- The Crusades is one of the main events in Crusader Kings 3! All of the Western Kingdoms unite under one banner and attack distant heathens! But what if... A heathen beat them to it and reconquered Jerusalem 200 YEARS BEFORE the Crusades Even started?
That's exactly what we're doing today! Playing as none other than Jarl Haesteinn, everyone's favorite Viking, Koifish will conquer his way through the Mediterranean to launch his one man crusade, conquering Egypt, Jerusalem and more!
I have made many videos where I play as the Vikings, attempting difficult Crusader Kings 3 challenges! A previous CK3 challenge I did was Erik the Heathen, where I reclaimed the Kingdom of Sweden, and brought back the DEAD FAITH to life! So join me in this Crusader Kings 3 adventure to win the crusades before they even happened, and re-form Israel in Crusader Kings 3!
I will be using all the tips and tricks and strategies that I went over in my Lifestyle guide series, mainly focusing on Martial and Learning! I'm also playing with all the current DLC, Including Northern Lords, Royal Court and Fate of Iberia! - Hry

Actually, the Pope might start wondering if the End Times are beginning because the foundation of Israel for the Jews has always been a sort of minority but know opinion in Christianity for the start of the End Times.

Haesten in his 70s tried to raid the Thames. But Ragnar was aptuted by Alfred and forcibly baptised.
Then he was given land in the Sussex area
The Haesten character in the Last Kingdom is based on him.
As for sources, its the books written by Asser again, he writes down Haestinn as Anstign which has led to speculation that the last name Austin maybe related to this

Taking over Egypt then invading Jerusalem was the strategy for the 10th crusader if memory serves.
It was also one of the only organised ones with a clear singular leader, the French King.

I once had the same start, conquered Sardinia, Crete and then Egypt. But instead of becoming Jewish I converted to islam and formed a hybrid culture. At the end I had a Greco-Egypto-Occitan-Norse culture and owned around 80 % of the whole map, then the game crashed and my ironman mode save got corrupted two months before hitting the 1453 mark. Sigh.
Great video, though, and it gave me some ideas for new campaigns! Long live Haestania!

There actually was a crusade for Egypt by the French, but they miscalculated the floods and got stranded. :/ lol
The idea was to get a proper foothold with rish holdings with which to keep the holy land for good.
I am interested in why you like Hasting so much? I love playing as Ivar and Bjorn or just make my own character. I recently played Harladr Finehair and conquered Norway.
Cant speak for Koifish but Jarl Haesteinn has a powerful army and no responsibilities, so you can basically do whatever you want with him right from day 1. He has the same "forge your own destiny" appeal as creating your own ruler, but with the added bonus of starting with thousands of troops. Also he's Norse/Asatru which is OP for religious challenges and culture hybridization.
He's essentially EZ mode for any weird idea you want to try and pull off.
