I started watching towards the end of covid and Caleb inspired me to go and find games at pawnshops etc but to grow a small collection and make a small side hustle. I do not want to put Caleb on blast because I know he is running the channel from a business perspective, but I definitely miss the hunting and Gamecube gambit-style videos. I love Mission Switch but I think that because the videos are so spread apart it isn't as enjoyable. With all that said I still wish the best for Caleb and his business and will continue to watch the videos.

Most people would rather live vicariously through others than put in a bunch of time and effort into something, no matter how much the benefit it could be to them. I used to be one of those people, but I feel my life has improved since I started putting in an uncomfortable amount of effort into things.
I personally love (besides Mission Switch) watching you go to conventions and trying out different challenges like that one in Florida where you bought a whole box of switch games blindly and made a huge unexpected profit. They’re so much fun to watch and really inspire me to go out and try fun things like that.

Personally I see what people are saying but I disagree you are a sell out. This is your career so maxing out everything is a need. A lot of these people don't understand the business side of things.
I think we need a new challenge. Perhaps the flip concept again, start with 10 dollars ...build a retro game collection that you would be proud of as a collector, then perhaps at the end auction it off on Whatnot.

As someone running an online business, although in a different industry, I enjoy watching these videos about your business and all your ideas and thoughts with regard to it. I would say just bring more balance to the videos you put out or post more often on your main channel because people, including myself, do really enjoy watching your pawn shop videos and doing deals in person with people.
I think your audience also matters on the type of content that you make. You are a growing channel and you are attracting more people that aren't resalers. My first video was the game store interviews that you've created and now I'm deep in the rabbit hole of your business, your flips, and all your side missions. You'll always have older subscribers that want the old you, but you'll also have newer subscribers that know the new you.. if that makes sense.
Random thought about your buy list. I know you update it monthly. I'm assuming that is just updating the items that are already on there? How do you go about adding new items? For instance a handful of xbox 360 games have spiked because the digital copies are going away (or something like that) do you keep an eye out for stuff like that to add to the list? If you aren't out sourcing like you used to how do you keep up with the ever changing gaming market?

If you've been following Caleb from the early days then you've gotten a lot of valuable information and insights into reselling. I wouldn't have my Amazon business if I hadn't discovered his channel. With that being said, few if any of us will ever have the social media presence he has been able to build and won't be able to replicate where his business has gone. Honestly I really don't watch the main channel anymore but I do still drop by here for the behind the scenes glimpses into the business. Sometimes you outgrow the content and that isn't the content creator's fault. There's several channels I used to watch were the content changed as the channel grew and they got away from what brought me there in the first place. That is okay and it doesn't make anyone a sellout.
I’ve personally enjoyed the progression of your videos and am interested in seeing whatever it is you’re up to. The sourcing phase was fun but you’ve already been there and done that. Your business has evolved now. Some will want you to do the same thing forever but really you should just do what YOU want since that is when your content will be best. I think CZcams video game sellers in general give up WAY more information in general than they need to. Not only does giving up some of your sources and honey holes hurt your potential business on the sourcing end, but then it also hurts that those folks are potentially selling against you. I think sellers and collectors can all work together To AN EXTENT. But at the same point, we can't hand hold everyone through every piece of every thing of we would have no reason to run our own business. Some folks just don't want to do the work. How do you balance funds available to pay invoices vs sales volume? So if you have a week with a HUGE amount of inbound inventory but the outbound money is draining the account quicker than the sales volume and amazon payouts, what do you do? Do you foresee maybe having to slow down or even shutting down the accepted flips if the amount of submittable batches if the volume gets too much?
This is exactly my concern with alot of these "buylist" systems various high volume sellers have. Sure, that 30 - 40%+ margin is there, and things are most likely selling quickly, however at the other hand, main concern is cash flow, and the turn around time of that money. For amazon to fully recieve/process shipments, that's atleast a 2-3+ week process (I use to send a bunch to FBA myself), and during that time period of amazon processing, you are still buying inventory, so it's really hard to see where the room for profit with that system in the short term. Then again, to apply to sell within the renewed program, that's atleast a $60,000+ process, so you'd assume he has some very stable cash flow at this point.
Here's my serious question about the video game selling business. Since business' like yours are popping up more and scaling up to process more volume. Do you think there will be a slow down in supply of older games? Do you anticipate any change in demand for older video games in the future?
So just to clarify, the whole point of the app is to basically find & locate deals on video games as well as gaming related material. If caleb chooses to center his business around the app itself thats great! But the whole app however is not in fact centered around his own personal business

How is your work/life balance hosting your business at home? How do you think that balance will shift for you if you and Erika have kids? For me, I vend at about 15 conventions a year and it's a challenge being a dad, husband, and teacher while simultaneously running a small business and trying to make deals for collections and hit up yard sales, etc
You said "insurance"... You better have business insurance lol. A personal policy will limit your coverage for items used for a business, and its clear based on your social media what the items are used for.

I had someone bring me a trade. It was a Wii in a box. It would have been CIB, but they admitted taking the games out (Sports and Sports Resort) to sell to you since it was a better flip for them that way and you won't take the consoles. The game is to be sold not told. That being said this man found his business model that works. Why would he give that up to potentially have his customers go somewhere else. It’s business and most individuals do not understand business. You can give steps to the money but don’t pave the road. Don’t want to sound like an ass but to put it bluntly, figure it it out yourself. You’re a grown adult.

"Get yours while you can" - if you can convince simps to send you stuff to sell for profit and call that a "service" more power to you! Middle men will always exist.
It seems that because you have created these videos and taught everyone how to make money easily (or how it is perceived in the videos) you have basically made competition (whether you think this is a community of collaborating resellers or not) so when people start trying to get on Amazon because you can sell something for way above value on that platform, you don’t want competition. But you literally would have had none if you didn’t make any videos teaching people how to get a quick buck. Thus you would have been likely to not have any competition and make a decent amount of money, there wouldn’t be a boom of way too many resellers trying to get into this market, and the collectors can actually have a great time collecting video games, rather than having to spend a fortune on a couple of video games.
its true you cant please everyone, doesn't matter the price, condition or the way you ship orders. lots of people will be happy but then you will get the people who make false claims about the condition, quality of shipping or whatever. one reason I started to stream my whatnot shows live to youtube and then trying to pack up some of the orders (if any) on youtube after the whatnot stream. I do this not because it takes me longer to say pack an order, but so I can have a record of how I packed an order and the items in that order. it also gives people a better idea of how their order will ship. its also a CYA in the event of any dsputes even more so if I do it all live on camera. and IMOA if I stream my whatnot shows to TY it gives a wider reach for my show and the deals that can happen and hopefully get more followers or buyers on my streams. I try to focus on the subjects and material I have a passion and love for. sure I would love to have multiple bins of items and a larger scope. its just easier to just focus on what you know then having your fingers in multiple cookie jars. with that being said If the price is right and I can flip it on say ebay, whatnot or facebook marketplace I will try it out. with that being said shipping from Canada to say the USA, EU etc istn cheap with Canada Post no matter the platform and I wish there was an easier way to be able to integrate a cross border shipping service so I could more accuratly charge people for shipping using the courier of their choice. I cant wait to get my testing rig wired into my computer so I can do live testing of games by request in the even a buyer wants to see a title working and let people know my testing methods to help give people a better respects and understanding of what it takes to be a quality reseller like yourself.

So I'll be straight up as an Australian viewer I'm here for the hunting content just to see what's out in the wild in America. The reselling stuff doesn't really work for me as 1 prices are wildy different and 2 I'm not a seller.

Its mostly that fhe majority of people that watch just watch for your fun challenge videos and you looking for cool stuff and so on. Most people on average that watch probly aren't resellers, so because of that all of the reseller stuff isn't really appealing. Not that they are bad or people don't particularly like them... that's just not what they started watching you for.

Sure, that 30 - 40%+ margin is there, and things are most likely selling quickly, however at the other hand, main concern is cash flow, and the turn around time of that money. For amazon to fully recieve/process shipments, that's atleast a 2-3+ week process (I use to send a bunch to FBA myself), and during that time period of amazon processing, you are still buying inventory, so it's really hard to see where the room for profit with that system in the short term.
Then again, to apply to sell within the renewed program, that's atleast a $60,000+ process, so you'd assume he has some very stable cash flow at this point.
Here's my serious question about the video game selling business.
Since business' like yours are popping up more and scaling up to process more volume. Do you think there will be a slow down in supply of older games? Do you anticipate any change in demand for older video games in the future?
So just to clarify, the whole point of the app is to basically find & locate deals on video games as well as gaming related material. If caleb chooses to center his business around the app itself thats great! But the whole app however is not in fact centered around his own personal business

How is your work/life balance hosting your business at home? How do you think that balance will shift for you if you and Erika have kids? For me, I vend at about 15 conventions a year and it's a challenge being a dad, husband, and teacher while simultaneously running a small business and trying to make deals for collections and hit up yard sales, etc
You said "insurance"... You better have business insurance lol. A personal policy will limit your coverage for items used for a business, and its clear based on your social media what the items are used for.

It would have been CIB, but they admitted taking the games out (Sports and Sports Resort) to sell to you since it was a better flip for them that way and you won't take the consoles. Will you ever get back to doing yard sale videos? I know they’re kinda pointless with your buying model that you have now, but from an entertainment perspective, I found them very enjoyable.

It seems that because you have created these videos and taught everyone how to make money easily (or how it is perceived in the videos) you have basically made competition (whether you think this is a community of collaborating resellers or not) so when people start trying to get on Amazon because you can sell something for way above value on that platform, you don’t want competition. But you literally would have had none if you didn’t make any videos teaching people how to get a quick buck. Thus you would have been likely to not have any competition and make a decent amount of money, there wouldn’t be a boom of way too many resellers trying to get into this market, and the collectors can actually have a great time collecting video games, rather than having to spend a fortune on a couple of video games.

its true you cant please everyone, doesn't matter the price, condition or the way you ship orders. lots of people will be happy but then you will get the people who make false claims about the condition, quality of shipping or whatever. one reason I started to stream my whatnot shows live to youtube and then trying to pack up some of the orders (if any) on youtube after the whatnot stream. I do this not because it takes me longer to say pack an order, but so I can have a record of how I packed an order and the items in that order. it also gives people a better idea of how their order will ship. its also a CYA in the event of any dsputes even more so if I do it all live on camera. and IMOA if I stream my whatnot shows to TY it gives a wider reach for my show and the deals that can happen and hopefully get more followers or buyers on my streams.
I try to focus on the subjects and material I have a passion and love for. sure I would love to have multiple bins of items and a larger scope. its just easier to just focus on what you know then having your fingers in multiple cookie jars. with that being said If the price is right and I can flip it on say ebay, whatnot or facebook marketplace I will try it out. with that being said shipping from Canada to say the USA, EU etc istn cheap with Canada Post no matter the platform and I wish there was an easier way to be able to integrate a cross border shipping service so I could more accuratly charge people for shipping using the courier of their choice.
I cant wait to get my testing rig wired into my computer so I can do live testing of games by request in the even a buyer wants to see a title working and let people know my testing methods to help give people a better respects and understanding of what it takes to be a quality reseller like yourself.

Its mostly that fhe majority of people that watch just watch for your fun challenge videos and you looking for cool stuff and so on. Most people on average that watch probly aren't resellers, so because of that all of the reseller stuff isn't really appealing.
