My mother loved both Elvis and Engelbert. Unfortunately she passed 2015 at 67yrs. Boy ,how i remember her playing those record albums like it was yesterday. We shall never hear such great artists like those two men in this generation. My mom lived in the best generation, bless her soul.

Two of the best singers and performers that resonate no matter your age (I'm 20), location, nationality, race or Creed.
Tina Turner was the actual King of Rock n Roll...being born male and all. Elvis was a female, gender-switched from childhood. Male to females and female to males make up the celebrity world.
I’ve stopped saying so and so is the best singer ever and things like that. Elvis was Elvis and no one can replace him. Englebert is Englebert and no one can replace him. Tom Jones is Tom Jones. On and on I could go. Andy Williams, Perry Como, whatever your taste. These guys are some of my favorites. Just appreciate them for who they are. They all seemed to appreciate each other and genuinely admired each other.

Never knew what a humble guy Engelbert seems to be. But, his great story about Elvis just shows how much other great entertainers admired Elvis Presley. Much respect to Engelbert and his great career but, Elvis was just the greatest.
There is an interview in which Englebert credits Elvis with teaching him humility as a performer. Speaks volumes for both artists.

Dear Engelbert, I love the story that you were in the military the same time and place as Elvis. I got a kick out of the part when Elvis stood up and opened the cape and that you recorded each other's songs. Elvis clearly saw talent in you. He went to see you. That speaks volumes. You were a star when you thought you were not because God created you for a special reason and that is what you have been doing all these years - bringing joy into our hearts with all your beautiful songs of love and encouragement - songs to sooth our aching hearts when we have loss people that were dear to us - songs to enhance the love of our lives songs that you created and others wrote for you - poems of love and joy - charities you have given to; I could go on and on about you young man - the wonderful husband and father to your precious family. Well I shall stop before I take up this entire page. You are totally amazing dear Engelbert. Thank you for sharing with us today. We love you always.

I went to see Elvis in concert. Someone at work was selling a ticket in the hall and said but it's only one ticket; I said I don't care it's a concert nobody will know I'm alone. And then after his first couple of songs when it was quite for a brief few moments I yelled out Elvis look up here; and he replied "honey" I'll be looking everywhere, we're here to make you happy and no problem were going to get it done. Something like that it's on You Tube

I loved Eng but he was not the total package ,but Elvis was. Elvis had supernatural looks, voice, charisma, facial expressions dance moves, mannerisms, photographic memory, actor..unparalled stage presence.Eng was wonderful but he was not the ultimate entertainer.Elvis sold oodles more records, 1.5 billion saw him via satellite.That has never been beaten.Elvis is still the king.

Absolutely nothing.Besides, if you do as much research as I have done, you will learn that his cause of death was due to natural causes.His autopsy report says so.He had a medical condition for years called colonmegaly.This condition he had was a colon six feet longer than normal with dead nerves cells from a viral infection.This caused major bowel issues.While straining to pass a cement block 3 months old, he had a fatal arrythmia.The excessive straining put undue pressure on the vagus nerve responsible for cardiac function.The heart rate slowed dramatically causing his death. It is easy to assume things but if you know anything about many diseases and polypharmacy as I do, you would come to a logical conclusion about his cause of death.The easiest conclusion is to blame drugs because like millions of men, you show that horrible quality called jealousy.Englebert can't measure up nor can you.Become informed and never show jealousy.Jealousy is never becoming.

Ironically your words apply to Engelbert. Iconic star,a sweet down to earth, generous man. A voice like no other and never will be. He has always said that his voice was a gift from God and it's just a loan. Maybe if Elvis had respected his voice more he wouldn't have died so young and so horribly!
Really?? Are you kidding? First of all, Engelbert’s voice was and is superior to Elvis. Elvis was a showman and not known for having a great voice. It was average. His rock and roll moves are what attracted people to him. It was the bad boy act. I liked Elvis, but he doesn’t come close to Enge in generosity or vocal talent. Enge is the most giving and generous of all people. He has a big heart. Elvis didn’t care enough to stick around. That’s not being generous. If you want to idolize Elvis, go to his site.

Enge, I love your stories. You tell them so well and have led such an incredible life. I am saddened though by the fact that you keep saying you are a nobody. I wish you could see yourself the way we all see you!! You are amazing in every way!! Your generosity toward other celebrities is incredible even when some of them don’t deserve it. But that’s just the kind of person you are. Very giving, loving, thoughtful and never have a bad word to say.
The behavior Elvis displayed was disrespectful to you. A simple thank you and wave of the hand would have sufficed. You would never do that to Elvis. You have too much class!! The audience going berserk for 10 minutes was also disrespectful but I’m going to attribute it to the fact that they didn’t know any better. Enge, you are extraordinary. Mere words are not enough to describe the human being that you are. You are so special to all of us and will remain that way forever!! ❤️
My favorite singers whom I started listening to back In India since my college days, Elvis Presley & Englebert H, timeless,everlasting music they produced in rich sonorous tones.
