- Monk deals damage according to the formula 0.6 +0.3*(x**4) , where x is a random number between 0 and 1. This means that, while technically Monk can deal up to 0.9 damage, he only has a 10% chance of dealing 0.8 or more. In fact, most of his shots inflict between 0.6 and 0.65 damage, which is much lower than what I said in the video.
Also, Saint and slugpups do the same damage as the Monk.

For most weapons, damage = 0.12 so health = 1/0.12 = 8.33
- Aquapedes (the formula does not work for other centipedes) :
health = 0.9/damage*(1.3+(0.075-1.3)*((size/2)**0.5))
If we take damage = 1, then health = 0.9/(1.3+(0.075-1.3)*((size/2)**0.5))
DamageMultiplier = 1+0.45*size**0.65
For aquapedes, size ranges between 0.9 and 1.8
- How the game calculates the probability of death when a creature has low health :
For most creatures (not all of them), if health is below 0, then they have a (-health*2.5)% chance of dying every frame
If health =0, then (-0)*2.5 = 0% chance of dying

Spearmaster has a unique interaction with the giant jellyfish. They instantly kill it, before gaining 10 food pips.
But where can you even find it as Spearmaster? I guess only in the arena.

@@prysm2735 No, how would SS be available for Spearmaster? When it is literally moon's collapsed superstructure, and as Spearmaster you visit Looks to the Moon region before it is collapsed, that is what would later be SS.
Spearmaster also doesn't have Shoreline, because it is replaced with Waterfront Facility. There are no giant jellyfish iirc.
I think it's likely impossible to find it as spearmaster outside of the arena.

Gourmand, with his ground pound and slams and TRIPLE damage spears makes him a nuclear warhead in comparison to Hunter or Artificer

kind of weird how the zoop/strawberry lizard has 2.4 hp despite physically being smaller than the blue lizard, yet the blue lizard only has 1 hp. Truly the blue is the runt of the lizard species
Being fast and agile comes at a cost, I guess. Zoop lizard kinda exploited that by taking a low cost trait (tounge) and using that for mobility instead
Heck, the Zoop lizard is considered prey to every other lizard.
Gourmand deals 3 damage per spear? This guy isn't out of shape, this guy is a pure sumo wrestler wtf

I,ve been raising one through a survivor run, biggest pain in the ass I’ve ever had to deal with, I almost just threw the slug pup off a cliff.

They're getting eaten
So if anyone is wondering... the Hunter Daddy/Hunter Long Legs is a unique enemy only seen after you permanently die in a Hunter run(outside of starvation). If you go to the room you suffered the Hunter perma-death in in the Gourmand's campaign the Hunter Long Legs will appear there. It is highly implied that this unique enemy is an undead version of the Hunter that has had their corpse reanimated by rot. They are also the only Rot enemy that has the ability to see(despite the fact that the Hunter's corpse has their eyes closed in a cross pattern), but curiously I never found any information about them being able to hear.
I went my whole life without knowing that the Rainworld Creatures actually had a set amount of HP. I actually thought they had like, body segments that took damage differently to mimic vital organs or something like that.
Shows how well-made they are. No need for a health bar when you can actually see the effects of your attacks, and, by extension, the illusion that they're alive becomes stronger too.

I never knew about the way the game calculates life after hp below 0! It’s such a creative way to simulate a dying but not dead animal.
You can actually kill the king scav when they still have armor, it was how I won my arti campaign, though I'm not entirely sure how.
Bites? I stunlocked them and bited (clawed) them until they died, it was pretty fast so I thought they pierce armor because of the way damage is dealt
@@14dyingstars I thought about it for a bit, and I think it was because I speared them while almost entirely on top of them, which may have just bypassed the armor.
hey i did too! i mostly used the strat of "dont let him get any spears or bombs period" and used mauls a lot, though i did throw a spear once or twice, and the second spear stuck in him? it was weird, but then he died so
Something strange I noticed about creatures’ hp points is that they almost always vary. Sometimes I’m playing spearmaster and a dropwig survives my spear hit, others just instantly die. This happens with ALL species of lizor and all insect-like creatures, as far as I know.
fun fact, some of these enemies will appear in tge survivor campaign if you have downpour installed, ive already been chased by an aquapede and teal lizard in shoreline, theyre pretty rare though.
I would also like to say that there are weak points that do more damage on almost everything, experiment to find out where, throat shots destroy lizards, the heads of centipedes are particularly less armored, etc.
I am not sure if Centipedes take extra damage from the head. Most things do. Lizards take more damage and more importantly a longer stun from mouth shots though. The stun very substantial and lets you do a few more hits before the lizard gets up. This works even on Reds although getting close to a Red's mouth is inadvisable.
For Vultures its the base of the head unprotected by mask (not the neck. Neck does extra damage as well but head also drops the mask).
Not sure about Miros Birds/Vultures.
For all rot creatures its the Core. (More accurately Core is the only lethal place to hit on a Rot creature as the game tracks tentacle health and core health separately.)
For Scavs its the head.
Spearmaster deals 1.5* correction
And mother longlegs have huge regeneration(about 10 a millisecond),meaning that they cannot be killed in normal ways except a singularity bomb

Can you tell me where you got that information? Looking at the code, it looks like hunter, artificer and spearmaster deal exactly the same damage, so I don't know where you got that value.
Regarding MLLs, I haven't found any evidence that they can regenerate health, so I have no idea if it's true

While they do deal some _extremely _*_minor_* damage, they _can_ be pretty useful.
They deal 0.01 damage.
They’re only useful against hydras because hydras take the same damage from any thrown object. They only deal 0.01 damage to any other enemy, though.

It's pretty random but the more sparks it has after being thrown at a creature the more damage it will deal
The mini-explosions each do 0.6 points of damage and the final explosion does 4.2, or 0.2 and 1.8 respectively if the spear hits an appendage (such as a vulture's wings). I'm also pretty sure that an explosive spear deals additional damage equal to that of a normal spear when it hits a creature. I just don't know how many mini-explosions can occur in total.

Since inspectors only take a certain amount of damage from *thrown* weapons can't you kill them with gourmand or a lizard since it's not thrown damage it's more biting and getting squashed

You can hold their hand by tapping pick up or carry them piggyback. Last one needs you to pick them up while crouching or hold pick up for a second while holding their hand. Last one is way better because 2 free hands and you dont accidentally yeet them

it’s crazy bc I played through all of the slugcat campaigns and never saw a stowaway in any of them, I still don’t know where you find one or what they do
the stowaways are the rarest enemies in the game. u pretty much have to seek them to actually find them
I believe there's multiple guaranteed spots for one in Undergrowth, I've been killed by one too many times while trying to travel
The esyest to kill zoop lizard is by gourmander
If apuapede is on land it moves very slowly
The purple long legs are grandfather long legs and there is a special type of brother long legs you can encounter in garbage wastes that is as large as a DLL and is called a mother long legs
There is no such thing as "grandfather long legs" there are only brother, daddy and mommy long legs, the other ones are simply a recolor of these 3

Both spearmaster and arti deal 1 damage per spear, hunter and gourmand are the only ones with increased spear damage
I'm pretty sure they all do the same damage. If you try to hit monster kelp (which has 2.5 HP) with these slugcats and the Health Bars mod enabled, you'll see that it reaches 0 HP in exactly 2 hits
I'm pretty sure both hunter and spearmaster need 3 hits to kill a monster kelp before it retracts to its hole though...
