This set arrived today and all I can say is WOW! Definitely no shortage in sub bass and mid bass slam, but so textured and detailed, not bloated or muddy at all. With the volume turned up, upper mids and treble have such high resolution and crispness without the sibilance that usually comes with that amount of detail. Thanks for the rec!
So the upper mids and treble are good then? I was gonna go for the l8s but if the v11 does everything so well I'd rather just save money and get them
@@roguegorilla8981 no shortage of treble but only if you listen at higher volumes. Bass overpowers the rest of the frequency range at lower volumes.

What's the isolation like? I need a good all BA set with the best passive isolation. I've been spoiled by etymotics and ANC on TWS sets so when I use my wired DD or hybrids and I hear outside sounds it's kinda annoying. Have you tried Tangzu Sancai tips on the V11? If yes did it reduce the bass/alter sound in any way or pressure in the ear?

I wish you'd do a basshead video comparing v11 vs turbo vs neo5 vs t800. All different price points some same. Very different drivers. All out wars. Those videos will be far more informative & entertaining too. & not to mention help us plebs who are confused as hell 😂

Things I've learned about tweaking sets by listening to Akros...
1. The right tips (wide-bore) may open up mid/high freqs
2. Silver cables may help brighten mids/highs, de-emphasize bass
3. In extreme cases, EQ is an option to massage FR
4. Brighter sources may pair well with this type of set
FYI 11-11 (less than a month away) provides strong discount opportunities for sets like this
Nice! Got a silver cable to brighten up the Kbear Rosefinch and I love it. I've been ready for 11/11 since April. 😂 BTW it's not only wide boar to open up mids, sometimes wide boar fk up the mids and everything else. Something I've learned after getting hooked on tip rolling, to an OCD level. I try any and all tips, from cheap to ridiculous. I just got some generic tips from AE, 6pair for $1. 3.8mm which are on the narrow side of medium and they opened up the mids, highs and Soundstage, while also tightening up the bass on several IEMs that I recently had wide boar on. Also Tony's ears like Kbear 07s. Ive only liked those tips on 1 or 2 sets. They are medium boar, not wide. The key which you said is "the right tips" and it's very subjective. To add to you lr list about tips learned from our professor 😎 is to keep an open mind, don't prejudge anything. The Ole don't judge a book by its cover rule. And EQ is always your friend if you'll have it. Some people in this community hate EQ. I'm a huge fan. I'm always toying with EQ. Also leads to OCD issues. Dangerous this hobby is. Haha

I'm thinking this should actually pair nicely with my 41T that could be handling all the "gentle" music with all the bangers delegated to V11. But yeah, DIP switching would be good to have indeed.
Completely unrelated to this review-I finally listened to Black Coffee on my filter modded v80 after hearing you talk about thier basslime so much 😂 they're great! Still listening an hour later. After testing a ton of mods on V80, I settled on the nozzle filters I permanently borrowed from my SGOR VENUS. Sound was greatly improved but after re-watching your TRN bonanza video got inspired to EQ it using Black Coffee as my control. Sounds so good, I -think- I'm happy enough to stick with this set up. Though I'll probably tip roll with every new set of tips tht get into my hands. Something wrong with me, lol. Anyway just wanted to let you know you inspire us out here in interwebs land. I love loud music. I probably have hearing damage but I'm 52 and still a light sleeper. So I guess these ears are still holding up.
Wow that is an interesting all-BA graph for the V11. I imagined the ivipQ offerings were going to be "copycats" of Kiwi Ears, but not so. I agree with your input for ivipQ, perhaps 1 or 2 DIP switches and some nicer packageing could make a real winner
Well then, I guess I'm going to need to keep an eye on this store during 11.11. I love bass and shy away from treble gain, so this sounds perfectly up my alley. I don't need to worry about the timbre sounding wrong because of the bass boost. My ears will 100% manage to find that twang and twinkle hiding behind that bass because I'm excessively treble sensitive. Time to see if you have a review of their flagship model as well. I'm very curious about the Sonion 38 series bass, but the idea of their 2DD sub-bass and mid-bass intrigues me as well.
Update: I have ordered these and am currently looking forward to their arrival.
I got the v11 in today and i can hardly even tell its a ba in the bass. Also maybe its just me but it has plenty of energy up top. I listen to metal though so i dont like a very energetic iem. This is my first all ba set. I also have the Sliivo slt6 on its way

Man the Turbo is interesting and frightening at the same time. Isn't that difference between lower and higher mids makes them mega shouty?

How does V11 sound with wide bore tips, Tony? I would think that wide bore tips would help balance out the lower and upper ends a bit.

Does the l8s have as good as bass as the V11?
Hi Tony, it appears something has happened to this IEM in the production line. My unit and the unit of someone else on Head-Fi is light on bass. I measured my unit and the bass boost is about 5dB less than yours while the upper mids have been boosted by 5dB. It's basically a completely different IEM. The IvipQ person on AliExpress is checking on this but have you heard anything about this?
I have no way of graphing my set but if I had to guess it's the same tuning as Tony's set. I got my V11 like 2 months ago I think. I can tell the bass is definitely more than 5db
@@roguegorilla8981 Oh yeah I've been meaning to make a video about this on my channel. It seems to be kind of all over the place. Someone over on Head-Fi has one that's ridiculously V-shaped, mine is really lean, and another person on Head-Fi also got a lean unit. I discovered that if I use mine with an 80 Ohm impedance adapter I get almost exactly the FR that IvipQ advertises.
Do you buy all the sets you review?

@@FunFreakeyy If that comment is for me, I have a $100 budget for a friend. He let's me pick out his IEMs and listen for a bit before I hand them over. My collection so far is all budget. I wait for sales so I can stack coupons, average cost around $10. I'm happy with my collection but wouldn't mind having a few higher budget sets 😜 for now I have no idea what a $100 set sounds like, much less a $1000 IEM! I did just splurge on the t10 which I got for $36 with birthday money. Luxury buy for me!! Almost double the cost of my most expensive $20 set up til now. I'm pretty sure I never said $1k so maybe it's the other person you're talking too. Lol
@@someoneusa No it was for OP shashank, I saw his other comment under another video and thought it was funny to say too broke for this hobby while having a UM Mest 2 (1800$ new) and want to invest in new IEMs for 1k$. 😁
My most expensive audio gear are my speakers for 340€ then 130€ headphones, I'll never buy IEMs for more than that but that's my preferece of course.
