The opening scene with this smaller goji was so brutal. Loved every second of it. I want this figure really bad! 😫
What a way to start a movie, huh? Just a random landing on Odo Island… and then to have the entire squad taken out in such a fit of brutality.. that’s how you kick it off man. Thats how you scare people.

Godzilla minus one is a masterpiece. A true classic! I saw it twice in cinema and would have loved to watch it a 3rd time. But they quit showing it so now I can only wait for the bluray release. Minus one, best movie I've watched in years! I hope we get more awesome movie related merch.
@@ShinRobjira It threw me off in theaters because I wasn't expecting to run into him so soon, but holy hell was it awesome. He started grabbing people and I was like "Godzilla doesn't usually eat people what's up with that," but instead he YEETED them into the sky and I was like damnnnn.

Ngl his pre irradiated appearance in the movie was a little more scary than actual goji since he literally stared into the humans' eyes. The scene literally had me shaking in my seat.
This figure really does justice to one of the best intros to any Godzilla movie ever, although they missed out on a perfecttt opportunity to call him Godzillasaurus
One of the best intros it very much is. WOW. What a way to kick it off!!
I think the only reason he’s not called Godzillasaurus is because Yamazaki has been kind of teasing that Godzilla has a bit more of a “fantastical” origin to him. Likening him to a living breathing curse. So… I’m curious how he’d further build that up in a sequel, or two.
Missed opportunity to name the figure Godzillasaurus (2023)

@@ShinRobjira Sort of like the "tatarigami" or gods become demons like in Princess Mononoke? Also, my theory is that he was once a peaceful dinosaur-god living on and around Odo Island, but became violent once Imperial Japan started expanding and invading other places, including Odo Island.
Perhaps this can be explored in a prequel, Godzilla: Minus 2?
The didn't call him Godzillasaurus possibly to avoid confusing him with the Godzillasaurus seen in the Heisei films
He was used so perfectly in the movie, and now I can get him in figure form. All we need is Monster arts, Super 7, or/and Hiya to make a figure of him.
Would love it if Hiya and Xplus could show this guy some love! I love the figure, don’t get me wrong, but he needs more ferocity to him. So anyone, everyone, show OdoGoji some love!!!

Tbh this figure was quite a surprise never thought they’d do it nevertheless a great addition to the mms line. That opening combat scene with pre irradiated M1 was actually insane too.
That scene will remain rent free in my brain. Like holy hell man… what a way to start a new Godzilla movie! And just the fact that the weight of that scene sticks around the entire movie.

@@ShinRobjira that whole scene had me yelling OH MY GOD(zilla) Minus One was an actual work of cinematic art as it now resides at my #1 Godzilla film putting Shin below it at #2. God I would die just to watch it again as if I haven’t already seen it.
The tail reminds me of a long shogun Godzilla pickle tail but just more brown and has spikes

That whole scene gave off some Jurassic Park vibes on top of him looking very Dinosaurian. Yamazaki needs a sequel deal, right now!
It was so awesome that they introduced this dino Goji as a jumpscare. Opening was so awesome and scary. I also like that this being a way of getting an original design for the movie that wasn't just a modified Ride Goji. And how he kinda resemble the Goji from that one cancelled American project from the 80s by Steve Miner, especially in the storyboard drawings. And to me personally, he also reminds me of Feraligatr from Pokémon. So basically, Odo Island Goji is a cool design.
Man I almost like parts of the pre-nuke Goji better as far as a design goes. Really loved the shape and proportions of the head especially the close-ups we got in the film, glad the figure turned out as good as it did!
I completely agree. I honestly think his final form is a little bit of a step backward.
@@butchersblade7068 Yeah it just feels like a lumpier Heisei design when this thing had its own vibe, even when he looks down on the men on Odo island I love the face that and something just kinda felt more alive. Knowing that the budget was so low, I'm wondering if that factored into using 'The Ride' Godzilla design as a base and that's why there's a slight disconnect between the two?
Nah, it would look way too close to Zilla. Final form was pretty decent. Shin Godzilla is PEAK though

It’s absolutely very very high up there for me as well! It’s going to be a hard act to follow in Toho’s case, which only makes sequel talk all the more interesting 👀

I manage to watch Minus One a couple of weeks ago and I love it. Definitely one of my favorite Godzilla movies ever made despite some things I didn't like. I still like it regardless.
Can't wait to see what other Godzilla things will come in the future aside from the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire movie that's coming.
I’m sure Bandai and Hiya (amongst others) have more than enough merchandising planned ready for next year to eat our money up, something relentless lol

That first 10 minutes of Minus One with pre-nuke Godzilla was the best Jurassic Park film we’ve gotten in years. By the way is anyone else reminded of one of the concept arts of Godzilla 2014? Specifically the one with the more dinosaurian head? Because that’s what it reminds me of.
To be completely honest, they could have used this design throughout the entire movie, and I would have been giddy about it. I absolutely love this look for Godzilla, even more than his post radiation bath design. It's more primal and realistic looking. Can't wait to get this figure.
So as someone who tries to catch up with paleontology, I like to think that his scars are from others of his kind as actual carnivorous dinosaurs do have evidence of inter-species combat in the fossil record.
Interesting, if that’s the case, I wonder where the rest of his kind went.. or just how old he is before getting irradiated.
They got zapped too and are growing to be monster sized for Godzilla Minus One Plus One!

I've never bought one of these things before, but I was so impressed by "creature Godzilla", the way he comes off like a rage crazed wrestler, that I thought it was time for me to buy one if they made one of pre radiation Godzilla. I'm glad I stumbled into your hilariously enthusiastic and detailed about the details review. And I'm glad that the opening 20 minutes are not just a thing with me but other people realize that that was special too. I ordered mine today from Amazon on the strength of your review.

What a way to bring back the Godzillasaurus! I remember when I saw the movie in theaters, i missed the first little bit and walked in on this mighty sea saurian slaughtering the soldiers. What a magnificent beast!! I was so happy to see the Godzillasaurus again. I'll definitely try to get this figurine if I can find it for a decent price.
Having seen the movie 6 times yeah there are open wounds across the Minusasaurus. I assumed they were weapon damage but they look in some cases like claw damage either from fighting another one or a another different monster
Curious little detail to have on an island with seemingly (assumedly) just ONE monster on it… I wonder what’s going on there.

I've been avoiding this review out of sheer Jealousy, because it's easily my favourite from of him and I was not able to get it, but today I found a small import online retailer in the UK selling him for £34 and I folded and got it. Should be here in a few days, I can't wait. This guys appearance was the most terrifying godzilla had ever been. Usually I don't bother with Vinyls but the sheer amount of details really impressed me. Also, I'll be taking off the tag, I know yall will love that.

Man it took so long to get it in stock here. I finally got it for around $15-20. Imma apologize to you, Rob. I kinda feel you oversell the damn thing in this review prior. But now that it is in my own hand, it's just THAT good of a vinyl. Probably the best I own. I'm surprised with how much the detail pop in person, it felt like a braille even. Usually with vinyls they kinda toned it down, a bit more smoothen and dulled. Even fellow MMS like Servum got less pronounced details. But this one, man this felt like those old Bandai America vinyls I owned as a kid. I remember how sharp and pronounced the texture on their Mothra and Gigan that I own was. Gerard Goji is one of my fav now

This is Zilla minus one cause he has slender body a bunch of angled dorsal plates on its back and with a more leaning posture this fits the description
The way the minus one godzillasaurus moved was horrific a fast and aggressive killer I wish more versions Godzilla's were fast it just makes him more scary for some reason

Wow, I legit never expected them to make a figure of this form. I’m not upset that they did though, because this is personally my favorite evolving Goji. This movie just went way harder than it needed to, but damn it paid off in the end. The story, the characters, the action, Godzilla himself being such a spectacle, yet the focus is on what he can do not on the creature itself. Amazing film, amazing designs. Can’t recommend enough, and I may grab this figure because I love everything about this Godzilla
I'mma be honest with you Rob, I bought this guy wanting to use him as a stand in for a MV Zilla, and it's works so well, so from now on this little guy is Zilla to me (and I mean that in the nicest way imaginable)
I'd like to get this one sometime. Would be a worthy addition to the collection!
I re-watched some clips from that scene of Odo Island Goji and now I can see the scars on his body, especially on his neck when he roars

The name the Odo Island natives used for Godzilla, which is 呉爾羅, is based on kanji, which in turn is based on the Chinese script. The characters were chosen just for their sound only, because, as you have mentioned, you will only get gibberish when you machine-translate it either through Google Translate or DeepL. The more familiar Japanese word of Godzilla, which is ゴヂラ, is written in katakana

I would prefer Hiya do it because both SHMA and Super7 are disappointing in price to quality and I like articulated figures, which rules out X-Plus for me

As cool as it is to see, I don't really love this godzillasaurus design because it's kind of awkward with the hunched posture
