    I can't understand why you would opt for a sunroof if you track your car often, especially when opting for the competition package. Actually, I can't understand why anyone would opt for a sunroof at all in an m3/m4 when a carbon roof is standard. It's far better looking and it lowers the center of gravity. Oh grief, I guess I'm just being cynical again. +1 for a great video as always

  • @luimarco
    @luimarco Před 8 lety +23

    ZCP Package it totally worth it, it is a Debugged M3, M suspension hugely improved and way more power than the 19 bhp advertised , it is literally 35 to 40 whp as per dynos made by EAS and huge torque bump down low

      no M3 Here, still m235i , M3 & M4 are too large for me now , better wait and invest in a 911 . i love the S55 Engine but the platform is just too big

    Not getting the carbon fiber roof on a m3/m4 is a big fail .

      @andresreyes5398 Před 8 lety +1

      +Burim Bunjaku I know,all I was saying was that not getting the carbon fiber roof weather its a m3 or a m4 is a huge fail and yes your right if you check the sunroof option it deletes the carbon fiber roof they are both no cost option its one or the other

    • @andresreyes5398
      @andresreyes5398 Před 8 lety +3

      seems like this kid realized that the look of the carbon fiber looks bad ass so he went and wrapped it which looks no where as good as the carbon fiber roof ... There is a reason why ones with sunroofs sit on dealer lots useless it's been a special order most m3/m4 buyers want that carbon roof.

    Are you sure that that is the MPE exhaust? The competition package will burble even without the optional M Performance Exhaust. The change in sound is all tuning. I have 2 videos on my channel showing the burble tuned in by VF Engineering's "Hex Tune" on a stock exhaust and on an MPE.

    The CP does not come with the M-Performance exhaust. It is fitted with a "sports" exhaust, which is a variation of the standard exhaust. The car in the video is simply fitted with the "sports" exhaust that comes standard with the CP.
    The M-Performance exhaust is a different design altogether with the rear muffler made of titanium and replaces the mid resonator with an H-pipe. It can be ordered either with titanium tips or carbon fibre tips, which both look much better than the blacked out standard tips of the CP "sports" exhaust. The M-Perfromance exhaust can also be added to the CP for even more aural experience ;o).

    the reason why the m3 feels more comfortable is probably because of the carbon brakes which are way lighter and remove unsprung mass. imho though, they're still not worth it as they cost a fortune to replace, which is something you're going to do frequently if you drive on track

    Completely disagree regarding the CCBs. maybe his are mushy from track use but mine are much different than the standard brakes. I owned a 2015 with regular brakes and now a 2016, huge difference in stopping performance. Also, mine don't speak at all, they are quiet as a mouse, I have 7k miles on my 2016, no squeaking. The pedal feel is more stiff and sensitive with my CCBs and they stop like nothing I've ever experienced.
    Your experience is surely jaded and not accurate, I find them worth it for different reasons as I don't track my car, for instance, try keeping those satan wheels clean with the standard brakes......
    The only issue I have with the CCBs is that when wet they tend to lose braking power until the water is evaporated and they bite down, yes Ive driven in the rain and have to adjust my braking but they still work.
    Otherwise, great review.

    lol 145mph on the straight doesn't make it a "tight technical track"... I've only gotten slightly faster than that in my M3 at COTA and Nat'l Corvette museum (max-straight configuration), and at Memphis international which uses a drag strip for a lot of the straight.... 145 is still pretty darn quick in a short distance speaking of tracks! I think Sonoma is only like 120 or 130mph tops. Laguna Seca is only like 120-130ish and LS isn't really a "tight, technical" track. sorry - i'm nit-picking. nice driving anyway, you clearly do know how to drive :)

      +Nick Murray fair point...as for Ceramic brakes...I was chatting to a BMW worker at the BMW Pga Golf event recently where they had an M4 GTS displayed. He mentioned that the CC brakes did outlast standard brakes nearly 3x over after heavy track and demo use of the GTS. Which kind of makes me think the advantage for a road user is the replacement of pads/discs would be far less frequent of the standard brakes.

    Hey Neck - you have a sticker of Pinocchio on your car. Also - any chance of some Wagner in an upcoming video? Re the M-diff, any difference to yours? Pardon the unintentionally intentional pun.

      yes to the Wagner, just need to find some that is not copywrite and there are differences they say but without being on a track I think it would be very hard to spot

    Hi Nick, Do you often have road chips on your M4 front bumper? (The little scratches done by flying debris and rock while driving). Every time i washed my car, new scratches appeared on my front bumper, which drives me crazy. If you experience the same, how do you solve the problem, Thanks!

    • @NickMurray
      @NickMurray  Před 8 lety

      No but I have the clear bra, which I think everyone should get, BMW paint is so soft it is hopeless without it.

    Nick would the fact that its a 4 door affect the comfort at all?

    I didn't get the competition package on my M3 because although I wanted the better sounding exhaust, I hate the look of the 20" wheels, hate the look of the front seats and couldn't really care about an extra 20 or so BHP on a car that already has 430 BHP.

    I wonder if maybe the stiffness of your car is a result of two doors vs four? Just spitballin here

    Am I the only one that thinks the comp package wheels look awful? Maybe if they were powder coated black, but I think the 19s on Nick's look incredible. I cannot believe those are what the M division landed on for a comp package.
