Can I just say how grateful I am that you showed how the belt goes back on, cause you made it SOOOO much easier for me to reassemble my now heating dryer? Thank you!!

This video was amazing from start to finish as a sports mom or 4. I've never once a day in my life thought I would be taking apart my dryer and did it step by step with the video. Thanks for making. The only thing it cost me was $25 and about an hour. And my element from Amazon came with extra thermostat and other parts

Thanks a lot for the great walkthrough. I followed your steps and got it done in just about an hour without needing to unstack!

Great walk-through. Thanks. Watch out for the edges of the box around the heater - they're sharp!

Non-Pro tip: Buy white washers and dryers. Kenmore obsoleted the spider arm in my metallic green front load washer and $2500 went poof after 3-4 years. Now no more colors; no more pedestal drawers; no more bells and whistles. Just white so if one of the washer or dryer conks out, I just replace one. Thanks to CZcams and content creators for posting diy videos. Razzies to appliance manufacturers for manufacturing poorly designed appliances.

Ordered my heating element, looks simple, I'm going to try it while it is on top of the washer. Hopefully that won't be a problem.

Were you able to do it while it was on the washer?

Awesome video!! I'd love to attempt this but I live in a condo without much space & I don't have the tools. It would be great if I could take it to a space with tools & some help to complete the repair. I could easily buy a new dryer but I don't like adding to landfill for no reason. I called 2 appliance repair companies & they won't return my calls after I tell told them that the unit is stacked on a washer & it's in a closet. I offered to help move it.

Yes, you can repair it while the dryer is on top of the washer. Of course you would need tools and a stepladder to take off the top of the dryer. If you’re able to repair, just be careful with sharp edges.

@@appliance63 Thanks. It's in a closet. To access the back of the machine to remove the top cover might be a little difficult, but I can squeeze back there to do it I think. I appreciate the heads up on the sharp edges. I think I'll remove the dryer from the washer & find a willing repair tech. The dryer worked fine for 10 years but has given me intermittent heat for the last 3 loads & has now stopped heating but tumbles fine. I was curious about the internal workings of the machine & your video has laid it out well.

There should be brackets that attached to the dryer and washer on the back you won’t be able to access the screws without pulling the washer and the dryer on top of it out of the closet.

@@appliance63 The repair tech was able to service my dryer while it was stacked like you said. The issue with my dryer is the control panel, but the part it is no longer manufactured. Would you happen to have any suggestions?

@John-wh8mt Not really other than get the part number and look everywhere for yourself if you haven’t done already. Also try Searspartsdirect.com And eBay if you wanna take a chance with them.
