Lee Amos was a malign character and had a malign presence in south Manchester around the Mosside area. Both him and his sidekick, Collin Joyce, brought pure fear and terror to the area. You wouldn't want him living next door to you, trust me. The reason he was in Cat C prison was because he had been a model prisoner for the previous 15 years and had been downgraded. Anyone can play the prison system if it suits them. Fair play to him for getting a cushy Cat C prison. Unlike Charles Bronson, who is still rotting away in the basement of Wakefield, prison has been living in solitary confinement for the past 40 years and getting a good spanking off the screws every time he kicks off. If you behave like a wild animal in prison thats how they will treat you. Lee Amos chose the easy life while doing his 32-year recommended prison sentence. Im very sure he will have at various points over the past 15 years, looked in the mirror, and said i have wasted my life getting involved in this gang violence culture. what a wasted life. RIP Lee Amos.
He just played the game wouldn’t say he was a model prisoner was definitely still getting drugs flown in and sold but yes managed to keep his head down for most of it

HMP Oakwood was gonna be called Featherstone 2 as its right next door to HMP Featherstone in Wolverhampton.
Run by G4S I think and was full of "S" Offenders back in 2012 when it was opened as they shut HMP Shrewsbury.
Not a nice prison, lots of bang up and no work when it first opened.
I was at Featherstone (House Block 7) and one of our Governers transferred there.
Loads of lads asking for transfers, but it was him that said it was sh*te!!
Most of hmp Shrewsbury locals, stoke, Telford, go Dovegate now
That brings back memories, I was an apprentice Bricklayer back in the 70s and working at HMP Featherstone.

Its got two high fences and loads of cameras its far from an open prison i often ride past it on the summer months when i go mountain biking theres a old MOD place next to it used to make weopens for tanks etc

Not really funny i wouldn't say, but he was a decent dude, i don't blame him for not being runny or cheery all the time, you can't expect him to be happy and cheery with the time they had.

No mate he was doing his best to keep his head down and move to a lower category prison and had done quite well because he had about 15 years still left of his prison sentence and he was already in a cat c prison, that says a lot about him and his progress, and in someway it just showed how much he regretted his sentence because like i said he had a big chunk of his sentence left and he was already in cat c prison and even after he reached the end of the sentence it was no guarantee that he was going to get his parole and sau his knocked back once he would already be in his 60s before his first parole technically at the end of your life span. But personally I feel that the documentary they made on them the GMP made him think hard and it broke him mentally, obviously he wouldn't talk about it but one can put 2n2 together, i don't know what else to say its just pure stupidity to go around killing people because you gonna get caught and your going to be doing a big bird its that simple.
