it apart and washing it looks brand new
      Just make sure that whatever you're getting isn't region locked, so that it works just fine outside of asia/asian games. The PSP isn't region locked however the O and X buttons will be reversed on asian units which you can change by installing the CFW and they are dirt cheap, I paid 11 dollars for a PSP-1000
      The Retro Future channel also refurbs a lot of items that he's bought from the same seller
      I don't know, this just seems like a way better option to me where I can bookmark their store page and take a look every now and then and instantly buy something I like without bidding, and since I've never had any issues with their packaging or products and the descriptions are always accurate I have no risk of losing anything

      @@oswith971 Hey, just wanted to randomly thank you for mentioning Japan4You as I didn't know of them before and since I saw your comment I've ordered a PSP 1000 & 2000.
      My PSP Slim has just arrived today and it only cost me 17 euros with shipping which in general is less than 20 dollars. They said that the analog stick wasn't working but it worked and the only thing that was bad was the screen which isn't much of an issue and the console is in perfect condition.
      At the time when I was going through their listings a champagne gold 1000 has appeared in a great condition without issues and now I'm just waiting for it to arrive as well.
      So yeah, a great recommendation indeed!

    • @oswith971
      @oswith971 Před 5 lety +3

      in my experience with most handheld consoles the problem is always something simple like a dirty power switch or something else that takes less than 30minutes to troubleshoot and fix
      The one thing you should really pay attention to is corrosion, obviously people wont show pictures of the items being taken apart but if you see green battery contacts on a gameboy or something then there's a good chance the inside will look exactly the same if someone left old batteries there for like 10 years

    From my experience changing entire shells on the PSP is definitely not worth the time. The are way too many small screws. LCD or front plate replacement is rather easy. Faulty trigger buttons are tricky as it requires moderate disassembly. "No power" listings sometimes can be a bad battery but more likely it is a blown fuse which is near impossible to fix.
