"Keeping it oem" is stupid. Unless you like replacing injectors, balljoints, tierods, fan clutches endlessly. However I am a big fan of upgrading engineering mistakes that are so prevalent with the big three.
There's a u shaped bracket that protects the wiring from the fan. If your truck doesn't have that bracket, reroute the wiring. Mine has that bracket so I'm not messing with it other than to replace the clutch.
Where is the transducer for the fan? My ac has great pressures but only cools when it want to. Going down the road makes no difference. When I accelerate it goes warm. I have a fan problem I know. I replaced the clutch fan over a year ago. But not more than 10k miles. So I think it's something that's telling it to kick on. Soooo I'm thinking the transducer maybe. I'm going to look at the wiring tomorrow. Thx
Hey bro ,mine a sounds like a jet getting ready to take off,,,what it could be,, I just bought the truck is a 2008 ram 6.7 it looks like the fan clutch has reassunly changed
I had this happen once. Might have to move them. No I can't get the clutch to engage on its own. Programmer can make it engage but over heats when in traffic or pulling a load.
@@Betokillz I'm in the same boat right now on my 06. The colors coming from the ecm are different then the ones on clutch side. My belt ripped the ecm connector side off... any luck?
On my 05 .. The. ;$;×&÷\ at big O broke the clip . so the plastic connectors were together .. But not all the way in / locked ..clipped not making FULL contact
Ordered the new clutch..haven't installed it yet ..but with wiring unhooked it won't fire ..running when I pulled it out from under the fifth wheel..shut it off to cool down..separated the wires ..now crank but no start
That unfortunately I do not know but if you do find a way to wire your fan clutch so the fan runs all of the time just keep in mind your fuel mileage will drop due to an additional load on the engine.
Did you figure it out? I know truck switches ground for lock up. And i know there's a 5volt signal wire. Best I could find was pin 2 was sensor ground and pin 6 is fused power supply (12v?) So throw a switch on one and i think it will work? Takes somewhere between 40 seconds and 15 minutes for fan clutch to lock up....

Yeah he lost me there. I've been rebuilding my 08 3500, soooo much OEM junk. And non heavy duty parts.

So that it turns faster as well as when you use the climate or air conditioning
My wires got in my fan also does that mean the fan clutch is no good now because I was just going to rewire it
How did you lengthen the wires from the oem wiring harness. My wires were cut and colors don’t match.

Lost me at keepin it oem. Soooo much stuff on the 3rd gens have junk oem parts.
