- A walk-through video in setting up and configuring the Pioneer DJ XDJ-700 players for use stand-alone, with rekordbox over the Pro DJ Link, or with rekordbox DJ as HID controllers.
I connected my two xdj700 to usb hub and I can't see them in input channels. I can only select Pioneer CDJ/XDJ Asio in audio option. I can't also select deck number there is just a screen with symbol of deck connected to PC. Any advices? I installed last driver for XDJ700 nd I did not connect my Xone 42 mixer, just decks to try. I have Windows 11.

Okay I try to make this quick and painless! The 3rd option (use the XDJ-700 as a controller of RB on your computer) - is great for the type of parties where you get all sorts of weird requests and searching via the XDJ touch screen is really painful - it's nice to be able to search and browse on a big computer screen, and then push tracks from your computer to your XDJ - and it works really well like shown in this video. Unfortunately, as seen in the last minutes of this video, you don't get the 'big waveform' on the XDJ - you just get the 'Rekordbox' logo! Arggghhh.. Well, this isn't bad for the normal people who have their computer in a nice place to use it how normal people would, and just view the 'big waveforms' there for good control... but I have a super compact turntable coffin tho and with the XDJs there I can't have the computer in a nice place - and it's tough (for me at least) to do a good job mixing/performing without the big waveforms. Yeah I know, do a better job with playlisting or just tell those requesters to go away, or grin-and-bear searching with the little touchscreen on XDJ-700, or switch to an integrated controller/mixer with computer (and somehow fit on my rig), or ditch the coffin rig or the vinyl, or ditch the digital or just stop being obsessed... but... why!? The XDJ otherwise work well as controllers and I don't want to buy more stuff! The screen is just sitting there looking back at me with an insulting smirkish 'Rekordbox' logo instead of a big waveform! Surely there must be a way (but actually probably not). IS THERE NO WAY TO GET THE BIG WAVEFORMS ON THE XDJ-700 IN 'CONTROLLER MODE'??? Pls send help.

when I go to select deck you are doing the option doesn't appear and I am unable to control the software with the xdj 700
Good to know you need to unplug the Ethernet. I had some kids trying to plug in their laptop to our djm900nxs2 and CDJ 2000 v1's at work and they couldn't get it to connect
Hi everyone. I have just made up a custom DJ deck with 2 x xdj-700s and a Reloop RMX 60 mixer.
For some reason the players won't sync properly to my Rekorbox 6 on my laptop. I have the 2 players connected by USB straight into my laptop. No ethernet is plugged in. It has windows 10 and is an Asus laptop. I have installed the CDJ/XDJ ASIO driver.
If I switch to performance mode in Rekordbox and then on either player press LINK to sync them to the laptop it says USB- Midi on the player screen and I press to enter that. It now shows up and says pc on the bottom of the player however it is still not synced to Rekordbox on the laptop and nothing else comes up on the player screen. Won't select any tracks or designate a player number option when I turn the dial.
The laptop seems to be identifying the players however just won't connect to them correctly. I have selected the ASIO driver in Rekordbox and the output players as 1 and 2 in preferences. Have watched every tutorial and info i could find but as yet no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi there ! Thanks a lot for showing the « Link » feature, I was looking for a way to use my computer & rekordbox as an external hardrive. It works perfectly on Rekordbox 4, but I recently downloaded Rekordbox 6 and the link feature seems to work only with ableton. Do you know how I can get the same result on Rekordbox 6 ? Cheers man
Hmm, old video, but I seem to be unable to get it working: 2x XDJ-700’s connected to a standalone non-internet connected switch. Belkin ethernet adapter has an APIPA address. Only the first XDJ-700 player can play all tracks, when I want to play a track on the second one, there’s an error “e-8302 cannot play track (c658)”.
Hi have an pair of 700's connected to a DJM450. I'm also running the latest version of Rekordbox on Windows 10. I wish to use my turntables in DVS mode and still be able to use my 700's. I'm aware thevDJM450 is a two channel mixer. And I only wish to use either a turntable or the 700 on a single channel at any one time. So how would I configure this setup?

I have a question.. i followed everything you mention and i was able to link my computer to the cdj's and the audio plays when i hit the play button... however.. i can't get the audio to go throught the mixer and allow me to control de audio throught the mixer... it's like what it's doing is only allowing me to hit play on the cdj but not allowing me to mix (my mixer is a djm-450), also the audio has low volume and low quality... do you have any idea how i can solve this? hello - ive only got the one xdj700 - linked to a mixer and i still use my 1210s. so i have a windows 10pro laptop to just run my mp3 library but it will not connect to the XDJunit - i am running rekordbox and all have been updated - i just get the error loading message when i select the asio
If I buy a pair of these do I also need to buy a license for Rekordbox, or is one included?

If i prepare all my music in an external hard disc 1ΤΒ (USB3) with rekordbox, can i connect my hard disc directly to a pioneers hardware (controller,XDJ/CDJ) and have all rekordbox settings,playlists,loops,ques & hot ques ready to roll?

What, the S9? You could map it yourself, but there is no native support for it as the DJM-S9 is a Serato DJ product, not a rekordbox product.
no I was speaking about the XDJ-700 when you plug it and use it in performance mode with rekordbox dj. Does it unlock the 8 hots cues and beatjump features. Because with no pc with a XDJ-700 you can just have 4 hot cues and no beatjump feature I think.
+PioneerDJ need to wear their pants and release a new firmware for XDJ-700 and XDJ-1000 Mk1 that unlock 8 hot cues on the GUI... they can do it we all know that... but just for this feature because adding many others features will make crash the XDJs because they are not enought powerfull like the 1000 Mk2.
@pulse thanks a lot for the info, however I have a doubt - when in USB mode how do we remove the autoplay of next track in xdj. Also sometimes the first track of the usb folder automatically plays when we browse through tracks. Is it a player issue or that it has to by synced to Rekordbox
Hi i have 2 xdj700 and I connect them by ethernet cable to a switch. This switch is connected to an amazon basics hub (3 USB ports + 1 lan port) type c.. my Mac shows only one of the xdj on rekordbox.. can you help me please?

hello, i need some help... the xdjs dont give me the option to choose the deck #, do you know why? im in performance mode... they are getting tdetected but i cant load the deck

Im having trouble getting onto the forum and getting a rely from support, but..............
I have been using a SX2 for the last couple of years, but i just got a XDJ 700 and DJM 450.
My plan was to use the XDJ and SX2 through the DJM 450.
A bonus is that the SX2 works with Rekordbox, but i am having trouble getting audio output from both the XDJ 700 and SX2 at the same time, is there a way to select them both in Recordbox (performance), as so far i can only see that i can select either the XDJ or SX2 as the output device.
Obviously i am just wanting to use 1x deck from the SX2 and not the SX2 mixer, so it acts like a second XDJ 700 in theory, untill i can get a second XDJ and lose the SX2.
How this can be achieved.

I have the DDJ-RZX and I am considering to buy one of XDJ players to add in my setup. Since RZX has a standalone mixer is possible to just plug it to the controller and use it as most basic setup. But I would like to know if I setup the XDJ's pluged via USB to the computer as Deck 3 and Deck 4 in Rekordbox I supose that I can see the Waveforms in the XDJ's but also in RZX center screen correct ?
Second question, is features such as Tag List still working in XDJ's as work when we are using Pen Drivers connected to them ? I mean if I add a track in Tag List I can see it in Rekordbox but also in XDJ's ?

Hey Sérgio, you would see the waveforms on the RZX but on on the XDJ displays, but you could use all of them together in combination to control rekordbox dj.
When in stand-alone mode, if you tag a track with one player, linked players can also view the tag list to load tracks from it, yes.

The XDJ-700's themselves don't have an input on the audio interface, so no. You'd have to use rekordbox in internal mixer mode to be able to record with the XDJ's.
Hi few questions . Will MP3s work on these players from usb keys as they are or does the music have to be converted through recordbox before the players will read it ? Also can you only use a pioneer mixer to use recordbox ?
Finally using record box off a laptop do you need an adaptor to take the lead from each player into the usb port in the laptop ? Help would be great thanks
1) You can use non-analysed MP3s but the real power of the players comes when you use rekordbox to export to your device so you can sort and search through your tracks.
2) You can use any mixer, but only Pioneer DJ devices will support DVS input (not relevant in this scenario above).
3) Yes, or use a USB hub if you have more cables than ports on your laptop.

only asking because i wonder if i could use only 2 usb cables and then an extra one for a ddj-sp1 to control four decks...also by the way is it possible to switch the decks you are controlling on the fly so you could control 4 decks with 2 xdj players?
You could do either; even if you use the DJM as your audio interface, you can still use the Color FX. Currently the only way to use the SP1 with CDJs/XDJs is with an advance (beta) version of 4.2.4, and will be integrated into a full release in the future.
I need some help this is driving me crazy! I want to record my mixes, but I don't even have the ''Link'' Button to connect, from there it already ends for me. and i'm doing exactly what you're doing and telling me to do...
If your LINK button isn't showing, chances are you have a firewall enabled, preventing the communication and thus the link. Try following the firewall portions of this troubleshooter to resolve that issue: forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/articles/205021519

If the link button doesn't appear, you haven't got your network / firewall configured properly. Either disable it or try the troubleshooting steps in this article: forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/articles/205021519

That's the DJM-S9; a mixer designed specifically for use with Serato DJ. You can use it with other applications, but you'd get the most out of it with Serato DJ.

Hi, I see the big waveforms when using the "recordbox" button, but at the end of the video you use the "link" option on the XDJ-700. Do you have the Big Waveforms during this "link" option?
+Roy v Meel > No; the large waveforms are because you are sending the song data over the ProDJ (ethernet) link to the players and they are doing all the work. When in HID mode, the player is acting as a controller of the software and thus you only see the overview waveform and will not have a large scrolling waveform.
Do you think this will be possible in the future? And is this the same story for a xdj-1000? The waveform is the only missing feature I think should be there when using as controller :(

+Roy v Meel > Not as far as I know. The feeling is that because you'll still have your computer for the application that you will have your display for the waveforms so to ensure the performance of the players they are not sending that data. Yes, it would be the same for the XDJ-1000.
+Pulse Pioneer DJ Ok, Thanks for your reply. I do karaoke, video mixing, music etc etc. Recordbox is not a option for me. I use 4Tb disks full with the video and karaoke etc.. This is not funny to maintain with RB. So wherever I go, even if there are 2000NXS players, I still have to use it as a controller and really want the large waveforms to work on all players like the CDJ's and XDJ's. I don't want a laptop in sight...
So if Pioneer has a idea box.. Drop this idea there for me :)

Nope, sorry - they don't have the capacity to send different control signals for each deck. There is a method that you could disconnect it from rekordbox to then reassign it, but I wouldn't recommend it as being a functional option during a set.
You can ua an xp2 and switch decks 1-2 and 3-4
Well worth the money (£250) as opens up all the functions of performance on RB and has the super useful 16 pads each side each with 8 layers

why not just buy a controller instead of using these 1400 dollar players as a controller? this makes no sense to me. plus youve got to buy a mixer too.

Different strokes for different folks. I know DJs who have over $8000 worth of gear in their basement, and they never play out, simply because they love their hobby. What's wrong with having two XDJs and a mixer if that's what you want to use?
you can use them as a controller at home, so you don't need to export everything each time you want to play, and when you go to a gig - you export it and have everything prepared for a gig
you can even grab your 700s to a gig and leave your laptop at home so you don't damage it

Yes, you need a USB hub or multiple USB ports on your computer - one for each player.
