    Hogwarts felt so magical, unpredictable and huge in the first two PC games. I remember trying a spell on everything I came across looking for secrets. The lighting set the mood in every single room. As the games progressed, they became darker en more dull in my opinion, having lost the magic of the first games. The same happened with the movies imo.

    • @artemis1993
      @artemis1993 Před 2 lety +6

      They intentionally became dull, because the plot became more and more serious, but i agree with you that the later games/movies becomes a bit *too* bleak for my tastes. Deathly Hallows is the most guilty about this...

    Honestly i liked PS1. I used to play from day one on PS1 and loved it. It felt to me like eating the tasty food i never had in my life. I never had good PC till like 2006, back then games like TES IV: Oblivion ran very poorly which i had to replace graphic card for better.
    It ran smooth, at least inside of prison. Outside had choppy because of loading the areas.
    Nowadays i like both.
    Seriously they never got the praise for having different team working on both and they did terrific job. Wish the studio was still alive if EA wasn't going south with greediness.

They were so simple, cozy, fun, unpredictable and educational to my young mind that nothing will ever come close to these joyful days. Once you grow old the enthusiasm is never the same, and with all these technological advancements modern videogames are resembling more the real world than just games, so in a way they lose that unique charm and simplicity we used to have. Graphically the PC version is better and we all agree on that. But in terms of gameplay and content, I would say that the PSX one wins by a wide difference. On PSX you have additional adventures such as looking for secrets behind paintings, going to the Gringotts bank, more enemies and more places to explore things that the PC does not have. On PC we have to lengthen the spell challenges where we must collect 10 stars and some other adventure like avoiding Filch and Mrs. Norris or going to the fire cave to look for seeds, challenges that as I said, were extended on PC to justify the game duration. However, there is something that the PSX does very well and the PC does badly. An open world where we can go anywhere we want. That is not possible on PC. Once we go through a door, we can't go back. So I'll take PSX in first place and PC in second place.

      Hideous graphics and lack of music. The PC version actually feels magical because it has both of those

    I legit didn’t know the game looked so bad on PS1 in comparison, people praise its mechanic but without the magic and the graphics, it just doesn’t have the same magic. Glad I played the PC version back then, such a great experience.
