For this episode, we dive more into the Acura Integra's body work and showing you just how bad the body of a car can be to the untrained eye if you don't have body shop experience. We also show you what happens when you skip steps in the paint process, and how cheaping out on paint can really mess your car up. Thanks for watching!

How much should a quality paint job cost? I want my car to get painted but I don't know the price range. I have tried to look it up but all I am able to find is either cheap paint jobs or people saying wrapping is less expensive

leone striker it’s all about the prep and how much work has to be done to it. A quality job could be $2,000 on up to $10,000 depending on how crazy you get with it.

devinx6 Agreed. Most people stop at around 600 grit so the paint has something to bite into. Pretty much any automotive paint self levels and fills up a 4-600 grit texture.

    Hey David.
I use to work in a paint shop and I can tell you it is a very labor intensive job. People think painting a car is easy. It's all in the prep. The more prep time the better the overall job will be.
I am about to embark on a custom paint job for my 86 supra soon enough so seeing this and reminding me of the process was good. I remember it isn't a quick thing it takes days of prep to get a really smooth finish. Worth it for sure but more work then most realise.

Been doing custom paint and body 28 years. I don’t think people realize the amount of time it takes to do things right. When they hear how much it costs, they go the wrap route which in my opinion is a bandaid on a bullet wound. You’re not even to primer yet and you look spent. Then you will be blocking it forever, probably find other low spots at that point and have to glaze areas, reprime then repeat. Then it has to be dirt free before base. Clear then cut and buff which can take days to do right. It’s a major process which I’m currently in the middle of. Makes it a bit more challenging when you can’t walk like me but that’s a minor detail.

I just painted my Front bumper white and my hood black with 2k professional paint, I ran it through an LVLP on my tiny bostitch compressor from lowes, it came out legit I can't even believe how good it looks, just the slightest orange peel on the clear but not even noticeable and honestly I could color sand and buff it out but I'm not even going to bother. For primer, paint and 2k clear, filters, sand paper etc it cost me about 250 bucks to do my bumper, hood and license plate section of my del sol.

A good trick ive been taught is that if you are gonna fix up and paint a car make sure to paint it white. Because if it is bright white you can half ass the bodywork and most people wont ever notice the small imperfections. Never paint a car gloss black either because it is like a mirror and will show every ripple, imperfection, or wave in the bodywork.

Hi, Billy Mays here for Mighty Putty, the easy way to fix, fill and seal virtually anything
    fast and make it last!
Mighty Putty is not a glue, but a super-powered epoxy that you can mold to any shape
and apply directly to most any surface for an everlasting bond.
Ordinary epoxies are a mixing mess. With Mighty Putty, you just cut like dough, simply
knead to activate, apply and let dry.
It has the muscle to support up to 350 pounds.
Rebuild a damage tool to work like new or make car repairs and save money. Drills,
holes and screws can ruin your project. With Mighty Putty, you just cut, activate and
    apply.
Here’s something you can’t do with glue: Mighty Putty seals leaks instantly. Use it on
pipes and faucets for a permanent seal. As you knead, it activates, turning from green to
white to show it’s ready to hold on tight.
It has the strength to pull this fully loaded 80,000-pound tractor trailer! Now that’s the
    power of Mighty Putty!
Whether it’s tile to wood, metal to glass, any job big or small, Mighty Putty repairs them
all. Fill cracks in ceilings, walls, and floors. Mold it to furniture, sand and paint for a
    seamless repair.
And it’s ideal for all your crafting projects.
There’s nothing you can’t do with Mighty Putty.
Call now and we’ll send you two powerful sticks of Mighty Putty for only $19.99. But
through this exclusive TV offer, we’ll double it and send you two more sticks free.
Mighty Putty will pay for itself the very first time.
But I’m not done yet. Call right now and I’ll triple the offer, and send you six sticks of
Mighty Putty for the same old price of $19.99.

Body filler is the correct industry term for modern day fillers. Bondo is a name brand that was created way back in the day ( i want to say 60's and 70's) for a body filler product that was crap and had many, many issues with cracking, falling off, pealing, etc. Hence the reason why bondo is avoided in the industry with professionals, they do not want to be associated with the term. You will find the people who do not care (me) but do know the difference and can explain it, then the un-educated that assume all body filler is bondo.
