  • I did not find videos of someone pulling a Mercedes Benz engine from the hood, it was usually from the bottom but it was not that difficult to do. I hope this helps someone thinking of replacing the engine. Over all this was not that hard. This is a 2014 C250 with a 1.8L turbo.

Thanks for the video! Really helpful for me as Im also replacing the engine on my w204 c180, it looks like you have the exact engine as mine. The guy I bought it from took it to a mercedes dealership and they said the engine needed replacement as the timing chain had broken.

Thank you. Have had continuous problems with my engine since the car was new ( 2014 ) now they say I need a new engine for $ 13,800 . I towed my car outta there, its at a reputable engine shop now. They havnt looked at it yet. See what happens. I appreciate the video.

@@username_afI’ve got a 2012 C250 Sedan RWD and thinking about doing the same to mine rather than pay mechanic for labor. Was it a smooth process getting it back running after the replacement, or did you run into any issues before getting it to start? I’m confident I can complete the steps in your video so long as I prepare the proper tools and document/record the disassembly down to the last bolt to ensure I reassemble everything correctly.
But I’m reading things like, “The C250 has a sophisticated electrical system, including sensors, wiring harnesses, and the ECU (Engine Control Unit). Disconnecting and reconnecting these components without error is critical, and mistakes can lead to significant issues” and can require, “possibly even Mercedes-specific diagnostic equipment to reset the ECU and other systems after the replacement.”. Did you run into any of these issues, and did you have to be cautious with any related components or parts during the engine swap? Any advice given would be greatly appreciated thank you

Do you have a video of the reassembly/swapping of the engine by chance?

I’m thinking it never had an oil change because the oil was real thick and the texture of mud
