I sort of dislike that he keeps saying that it's just a kickflip, but fakie, whereas (like you can see in the video), the popping foot kicks in the direction you are traveling. Figuring this out is what allowed me to really start to understand fakie and nollie tricks, and I think it's really important, but it doesn't get mentioned once.
I think most fakie tricks are easier to keep under your feet. Here's an example on tre flip. I learned fakie bigflip first, then fakie tre and then after long time regular tre.
I find them a lot easier. When you're learning kickflips it always feels like you're going to kick the board away. But by the time you do fakie flips your kickflips should be decent and all the momentum is in the opposite direction so you can confidently flick hard and know the board will stay under you.
I really love fakie flips, they are so much fun to do! Do you have any tips on learning how to switch kickflip? I can do switch ollie and switch heelflip pretty well but i kind of struggle with switch kickflips. Anyway, keep up your awesome tutorials!
I'm surprised how popular fakie tricks have become. Back in the early 2000s when I started skating most people would consider it a silly trick to do a fakie flip because they're easy. But I always thought that was odd since I skate goofy and it's literally the same thing as when a regular skater does a nollie flip.
that’s not really true, a nollie flip is the complete opposite and you do everything differently when doing a nollie flip compared to fakie since it’s in a different stance. it’s like relearning how to kickflip basically
should be mentioned that the direction you pop is different, instead of straight down its more at a 45 degree angle so the board travels with you instead of hanging back (or forward since youre rollingg fakie)
big thing that he doesn’t really mention here is the key to a good fakie flip is the pop. when you’re going fakie you want a nice quick pop and keep your shoulders squared up and the board will stay perfectly under you
I need some advice on my Kickflips I have been skateboarding for about 4 Years and I still can’t get that trick I’ve gotten all the basics down and I like 2 years ago I was able to Varial kickflip and Treflip which is kinda of odd cause those are more advance tricks, but my only problem with my Kickflip is just staying above it I’ve got the flick down it’s just when I’m about to go for it only my front foot gets on not my back foot
Try to only put your back foot on, switch it up. I remember when I was learning I went through the front foot only phase, then the back foot only phase, then I started landing on the board upside down with both feet, and from there it didn't take long before I got it.

Yep, gotta do that to counteract the drag you get from popping while travelling fakie.
Could also just be how he kick flips
For whatever reason fakie flips were alway a bit easier for me. Learned kickflips stationery and then realized that I just level them better fakie.

@@somehonestwords8274 first trick I could do whenever I wanted was a fakie pop-shuv
@@jvvlbeats my friends struggle with those In a game of skate as simple as they are. It's one of favorite easy tricks.

@@somehonestwords8274 Same, fakie tre is butter...regular look like I just need to find another hobby.
This is the hardest trick for me to be balanced with before executing.

I skate goofy too I'm about to try fakie flips since my shuv is easier fakie

Great looking fakie flips 👊

i find these very difficult compared to nollie flips, they always wanna turn halfcab way, thanks for the video
Literally I can do them regular nollie and switch but struggle so much with Fakie.
Biggest thing for me for fakie flips. All in the shoulders
Can you make a video on skating fakie and nollie off drops?

Where i should put my pressure when i do a kick/heel flip guys???
Somehow it's not just rolling backwards, fakie flips are super weird. Always glad when I land one bolts, but it's never first try for me.
Switch heel/flip manual tutorial?
PLEASE GIVE ME A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO WALLIE
Nice beard man.
Nice fakie kickflips too.
my fakie flips always want to turn varial
make sure to snap directly back and keep your shoulders straight. Good luck!
hey do you still have a patreon?
I think when I fakie flip i look the same direction as you do but when I fakie heel I look the other ditection as if it is a switch nollie heel
There's no such thing as a switch nollie, that's called fakie
Video Idea: How to skate fast
i can get the flick it's just the landing for someone who doesn't have kickflips i'm getting closer with fakie then regular kickflips
Fake kick flips are done by kickfliping against the direction your going it’s almost like you have to stop the momentum before you do the fake flip
I land primo most of the time
