  • A couple of weeks back we sprayed on Poly Primer which is basically liquid Bondo. It fills in small voids, dries hard and is a real pain to sand.

She looking great Chuck. Reminds me of the old quote, "the chicken is involved, the pig is committed."

Chuck, I have respect for you asking for guidance on sanding. Anybody can sand, but takes knowledge to do it the right way for best results. Keep up the good work and the good content.

    *Chuck!*
One thing you'll never hear a peep out of me on is bodywork/paint on cars - I literally have nothing of
substance to offer on the subject. Further, I am in genuine awe of those who do it well - it's like magic
to an old shadetree like me, since I've never done much of it.
I do love watching skilled folks do it, though - heck, that's true of skilled folks in a lot of things in life,
I suppose - lots of respect and appreciation from me to them.
I'd love to have done one from scratch like you are here Chuck, but my time has passed as you know...
So more power to ya and I'll just enjoy the show as I have since you started this channel, my friend.

    Chuck,
Those different inside curves will block down better with various diameter cardboard tubes cut to sanding block length... And the different P.S.A. backed papers stuck on... Thanks for the mention of the gun tip size. I recently purchased a 2.5 tipped gun for work here. Later, Frank.

Thanks for the shout out chuck. The big thing you pointed out was let it cure good before sanding so it shrinks. Its a lot of sanding but worth it. As long as you cross hatch sand it you will get it straight. The sand throughs. Most dont know that means stop sanding and high build prime fill it. Good you pointed that out to guys starting out. I cracked up about the porn link. My god hope that dont happen on my channel lol. Well when your done with the 65 you will win arm wrestling contests with those for arms lol. Oh i started the d100 video series on poor mans drag truck. Bound to be worth a laugh 😂

Chuck....you seem worried about a lot. Bottom line is your doing great. It is what it is. Are you making a trailer Queen or a drive it to the show? Or restoration to sell? Either way the car is going to be better than what the factory did. So you win. You have mopar blood running thru your veins like the rest of us. No worries.

Thanks man, with this amount of work and expense I really want it to be pretty close to as perfect as I can get it. Not knowing what will cover with primer is part of the problem.
She'll be a trailer queen that I'll drive the hell out of.
