Maravilla es un excelente boxeador mediano jr que esta en el final de su carrera, y lucas es probablemente el mejor 140 libras de la actualidad, y esta en el mejor momento de su etapa profesional en el box. Dos capos del box, en distintas etapas de sus carrera se encuentran para guantear un poco, de onda. No hablen giladas.
Si Cotto entrena igual de fuerte como lo hizo contra Floyd, Cotto va ganar por TKO... ese Maravilla tiene la defensa muy abierta... miren con Matthyse llega con casi todos los golpes que tira!
a sos medio tonto... es un sparring tranquilo niguno de los 2 esta llendo fuerte.. ni con velocidad... sueltan tranqui los golpes... martinez llega a ir fuerte lo lastima a mathysse simplemente por el hecho que es un peso mediano contra un ligero.... no subiste nunca a un ring toy seguro

El cuerpo humano es un sistema global que se estabiliza en base a compensaciones. Una rodilla lesionada puede afectar los estabilizadores , el hombro y la capacidad del lado contrario(ya que asi se organizan las cadenas musculares). Un boxeo de piernas sin piernas, resulto en KO para Cotto.

De echo sergio le sacaba mucho peso a lucas en ese momento y no pego mucho porque estaba ayudandolo a lucas para una pelea. Yo creo que una pelea entre ellos dos maravilla se lo come. Pero lucas es uno de los mejores argentinos que tuvimos igual.

That doesn't matter. That was legit damage. It was caused by a punch from Danny which means Garcia's punches are damaging. And according to the Showtime commentators Matthysse's corner did have an end swell but they didn't use it.
They're working specific things. Martinez wants him to come forward. They agreed in advance to what they want to do. Nobody is loading up here. These guys are professinals at work. This is not a Philly gym war by any stretch.

Damn, Sergio looks so much bigger. However these two aren't that far apart on the scales. Kudos to Mathysse for having the balls to step in the with a big, faster, presumably harder punching fighter.
The only way to stop a guy from bulling his way in is to hit hard. Martinez was not trying to do that. In most sparring, you are working something specific, not trying to win the round or impose your will. There are exceptions, but clearly this was not one. This film isn't an indicator of anything really. You can't draw conclusions from this. Now, from his fight with Peterson and his KO ratio - yeah, you can determine he's a heavy handed 140 pounder.
If he wasn't hurt then he was definitely intimated by Matthysse's power! Right after he dropped Lucas, he still chose to go back. And Matthysse hit Danny with a right hand a couple seconds after the action continued and Garcia clinched right away. Either he was hurt or intimated. But I think he was hurt because he retreated and it looked like he was desperate to clinch Lucas.

Important Caveat about this sparring session: this was right after the Martinez-Chavez fight, so no doubt Martinez' knees were messed up at this point-remember he had to get surgery around this time. As for Matthyse, I like the guy and want him to destroy Garcia, but I have a bad feeling Garcia is gonna win.

I did too, and I think Martinez is almost done. A shame, because I like him. But like everyone, he's starting to slow down. You don't get faster with age, I'm sorry to say. And he's coming off surgery... he's a bit beat up now. Still can compete, but yeah, I though Murray won and I won't be surprised if Martinez loses his next fight or two - if he has one.
