This video was filmed by Chris Mak in the late 1990s. I believe this is the Hoverspeed which ran only between Dover and Calais. And I also believe this is the Princess Margaret which operated between Dover and Calais. The Princess Margaret was built in 1968 by the British Hovercraft Corporation for Seaspeed, and the machine was stretched in 1977. The craft was sold to Hoverspeed when the company commenced operations in 1981. This hover craft was withdrawn in 2000 and reported as scrapped at the Hovercraft Museum at HMS Daedalus in 2018. An impressive monster. Showed great promise but didn’t quite make it.
Having seen this video I regret that I never had a chance to have a ride on one. It does look impressive for sure .. like an aircraft experience of some sort.
@@JetFlix Reminds me of a 1970’s made for TV movie where there was some resort in the middle of the desert. They transported the people out there in something similar to it. It had all of the amenities of a cruise ship. Can’t remember the title of this movie.
