  • Super-Rich and Surrounded by Poverty: India's New Billionaires | ENDEVR Documentary
Watch 'The Rise of the Global Super-Rich and the Fall of Everyone Else' here: • The Rise of the Global...
There are now more billionaires in India than there are anywhere else in the world, excluding China and America. From glitzy Bollywood weddings and luxury yachts, to building gigantic towers and palaces and holidaying around the world, these new Maharajahs compete with each other to spend more. Although the majority of Indians live below the poverty line, these select billionaires live off of the riches of the country’s growing economy. Not only do we follow the glamorous side of this high life, but we also uncover how many are getting away with tax evasion and money laundering. We immerse ourselves in the lives of billionaires with very different profiles: from rich heirs to the self-made men. What difficulties do they face in getting to the top? During this 6-month long investigation, we infiltrate this tightly knit circle of India’s new billionaires.

A look at the mega rich in India. They do exist and it seems they’re just as excessive and happy to flaunt their wealth as other filthy rich people all around the world. Crazy rich Indians are featured today. And the reason we show this: so you maybe vote for representatives who at least try to tackle the problem of tax evasion. Enjoy.

They are women to be admired not those spoiled rich boys who inherited their wealth who are fueled by greed and constant self-indulgence. 40 million children under the poverty line is shameful while wealthy kings don't pay their fair share or ANY taxes. I visited a relative's house in Karachi and it was a 5-6 bedroom house made of white marble and complete with an indoor waterfall and a garden with chickens and a peacock. The kids inside were playing video games, while the ones down the block were selling toys on the street. Lots of new luxury developments by the sea (Emaar) and in the hills (Bahria Town) are coming up in a city where people fight over water and electricity. To me Kalpana is a real hero. The rich boy - I have my doubts- I think he is spoil brat, because most of the rich family in asia try to present their children as hugely successful while the parents themselves take care of the business. Because I know about labor behavior in asia - they might be cheap but they productivity is super low without close management supervision which cannot be replaced by recruited management. And the software business - the way he is briefing his employees, doesn't work that way. Most of the software projects either come from abroad or government where a close liasion is super important. Staying 2/3 of the year abroad you cannot manage those business. His parents just don't want their relatives to know about his mischief hence they send his abroad. Kalpana on the other hand who build her empire all by her hands and she still stays very close to her roots. Most of the people after becoming rich forget their past and relations. Her aunts surprised me even more, who still living such a simple life. Big salute to those ladies.

The things I could do to help millions which would bring me more happiness than any amount of money could ever give me. On the other hand, I’d be disgusted knowing I had that much money because billionaires can’t exist without exploiting every other class below them. They're greedy because they can't ever have enough money. It's kind of like an addiction. Except nobody calls it that because everyone is in awe of monetary wealth as opposed to wealth of the mind, heart, and soul. Anyways, wanted to add that here. I think it fits.
