So How do Electric Spears Work?

- Electric spear spawn probabilities (found them in the code, don't know if i'm correct) :
Outside the Scavenger Treasuries :
- Spearmaster : 8.2% chance to replace normal spears
- Artificer : 6.5% chance to replace normal spears
- Hunter : 1.1% chance to replace normal spears
- Gourmand : 0.8% chance to replace normal spears
- Others (Survivor, Monk, Rivulet, Saint) : 0% chance to replace normal spears
Electric spears should always be charged if spawned outside the treasuries
In Scavenger Treasuries :
- Spearmaster/Artificer : 50% chance to replace spears, 75% chance to be charged
- Hunter/Gourmand : 5% chance to replace spears, 25% chance to be charged
- Survivor/Monk : 2% chance to replace spears, 1% chance to be charged
- Rivulet/Saint : 0% chance to replace spears, 0% chance to be charged
- In Metropolis : 75% chance to replace spears, 100% chance to be charged

you can also pull electric spears out of walls, even if they’re not charged. Although it’s hard to time, you can use this to climb walls.
Tbh it's not very hard to time, just jump and grab at the same time then throw when you feel like it.
you can also do this with every spear if you turn the option on in the remix menu
i have my settings set to “classic” for every option except for pulling spears out of walls, its a really big quality of life change for me i hated losing spears by accidentally nailing them to walls

the electric spear is the only reason i was able to complete a maximum point run on expedition as saint, if you carry around a dead baby centipede you can recharge it indefinitely, meaning you can easily and portably kill just about anything including Miros Birds / Miros Vultures with very little set up by keeping the creature stun locked until your spear short circuits, for which you set the baby centipede down and stab it with the spear once more
But the saint cannot use spears at all?

Well shit guess it's time for an expedition.
Something to keep in mind are brother, daddy, and mother long legs invulnerability to electrocution if you attempt to kill them. For the apex predator mission, try explosive spears!
Long Legs are not really invulnerable to electrocution: they still take the 0.1 damage bonus and Brother Long Legs can still be stunned for a short time by them. I think that Mother and Daddy Long Legs cannot be stunned by electric spears because their stun resistance values are too high
If not in apex predator then artificer is the bigest counter to dll

Lets be honest we all thought the discharged spears were just fancy textured spears when we first found them
Rain World reminds me a lot of the hundreds of hours that I've played Zelda: Breath of the Wild
In the way that, every time I play the game or watch a video on it, I learn something new that I would have never known even after all of time that the base game has been out and countless hours I put into it. I'm sure the same will be said for the dlc years from now.
It's like the game is brand new every time I load it up and explore or decide to watch some content, it's a great feeling, and that's something I can't say for a lot of games nowadays :)

Ohhh I've always wondered what those weird tipped spears are that didn't seem to have any changes about them. They were just random discharged spears I found.
Wth, i just started to play rain world a few days ago and thought those were just fancy looking/lore related weapons for the scavs, like something a shaman would use instead of normal spears. Feeling quite dumb right now, good thing i kept a few i hoarded inside a shelter LOL

I find it pretty interesting that you actually got a yellow inspector during your showcase their kind of rare they have a small chance of showing up at any given time but those kind of unexpected that it just sort of appeared in your video and I'm pretty sure you didn't even know that was a possibility or you did because I'm surprised no one else pointed it out
Yellow Inspectors only spawn in Looks to the Moon in Spearmaster's campaign I think
Are all of the spears with the decorated tips just discharged electric spears? Or are they fancy looking regular ones, because I've always thought electric spears reverted to regular ones once discharged so that's interesting

unless it's a glowing tip, then it's a fire spear, but that shouldn't come up outside of that one saint exclusive region unless you have emerald's tweaks.

I'm curious if say a lizard is carrying a still living creature would the E spear damage the carried creature if you hit the lizard? Since they are touching I guess.

The spear spawn chances don't seem right? I don't think I've ever seen one outside a treasury, and I don't think I've ever seen one charged period, for all the time I've spent with artificer.
I usually tend to miss them, stuck in the ground they look basically identical to normal spears when discharged,
That's how they're supposed to be, very rare for artificer and no one else gets them laying around randomly.
Well tbf in CC and PY you can find elite scavs and they tend to carry them.
I also noticed that the code didn't really match what I found in the game, that's why I didn't want to put this info in the video

No. As far as I know they regenerate 500 health per second while having 500 health. Maybe you can do that with 4 players having two explosive spears in their hands but I haven't tested that

@@high_intelligence_specimen looking at the wiki, it doesn't say they regenerate, and they have 400 hp instead of 500.
Assuming the explosive spears deal 10 points of damage each (which I'm pretty sure is higher than the actual value), you'd have to throw 40 of them into its core in a single cycle without dying. I guess it's technically possible, but it would be extremely difficult to do
