  • Sometimes, with a larger piece of flat beadwork, you want to help it keep its shape when you are wearing it. In these cases, you will want to apply some sort of product to get the desired result.
    In this video, I will compare three different popular products used to help beadwork keep its shape. I will show Mod Podge, Diamond Dlaze and Protecta Clear products.

    Thank you for doing this video. I put off coating mine because I didn't know what to use. Thank you!

    I was so happy to find this video as I have the exact problem with my beaded earrings bending in the middle and looking terrible. I opted for the Protecta Clear because I saw other potential options for its use. Anyway, I CLEARLY used too much because it completely took the color off the beads in my earrings! I had to paint the color back on! It was awful! But they are stiff. I ordered another pair of those same earrings (thankfully they were only $27)and will use Mod Podge or diamond glaze this time. Thank you for the video and all the info.

    I learn so much from you. I was so frustrated with some earrings, especially the style in this video, where the top part would fold over when I wore them and here I am with gloss finish mod podge the whole time. 😂 I never even thought to use this. Thank you so much. I'm about to try it now.

    Can I use gloss varnish of a good brand? Because I don't have anything you showed there. I'm really new to beading, that's why asking you this question.

    Does the Mod Podge make Matte Delicas shiny?

    • @zoarfreeman4334
      @zoarfreeman4334 Před 11 měsíci

      that's what I'm wondering too

      If I’m using them on matte Delicas, I try to wipe of the surface so the mod podge is really just getting to the thread. Also, Mod Podge does have a matte version.

    Does using mod podge discolour the beads after a while?

    Where do you get your earrings clasps?

      I get them from a website called Perles and Co in France ( I’m in England ) but I have a link to some I have found on Amazon in my Amazon storefront. The link is in the profile on my page.

    Hi! Doesn't mod podge get yellow over time? I worry about it with light-colored, especially white beads :/

    • @snailsandfairydust
      @snailsandfairydust  Před 10 měsíci +1

      No, I’ve never had any problems with the mod pod yellowing.

    I tried mod modge gloss finish yesterday and it left a weird finish on the beads, there was also cloudy finish inbetween the beads, is that normal? Am I putting too much. How to not get it inbetween the beads

    • @snailsandfairydust
      @snailsandfairydust  Před 4 měsíci

      Sounds like you used too much. You mainly want it to be on the threads so you can work it into the threads and then wipe any excess off to the beads. Also, you only need to do it on one side.
