I saw it live, it was very distressing, the way opponents HUMILIATED Atalji for two consecutive days, this are the LAST few minutes of the two day humiliation.
Atalji faced it and replied with pride and dignity. Only a strong man can withstand such a storm, especially when he was RIGHT.
I recollected Samudramantahn, Chakravuyh. Atalji was unshattered. While me, as a patriot was completely shattered.

Same people didn't vote for him in 2nd term in 2004. He definitely deserved more. People could vote for Manmohan's UPA govt. for two consecutive terms but didn't give him 2nd term. I fail to understand the mood of citizens, everybody praise him so much but what did they gave him in return?
Today's youth, you and me who were just children then, praises him. Ask your parents, they still do not understand his contribution. My mom still tells us that "mehangai badh gyi thi inke time" (inflation had risen too much in his tenure), but in reality the normal inflation rate was way lesser than the following UPA regime.

I've noticed people praising the greatness of Vajpayee ji and drawing comparisons with Modi. Interestingly, even though social media wasn't prevalent at that time, those very individuals criticized Vajpayee ji significantly during his tenure. Fast forward to today, the focus is on Modi. I can't help but think that after the Modi era, these same individuals will likely laud Modi's accomplishments and direct criticism towards whoever leads the BJP government at that time.
At least he wasn't greedy for power.

My family was and is Congress supporters (I'm non-political). But Atal Bihari Vajpayee was always respected as our PM. Great leader. Even now my elders sometimes bring him in their talks and always in appreciation.
