    1:12:53 same thing with collectibles i have been doing it for 25 years you as a reseller/dealer (anyone that sells collectibles (rare or semi rare) should not list every one you have meaning one listing with quantity available nor do you list the item 3 times and do #1 #2 #3 at the end of each title YOU list one at a time to make the PERCEPTION that the item is rare its the same thing the ACTUAL companies do with manufactured items as well you don't go and show that you have 10 or 20 or whatever you ONLY SHOW You have one and if you want it (the buyer) you better get it now before another buyer comes in and swoops it up.

    Tech!!! This hits home today!! I have an amazing eBay buyer who asked me to discount my item because his shipping charge is $93 to ship across country. Mind you, if it was more local to California, it would have been $41. Absolutely I discounted the item for him. I’m still making profit and he’s receiving an amazing item. Thank you, Tech 🙏🏻

    Love the photos of the cart you used at the flea market! We have a similar cart, and one of the wheels fell of while we were at the swap meet. Luckily, we saw a paperclip on the ground, and used it to fix it... Then the other wheel fell off, and we fixed it with another paperclip ... Still using it with the paper-clipped wheels LOL

    Its annoying how ebay charges fees on postage if its itemised separately. I understand why they do it however I think they're leaving money on the table by all those low margin listings that could be created that aren't because ebay fees make them unprofitable or even loss making for the seller.

    35:55 it really comes down to 2 things one you said how much you need that money right then and there and the other thing is Patience if you don't have patience to wait for that buyer that will come along and pay more then your most likely going to sell for less and leave possible money on the table this is why you have 1000's of those 5 to 25 bread and butter items to fill in while you sit and wait (and be patient) for that Grail item to sell to the highest buyer! its the name of the game!

    So could shipping cost on small items be like $100 some day? Like how does that work? I don't understand how it could just exponentially increase. At some point it wouldn't make sense. Unless the wages go up along with it over all. If not that's not sustainable for the population at large.

    shipping included in the final value fee is what hurts ! it negates much of the discounted rate sellers get. The only USPS flat rate i find useful is the Legal size envelope , when shipping to zone 8 . USPS wasted allot of taxpayers money on some of those boxes that will never be used ! Ive shipped every kind of size shape and weight and have not found one advantage or cost effectiveness yet with any of them.

    How does Mel backfromburnout have such positive feedback with only shipping in 1 bubble mailer for most of her books? When I ship books, I've always shipped with extra padding. Especially on heavier books and book lots. I ship 1 book with only 1 bubble mailer and I get a negative feedback. Never again will i do that. It just doesn't make sense to me.

    • @Mrs-Resell
      @Mrs-Resell Před měsícem +2

      she mentions in one of her videos that she folds the envelopes over and tapes them so that the books are not moving around in the envelope..and perhaps she may use extra padding on her larger books? I sell books too and have always just used 1 layer of bubble wrap and then into a satchel but have just moved over to buying the envelopes in bulk recently and I can't tell the difference between the level of protection..I find the padded envelopes just as protective. Unfortunately negative feedback can happen to anyone, no matter how well you present your book..I would try to get that removed if you can and if not just don't let it get to you and move forward with selling to your other customers.

    Complete and total newbie here and have only a few sales but listing 1 a day consistently. I have questions about the shipping as that is the most variable factor for me. I have started with calculated shipping and don’t want to lose my shorts or scare buyers away with too high of shipping costs.
    1. for larger clothing items (Carhartt jackets, Carhartt bib overalls) I’m storing and inventorying them in priority mail boxes and plan to ship in them as well. With calculated on I can’t choose box size and the recommended amount is nearly half what the actual cost would be. I have switched not to what actual cost is but is choosing a box size a feature when you have an eBay store or would you recommend just buyer pay flat rate of whatever the box size is?
    2. For utilizing the cubic rate for shipping smaller goods (shirts, shorts, pants) I use ground advantage but cannot select a cubic option. Again is this a feature when you have an eBay store or do I need to use another application (pirate ship) to get the cubic rates on ground advantage

    • @technsports
      @technsports  Před měsícem +1

      #1 - have you looked into ground advantage? It'll be cheaper
      #2 You don't need to use pirate ship for this, you probably need to re-do your business policies

    Tech, can you explain how the hell you get items listed in under a minute? Aside from your massive knowledge, what techniques work best for time reduction? I know a system is vital as far as a designated picture area and work station and being repetitive, but specifically from photos, item specifics, and to publishing the actual item, how in the world? I feel like it takes me over 5 minutes per clothing item and I’m already doing sell similar from my own archive of active/sold items.
