Thank you for sharing. I like that you bring up intentions. I often start with the colors that I want to work with and then branch out from there. Some thought provoking ideas, can't wait to get back to the canvas!

Thank you for this video, David, it is super useful - I get stuck now and then in my abstract paintings but I'll use this excellent advice from now on.

Thank you for sharing this, I am feeling very stuck at the moment and you have given me something to think about. I don't seem to be able to finish anything atm, but hopefully this block will go soon.

Thank u for all this information that make me developpe my self every day i just want to ask how to balance ur work (dark vs light ,big vs small .....)

madrid Hamma I think balancing your work is subjective and each artist has a different approach. I think you have to determine what works for you. I’m not trying to dodge the question, I just believe there is no universal answer. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching "What to do when You're Stuck on a Painting." Do you get stuck when painting? Do you have a method to evaluate your work? Do you have intentions before beginning a painting?

Like you, I do not get stuck during any painting. I do lock up occasionally with the concept, but once I get to putting paint on canvas, it comes pretty easily. I make crap paintings too. Hah! They get sent out for "re-education". That means they get painted over. I also do a lot of indexing early to see which way it is reading. Thanks again for the advice, I find it inspiring.
