- I have some things to say about magic the gathering and WOTC if I am going to come back. (no of course that letter isn't real)

Funny how 160k subscribers and an impending recession can make people change their minds and priorities.... despite the cynicism, it is good taking acceptance of not only your own negativities but for gracefully accepting an olive branch which was offered in good faith (as they didn’t need to do) it is honourable they have taken brave steps in an adult manner for the good of the hobby

The only reason anyone should really be banned is cheating, or having bad behavior at the local lgs.

Honestly.
Of which 'professionals' have been caught multiple times in tournaments doing and yet havent been.
I'm not saying that i dont get why they banned Jeremy, they probably took one look - saw how bad bashing a woman looks for PR even if what being said is false, and wanted to cut ties with Jeremy, going overboard on their end and banning him outright.
End of the day, they're a company and public image is worth more than being right these days.
My gripe with them is their lack of consistency/integrity.
They readily banned Jeremy but didnt hesitate to draw out and defend the ring of registered sex offenders within their judge program.
Probably because it hits too close to home and one of 'our people' couldn't possibly do that, right?
Between the judges program debacle and other people in their community being outwardly toxic, yet recieving no ban it makes it clear they are playing sides and picking favorites.
It would be justifiable if they were to ban Jeremy and made a clear "No toxicity or bashing others in the community" stance and do it across the board and been justified.
A "We want to prosper a holistic community without toxicity and so will be banning people who are outwardly such to others in the community" stance.
That's fair in what is considered a kids game where the core of their game is the community and the influx of new players - toxicity driving them out.
But they didn't do that, they picked and chose who to ban and who not to and it certainly had a leaning to one group in particular.

Kerri, Im like you. I haven't touched magic since mid march cause everything closed down around that time here. Even though I can never play enough paper Magic because of obligations, I love paper.
Unfortunately, playing face to face means that the face is attached to a poor excuse for a human.

Do NOT bend the knee to WoTC and sacrifice your stance for whatever pittance they are offering you. I completely understand the apology, but that's where it needs to stop. I sincerely hope that you don't become a marketing outlet for WoTC. That company has fundamental issues that can't be forgotten because they're struggling and attempting to rebuild bridges they burned.

True nobility does not come from superiority over others, but from being superior to one's former self. Three years may not be a long time for a middle aged person, however it is still more than enough time to learn, change one's perspective or exerience remorse.

Its not WOTC that put the price on it that's the game store that is deciding to sell it for that forca limited product that he is getting so his video on the product saying WOTC is charging that price is a bit over the top.
This whole thing is weird. After 16 years of loving the game, story, characters, art, etc., I think I'm finally done with it. Quality has tanked in every one of those categories, not to mention cardstock.
Wizards has turned Magic into a mainstream, SJW, Marvel-wannabe cringefest. Considering I started with blocks like Odyssey, Onslaught, and Mirrodin, the new blocks just make me sick. It has no soul.
Neo-WOTC has been an extremely poor steward of this national treasure.

Jeremy, I have backed him a lot in the past. Many criticisms of WotC were well deserved. The HUGE change that judges and TOs have to be background checked was ESSENTIAL to the servival and safety of the community.

thata was the era I started following you, as harsh as you may have been, the result of screening/bg checks, means the sacrifice was 1000% worth it(I have daughters that play and a clean judge program warms the heart of this guy thats been playing since unlimited. from bottom of my heart THANK YOU
This could not have been an easy video to make. Admitting ones faults is never easy and I am glad to hear that you are back and willing to offer an olive branch to those you might have offended. I switched to star realms and other games long ago and haven't looked back. I still have all my magic stuff which I started collecting in the early 90s and I will keep all of it because the memories of my youth.
Magic is still a great game created by a great man. Wizards has nothing to do with its success. Enjoy your cards and enjoy the game in spite of them. :)

I left because of WOTC becoming very SJW oriented. And the cost was way to much for me over the past few years. If they get their shit together I'll think about spending my hard earned money on cardboard. I love the content and look forward to this adventure.

maybe their increasing bad reputation has finally forced them to make these kind of plays... it's likely monetarily motivated as per usual.
My favorite part of MTG events is that we all come from vastly different backgrounds, vastly, but we all come together for the love of one of the most fun and communal games and community.
I do think you deserve an unbanning. Fresh start, for both sides.

When I started out playing the game, yours was the first mtg channel I absorbed content from, I was very sad to see you go after all the drama back then. So seeing you give this another shot feels good. Having played mtg with a playgroup from all reaches of the political spectrum I find it hard to see why that would matter. As long as people can accept the simple idea that anyone can hold their own beliefs and can bring up the decency to respect that and don't enforce their own beliefs on eachother, we can treat echother as friends/fellow players instead of rightwing this or leftwing that. Anyways... glad to see you back Jeremy :D

I still dont think he needs to be banned, but this at least makes me believe that there may be hope in the future that theyll come all the way back around and repeal that.

Well I be damned. Never thought in a thousand years that Jeremy and WotC would bury the hatchet. Great news in these times and great news for lovers of UM like myself. Cant wait for the new content and I am purchasing Ikoria because of this.
no offence but what does politics have to do with going to your local game store and play mtg, it's somewhat irrelevant, two entirely different topics. It's like an unwritten rule don't bring it up at the dinner table, same with religion, I come from a very religious household but I've never felt uncomfortable participating in public gatherings nor project my personal beliefs on others, it's just common decency

It takes a big person to apologize understand what they've done and I see that that's kind of being done with both sides with you and Wizards and to me personally yeah there was some things I didn't like about the whole conflict but you know what I watched because I like the content and like you said sometimes things just got a little out of the hand because the Heat of the Moment and that happens you know we do things and then we grow up and and move on from other things that we've done in the past because that's life that's being an adult that's how we move forward and I'm glad your back into the community I really enjoyed your Insight and your opinions toward certain things which made me a better player overall consumer and I'm glad things can start to rebuild again and it's a new world out there in Magic and I think you're going to enjoy it thanks for coming back

Beard I think I've said this to you before but in case I haven't, it might have been Deselator when he goes off on this same topic. Historically you are correct its better for businesses to not take a political stance. However as the Boomers and Gen X age out of being the Target Market and are replaced by Millennials and Gen Z, you are going to see most businessses both Left and Right leaning take a stance on political issues. The reason for this is simple, younger gens view staying out of these issues as weakness and they don't want to give money to companies they view as weak. Again that holds true for both Left and Right leaning companies.
I used to dislike you a lot and post a lot of bad comments but I think you made a huuge move and I really like what you did here!
All I saw were some cheap words followed by a plea for free advertisement for their curved cardboard. An actual apology would have started with them unbanning you. This might seem like a grand magnanimous gesture to Jeremy, but I don't think it looks that way to the rest of us. The LGS sells a lot of other stuff which could be promoted.
I wasn't actively watching the magic CZcams community when all this went down, but I enjoy your videos on The Quartering. I'm excited to see you back in the magic community!

I just wanted to say you have made me very happy with this video. I am someone who has been on your side of everything, followed your videos, defended you to my friends that disliked you. But I did see your growing bitterness as a serious issue. I am so glad that you decided to make this video. Good job. I really hope you get the lifetime ban lifted even if you never want to play sanctioned magic again.

I'm conservative and from the Midwest. My entire play group and there's about five of us is left leaning, But I'm accepted. It's not as weird as you might think with our age group it's called being normal.

It's weird that you'd make a genuine apology but add that joke at the beginning with the made-up letter from WOTC.
Did the description always read that it was fake? Because it comes off as him trying to make it seem real then. I thought it was when I first listened to this video. Came back here to listen to it again and I still dont hear a joke. It sounds like hes saying yes they wrote him. He even opens a fancy letter at the start. It's just very weird.

His gender based attacks muck raking and other issues like defending the linking of the Keckistan flag to magic the gathering in a game store. Attacking WOTC because they did not want their brand associated with that was idiotic. A flag that was a combines elements of a Nazi battle flag and associated with the ALT right.
