Performing since 1996, the Backwater Blues Band has established itself as one of the San Diego area’s top blues bands.
Playing authentic Rock N Blues, Soul Blues, Funk, originals, Classic Rock Blues, R&B, and even some Outlaw Country in their repertoire, the band is comprised of members with a rich history in the San Diego music scene. These include Tom Stewart, Jimmy Woodard, Peter Harrison, Rob Lamonica, Nathan Brown, as well as guest artists Walter Gentry, Jonny Viau, Michele Lundeen, John Nevolo and many others. They have served as host band and producer of the Baja Blues Fest for 9 years, and have supported shows for such world renown artists as John Lee Hooker, Delbert McClinton, Fabulous T-Birds, Coco Montoya, Tommy Castro, John Nemeth, Nick Schnebelen, Mike Schermer, and Marcia Ball. Founding member and band leader Tommy Stewart has performed with some of the top Blues artists around the world and has been performing on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise for 14 years, running Pro /Am Jams.
