Hmm… this time round I think I have to say the Voltage I listen to may not be as impressive as Butastur and Penon 10 that I blind buy due to your review will turn up to be great . Voltage to me (the one I listen to) : 1. When switch to 0,0 Voltage is nothing very impressive especially in this price range. 2 when switch to 1,1 it is listenable …but doesn’t Voltage push so much forward in all areas that it can be not as satisfying to listen for a long time as Penon 10 and Butastur? Yes it definitely brings out everything (whether bass, mid and details) to the next level but imo it’s too much info all at once 3) comparing to Monarch mk3 (though I don’t really like) it still feel more cohesive and well tuned than Voltage (too much of info coming forward to me imo) Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to compare with all that was mentioned here however when you put next to Canpur , Alter Ego , z1R the coherence and musicality will be quite obviously a different from Voltage which these iems will be a big step up to me. given the price of Voltage I would say save a bit more to get a flagship. If putting Voltage with Penon 10, Butastur and Voltage. I would say for longer listening mileage , the first 2 will still be my pick. Love your videos. You've become my favorite reviewer for iems. Haven't considered doing a tiger list? Usign the sr8 for nearly 1 month and wow, I love it. Bass is tight, clean and fast. Mids are lush, forward and thick. Treble isn't shouty, sibilant nor fatiguing. A very dynamic and musical yet natural timbre iem that is so great for an all rounder. Only nitpick would be lacking in subbass and airy region. Other cons would be silent re-packaging going from padded foam to roadie wrapped. Also, I can't fit in the sr8 into the stock leather case and lacking essential cleaning accessories. Overall, I rate the sr8 an 8.8/10. If only soundrhyme let me know ahead of time prior to shipping which packaging method I prefer then I'd bump up the score a bit. All's well that ends well I suppose 🙃.

Hi Tony, it appears something has happened to this IEM in the production line. My unit and the unit of someone else on Head-Fi is light on bass. I measured my unit and the bass boost is about 5dB less than yours while the upper mids have been boosted by 5dB. It's basically a completely different IEM. The IvipQ person on AliExpress is checking on this but have you heard anything about this?

You tube is inundated with the marketed earbuds but i am curious about models like kz, fiio, moondrop, and other less marketed brand's. I will say that my favorite by far was the noble falcon pro bought used for 150 and it was amazing. I listened to all the top brands at the time. You can buy it used now for around 120

I have the age related high frequency hearig loss i believe so like the tilt towards the high mids amd highs. I know you are around the same age so i believe i hear the same as you.

I wasnt all that impressed but i tip rolled and then i turned them counter clockwise in my ear and wow then it came alive. It goes to show that its about tips and angle in the ear.

I must have got one of the thousand dollar ones. I use spinfit 100 eartips and it sounds amazing. It compares to my s12 which is saying something.

Why buy this when the ~US$55 ARTTI R1 (tripple DD) offers alloy shell and face, high quality cable, a set of white and black silicone tips (S, M, L), and semi hard/padded zipper case that is pocketable. Excellent tuning, comfortable fitment, good seal, all around a much better quality unit imho.
