A Blue B40-8 on the old Bucksport Branch! -10/17/23

On October 17, 2023, I got word that OT-1 was operating down the old Bucksport Branch to Orrington with a blue B40-8 in the lashup. These heavy GE B40-8's have commonly stayed off the light branchline trackage of the Bucksport branch, and have only run to Orrington two other times, both being in early 2019 ( • First GEs Take the Buc... ). However, CSX has been slowly running out of EMD's, pushing these four axle GE's into local service around the system, this being the first one to be assigned to OT-1 in recent times. The crew was taking it quite slow with this big unit on the rough trackage, as you can see throughout the video. I hope you enjoy this chase from Orrington back to Bangor with contaminated dirt cars from the Holtrachem cleanup site!
