I use C3, I tried C6 last year as for so long i heard that the scent throw was amazing but after quite a lot of testing, I didn't find it to be any better than C3 and the frustrating fragrances I had were not improved by the change of wax. I am in Greece so we don't quite get the options you do in the Uk for wax, I keep meaning to try the kerawax soy but it has only been available here for a short time and as yet I haven't found the time to test it

Ahh I see annoying that C6 didn't work any better than C3, I've used C3 for a few things but haven't heavily tested it. Good luck with your candles and testing :D

What would you recommend for a total newbie. I’ve been doing research on all aspects but very mixed opinions on wax

Really depends what kind of candles you want to make.. pillar, container or whatever ?
If it's container wax decide if you want to do soy or paraffin. C3 wax is pretty cheap so maybe try that as a tester, I'd get some opaque vessels so you don't need to worry about glass adhesion, so yeah just play around with C3 for a little bit buy a few different wicks, some ecos, tcr & lx and have a play around. Also need to decide what size vessel you get, wick recommendations are on the websites you buy them from to give you a rough idea. Good luck, sorry about the wall of text haha :)

Hi @jasonfinney curious to know whether you got a good hot throw on these test candles

Hi there, I found the hot throw pretty good to be honest, hard to discern whether it's better than SCX wax due to the wax performing a bit differently, it never quite burns even but always catches up due to the heat in the jar.
I'm now playing around mixing it to see if I can get rid of those cauliflower textured resets.

@@suffolk.candles yeah, I found a few fragrance oils that won't throw with SCX, shame as like you say, the candles look great in clear jars. Loving the videos as a hobbiest btw 👍

@@louisegoudie Yeah it's a pain, I was convinced it was me doing something wrong temperature wise etc. But it turns out just somethings don't work together which is very annoying haha but what can you do. Thanks for the comments, glad you like the videos :)
