This totally works!!! I was wrestling with my lock looking at all the videos that show how to crack the old style locks. For the newer ones that are described in this video, you must use this method.
Great video, just did this on a nice beefy lock that came on a used bike I bought. Took about 15 minutes and used my workbench vice to hold the right side of the lock.
Thank you sooooooooooo much for making this video! I bought a bike from Value Village back in 2014 and it had a chain combination lock locked on the frame (it wasn't in the way or anything but it was purple and rattled which was annoying). I found your previous video and got the lock open and memorized the combination. Then winter came (Canadian winter lol) so the bike sat in my apartment, unused for over 6 months....and I forgot the combo 😂 Thanks to *this* video, I got the sucker open again and I'm sooo glad
if pushing for pressure doesn;t help you find push points, try pulling for pressure. 2/3 (3rd had 2) of the 4 I found. Then I only had to check 20 permutations and boom. Good video. Thanks! No, I'm not a thief. I left the country for a year and forgot the code for the bike lock I have for my spare bike. Thanks man!
I bought a lock 10 minutes ago and managed to lock myself out... I didn’t align the numbers where I thought I did. Thank you for saving me another $35!
Just accidentally found this video. Great job decoding the bike lock with false gates. I'm a lockpicker (locksport hobbyist) and love combination locks. You did a great job explaining the combinatoric method. Have you tried figuring out if the gate is the right one by moving the wheel left and right while pulling on the cable? The false gates normally show less play. Anyhow, great work :-)
I actually think I love you. I've been feeling so low as I have had brain cancer now for just over 3 years and I forget lots of things daily. I spend my life looking for things I have lost these days but when I got the first 2 numbers I remembered what the combo was!
I found this bike cable lock and I was shocked that within 3-4 minutes I was able to open it with your video. Thanks. I guess that I am still shocked that it worked that quickly.
True words about the bolt croppers, in many towns they are increasingly hard to purchase, tool shops rare so as to effect diversity and increase price & in the UK 2 big tool suppliers pretty much insist on having your details for each purchase, makes things damned slow, often annoying and always intrusive if you just want to pop in for a 10m roll of p80 sandpaper a tube of bathroom sealant & a cheap flat screwdriver!, as always a great & enjoyable video ty.
You might also try to feel the friction of next wheel, when you turn the first one(while putting pressure an the lock/pulling apart) . So when the next one is turning harder, you (might) have the right number on the first one.
All locks only keep honest people out, and I love the content. But I operate a community bike shop in a small city with a lot of homelessness and addiction problems. I can say without a doubt, that thieves will also spend the time to tinker with it and figure it out.
At the end I agree with you when you say a bike thief can just cut the wire, so your not helping bike thief’s. But.. you did give them the idea of cutting the wire :D
Thanks. your guidance somehow worked for me and saved my time of trying all possible combinations. Although I am yet to get the knack of finding the correct pressure required.
Tried the other video and no luck after 10 minutes. Then I was ready for this, paper out and written the numbers. Went to try the first one and the whole thing came undone. This video is brilliant lol
Compre dos candados nuevos ,pero no tenían la combinación que indica en el paquete. Vi varios videos relacionados a esto para tratar de encontrar la combinación. Con este método fue que pude abrirlos ....Muchas gracias.
Thank you so much! I took my old bike out of storage & forgot the combination of the lock (which was wrapped around the rear wheel). This method worked! :D
Thanks I got it the first try. I pull hard with my foot n stop on the one that stuck on n move on to the next number n I keep pull on it as I turn it n I got it n now open.
Many thanks from the UK. It's basically being a bit more methodical, patient and sensitive than the technique for a basic combo-lock. I bought two new but different quality locks in a sale, set them up and hung them on my (visitor) bikes. By the time I came to use them for real, so much time had elapsed (years) I'd forgotten the codes and had dumped the packaging (or filed it in a secure place). I'd tried the basic method before with no success, so I tried this and only had to find 2 catches to work-out (remember) the rest - so your tip saved a lot of time and took me less than 5 mins - in fact it's taken me longer to type this on an iPad with one finger! I'd set both locks to the same code - which is fortunate as the second lock was a lot trickier to find any catches.
I found a bike lock in a storage garage I owned and I was trying to find the code. So I did what you said and apparently my immature 14 year old self made the code "poop". So thanks I guess..
Do you have advice for opening a lock that's jammed half open? It comes out up to 10mm and will push back in but not all the way. I know the combination!
Seems all the numbers catch when I pull on the end. I can start pulling little by little until a wheel locks up, and all the numbers have the same lock up happening on that wheel. More lubrication and practice needed?
Hey! Thank you so much! Watched your vid and another chap's. I got it! I FEEL POWERFUL NOW. jejej! No, but really my cousin had left a lock in the garage without the code. So, whoo!
I have two U-locks from ONGUARD (similar to model 5511) sitting in our room for several years. I would like to open the locks and start using them on my bike trip to the city. However, no one remember the 4-digit passcodes for both of them. Is there an easier way to open the locks, instead of trying 9,999 numbers TWICE. I did try all the possible special dates in the family. None of that works, and we tried to the factory default 0005 too. Can you help? Thanks... P.S. the lock is quite stiff for me to feel the catches you mentioned.
On some locks, yes, and some locks no. This lock I believe yes. But the method varies. There is usually something to push in and hold, while you turn the wheels to the new combo.
I drop my chain to the ground while cycling... then I locked it and the code never worked again, I don´t want to break the chain so I will give it a try, though it´s 5 digits. Thanks!
Or just use a quality hacksaw and cut the cable. Will be through it in a minute or less. Some bikes I get from the recycling centre have locks with no keys, hacksaw has never failed me.

I tried like 10 hours already and nothing
how to do that if lock is on the frame
@@armandolauder6598 I tried and it didn't work
I tried and it didn't work so what do I do know
@@johnathanlloyd6369 Keep trying, or give up and cut it.

I’ve never used this technique - I’ve used two others. Will try this next time I get a new lock!
Thank you!
RJ---you are the Houdini of cable combo locks! Thanks for the lessons.

Sure ya did
I was gonna use the video to steal this bike from school but hell he just reminded me I have bolt cutter in the trunk. Thanks youtube
I forgot the combination after not touching my bike for months. This worked perfectly thank you!
RJ thanks. I forgot my combo, until watching you videos. Saved me from buying a new one!

Buddy you're making my Life in the Corona Times better... Thanks!
You're my hero!!! I was gonna ditch an expensive TopLock and your trick worked!! Yayyyyyy!!!
Did Donald Trump lose his job and started youtube?
The voice 🤣
HAHAH he really sounds like him.
fr xDDDD
😂
100% sound like Trump
Most those MasterLocks aren't shielded, so you could use a feeler to reach between and feel the gates.
where can i see this method? this is closer to what i was looking for but his worked.
Nice pick, I would be like 9-0-2 -7 then 9-0--2 ... bolt cutter
That 70's Schwinn Vintage Bike Channel lol same
Lol......bolt cutters in 2 seconds
Can we try 0 through 9 on the fourth wheel if the first 3 dials are correct?
This flippen works! I didn't even need to write anything down. Just felt the catches. Thanks

I have a OnGuard Cable lock and have had it for years and not able to unlock it Until I saw your video. Great open in 20 minutes

I asked a friend to change my lock password, now I've got blisters on my fingertips and had to ask for the password hahahah
🤣🤣🤣
At the end I agree with you when you say a bike thief can just cut the wire, so your not helping bike thief’s. But.. you did give them the idea of cutting the wire :D
Wow thank you very much man!! I forgot the password of my locker and I did like you say and it worked! I can finally use it again.
Thanks. your guidance somehow worked for me and saved my time of trying all possible combinations. Although I am yet to get the knack of finding the correct pressure required.
Thank you so much. TBH i didnt expect this to work lol. I went through 5 videos. Thank u so much.
Thank you! I was finally able to open my Masterlock bike lock.

This video is brilliant lol
Glad you got it!
Got a cable lock I need for to unlock thanks for the tips
Thank you for the video and info bought a bike that had a master lock on it was almost ready to cut it off until I see your video!
Unfortunately, locks like this only keep the "honest" people out. Still, this is helpful info--thanks!
They are a deterrent.
David Naumes if people are "honest" they won't steal your bike lol
In my city this lock would not be any deterrent. It is completely useless.
Where do you live?
Vancouver, BC. A cop told me a bike is stolen every 7 minutes in this city. Every year the police auction off thousands of recovered bikes.
Dude thanks alot I got it in the same time it took u too make this video. Works definitely.
we watched you and didn't need to do all that but maybe we got lucky. thanks so much for the info!!!
Thank you - I opened mine less than 2 mins into your video!
Thank you! I'm in the same boat. I bought a bike with a similar lock and I would like to save it and not cut it. Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Thanx so much this work perfectly thanx for sharing your knowledge.

well I have a bunch of blisters now and no open lock. I suck
Some locks are harder than others and may take more time.
thank you..great work,,
you are like a jack of all trades
It works thanks sir!!!
Wow worked like a charm
Nice.
I think this is how Houdini got started.
good and workable video
God bless you bro.
Time to steal that Demo 8 in our garage
is there a way you can then put your own combo numbers on the lock?
On some locks, yes, and some locks no. This lock I believe yes. But the method varies. There is usually something to push in and hold, while you turn the wheels to the new combo.
Thanks RJ!
There is a thing to turn inside, turn it and hold then make your own combination the releas the hold then you have it.
Is the combination over 9000?
Thank you, thank you, thank you
i remember mine lock combination but as i tried to release it lock is stucked on half way, can you suggest me how can i fix it
Thanks bro it helped me a lot
what does the catch feel like? I have a lock by Master that I can't remember the combination(4 rows)
Hard to describe. It sort of sticks in that number more than the others.
I drop my chain to the ground while cycling... then I locked it and the code never worked again, I don´t want to break the chain so I will give it a try, though it´s 5 digits. Thanks!
Thank you...it worked😁
Hey can you unlock a B-Hook buggyguard lock without combo?

The thieves did something different here they cut a notch in the bike rack and put tape over it.
Denver Morgan

Thank you I just open my old lock within 5min
Very well man. It's not ve very dificult to know, really?
wow!thanks dood

Thanks
26k Tiefs are here
Stiblik1337 im one of em lol
that and a boy that found a locked bike lock on a dead tree without a bike anywhere around and broke the tree for the free lock bc he needed one.
Anyone who locks their bike with a lock like this, doesn’t deserve a bike!
and one fucktard that doesn't know English very well
Done, thanks, 1 min !!!
Or just use a quality hacksaw and cut the cable. Will be through it in a minute or less. Some bikes I get from the recycling centre have locks with no keys, hacksaw has never failed me.
LifeOfAnEnglishman unless D lock the grinder
A good cable cutter would take 2 seconds or less.
RJ The Bike Guy how about we leave this to theatrical aye 😂
?
RJ The Bike Guy theoretical* and theoretical only
Thanks..
I go for the cut the cable at once👍🤣
