I cannot believe the prices at your thrift shops in the Netherlands!! Most of that stuff would be ten times the cost here in the U.S. I am not a jealous person by nature but I am feeling a bit envious of your treasures and the prices.!~
I was thinking the same thing! Not only do our shops rarely have this good stuff in them, those small falling apart books would be $12+ each. I did find an older ledger book the other day. A couple pages had writing on them, nothing special. $65.
@@Elizabeth-butter $65?? That's pretty crazy. I can't even find one... lol If I actually did I might be tempted to pay that just because I couldnt be certain I'd ever come across another one!
@cyndieevans5628 Right?! Trust me I was tempted. It is the only one I've ever come across. If it had been filled with writing I would have. But with just a few pages with a couple lines written, I couldn't do it. But then to pay that much just to tear it apart, I don't think I could do it!😆
The enthusiasm you have about these treasures is so contagious! Makes me want to head out and go treasure hunting myself! Thanks for sharing this phenomenal haul with us, Margareth!
Wow! I haven't seen that airmail paper for at least 40 years. I used to write on that. If you can find an old typewriter it would make a beautiful letter. I have an old typewriter that I want to use for my numbers etc. I don't like using words too much and that is why the typewriter hasn't come downstairs yet. Lol. I just remembered I can use it for the words such as field trip, specimen etc. I also have real ledger paper from 1939. And a dinner party record from 1908 to Oct 1932. I just love these papers.
What awesome finds and price, we have few places here in the area of Kokomo and grant county Indiana that have some great prices. I’m sure here it has a lot to do with the areas. Big cities ask more than smaller towns. I love the colors of your file folders. You could always cut out the rabbits and stitch it back together. Your drawer thing is the inside of a drawer so it looks like. We have drawers with inserts. But what a super find and so great for crafting items. Why why is it I can’t find books with blank pages. I love to find something like that. And the stamp books I was going to buy one and decided not to because it was new and $20. I’d rather find a used one for sure. The flaps at the top of your Ledger book are to hold your pages. Why make a college you can’t use or scan? I would do drawing or doodling or tear it apart the use the pages in your journals? I store my stencils in clear pages like that but I put black cardstock in the sleeve and then I can put two stencils in one pocket and they are easy to see. Loving all your books. And to find Edith Holden book so cheap is amazing. Bookstores in London when I was there was $10 and when I buy them from the states. Online I find them for $15 plus shipping sometimes I don’t have to pay shipping. You lucky lady. Have fun with all you findings.
The lacey stuff is called broderie anglaise and was used for underwear and bedding. And, yes, we say "sargent" in England. I'm not a thrifter but your treasures are always so enviable!
How fun! Love hearing how cheap you got things for. That haul would likely be $500 in California. So that’s why I don’t go thrifting much. Enjoy! Hugs 🤗❤️ btw love the idea of a collage book with that gorgeous orange book!
I found one for one dollar thrifting but also got the edwardian lady, the story of edith holden. Its a book about her life and it has great pictures. So for two dollars I got them both. Hard back, original edition from 1976. was so happy.
I love your videos. I’m so excited for you because you have some amazing finds!! I would be so happy if I could find even one of those books. I do have the Edith Holden book and it is amazing that you not only found one but at such a great price.
Love watching your hauls. I found an Edith Holden book recently in New Zealand for $11 which is about 4 euros. I just about peer myself as I was sooo excited lol
love shopping with you lol! Virtually impossible to find anything like this in Australia so I enjoy your treasure hunts. Yes to the orange collage book, I am using an old readers digest recipe book at the moment as it has good sized landscape pages. Hoping you make some digitals with the old papers. Any chance you could add some snippets of video of your shopping trips, I'd love to see a bit of your European towns.
Love thrifting, dumpster diving, and buying a row of boxes at an auction that no one else will bid on for a dollar or two. Such treasures can be found.
Enjoy your finds, Margreth!💜 You've got me using the term "woolies!" Love the eyelet trim and the striped fabric; I think that's best when you cut it horizontally ( instead of vertically along the strips) and get bits of multiple patterns in each piece!😆
You find the most amazing things! I so so want a set of those fairytale playing cards and I've been looking for years for the Edwardian book with no luck yet . Also recently I've been on the hunt for a stamp book but I think Tucson AZ just isn't the place. I''m so glad you mentioned that you have a ton of stamps because I was sorting mine with you in mind . For some reason I thought you needed some. ~Patti
Oh my goodness!! Great finds. I love how your husband supports you also. Mine will go with me but he’s done in 5 minutes. That dark grunge fabric is my favorite. So glad you got to go out and do something that you enjoy so much. I’m loving your Sunday videos!!❤
I Love seeing your treasure hunts. I Love all the stuff you picked up. One of my favorites is that drawl insert you found that is a treasure in its self.

And, what an absolute anomaly to find an English version of Edith Holden in the Netherlands...the world just got a little bit smaller didn't it? Thanks so much for sharing and so glad you got out and enjoyed yourself. Until next time. Take care
I found my first Edith Holden book long before I started to do junk journaling. I paid $2 for it at a garage sale. I always look at books, but I didn't know anything about this one. I just bought it because it is so beautiful. Then I found out later how coveted it is among junk journalers. I have picked up a couple more for a very good price at sales and purchased a couple online, paying more but not outrageous prices. I hoard them. Lol. I've cut into two of them and given one to my sister. It is so exciting to find one at a price.
You don't have to cut into your tile book. You can scan the pictures then cut them out if you don't want to ruin the book. I love your ideas. Thank you. I was thinking your plastic gauge would look fantastic over a map. The ideas are flowing now.
Those little tiles are so cute. I used to tole paint and had a German lady, Hannah who wanted me to paint in that style, so I learnt it. So pretty. I can't remember the name though. Started with H. Hinderloopen? Lol. I'm sure that's wrong.
Margreth, do you have a laminator? With the very old, fragile papers you could laminate them and turn them into writing boards for the back of journals.

the flaps on the ledger covers are so you can write the column titles once and use it on all pages. just flip them up and turn to the desired page.
