As someone who has lost a friend to s**cide, the upbeat tempo of Forever Winter actually makes sense to me. Itâs like the music captures the persons bright spirit and personality (like my friend) while the lyrics detail the struggle. Could also signify the happy face people often put on who are experiencing hard things. Also, I think the disconnect between the music and the lyrics points to the fact that outside people often think things are going fine when they really arenât.

I actually feel that Forever Winter is the perfect "please don't do it song". Ever since I heard it for the first time the music for me felt like someone screaming desperately at someone else. It just didn't feel that it could be about a partner, so when I learned it was because of her friend eveything made sense.
The lyrics are kind of obviously telling you that "my voice comes out begging/screaming...forever winter if you go", but the music's right there with them begging/screaming you to "and please don't go". They work perfectly to convey the desperation of when you don't want a loved one to give up on life.
At least when I heard it, I could perfectly picture both my best friend and my partner screaming at me to keep on trying to live. I'm a whole of a lot better now, wo no worries, just wanted to kind of give context as to why I think about Forever Winter the way I do.

I feel like Forever Winter doesnât get much appreciation. Itâs one of the few completely raw songs that Taylor has written about mental health. Personally, I would love to hear more songs from Taylor that center around mental health I mean, imagine the people she could help just by singing about it. She literally said she would be our summer sun forever.

I think Taylor might be eligible for an Oscar since the short film has been shown at a theater in New York, itâs less than 40 minutes long, and there were a couple other requirements Iâm pretty sure that were met as well. đ
since the album has had time to sink in a bit more between my first listen and this video, i cried so much more watching this than i did while listening, because i was just in absolute shock. my favorites are nothing new (no im not okay) and the acoustic version of state of grace (it just hits harder for me than the non-acoustic).

Of course the 10 min ATW is tops đ€đŒ. Iâm with you on Message in a Bottle! I also, love IBYTAM and The Very First Night! Iâm in love with those. Girl at home is so different and I love it! I didnât appreciate it before. But, lately I had started listening to more (I had the old album on my phone from when I bought it in 2012. So, no money to those who took her albums). Then her version đ€Ż Everything has changed was a little different too! There was like a choir like sound to some of the chorus. Loved it.

Another crossover you might not have noticed was the lyric in âI bet you think about meâ where she says âwhen you say, oh my god sheâs insane, she wrote a song about me, I bet you think about meâ - thereâs an interview of Taylor (that Iâm pretty sure was from the red era because she had the iconic red lipstick and red top I believe) where she tells says the interviewer something like âhe (her ex) was like âyou better not write a song about this⊠and then I wrote a whole album.â That was DEFINITELY a callback to that lyric in that song and I love that.

22 is a very well played popular song that literally everyone knows, and ofc i love it. itâs not my favorite song by her ever made, but this does hold a special place in my heart because it was the first song i ever heard by her - so if there wasnât 22 i wouldnât have ever listened to her! and iâm so thankful for it and taylor! iâm forever a swiftie!

Iâve always been a fan of Taylor swiftâŠlike as far as I can remember⊠but Iâve only ever really liked her most popular songs and nothing beyond that. Just over a year ago I had heard about red so I decided to listen to the whole album and I did t even really understand the difference between the stolen version and Taylorâs versionâŠso I didnât care. I just listened to Taylorâs version and that led me on a spiral to be more of a swiftie than you could imagine from someone my age. I LOVE your channel because you donât remind me that I physically couldnât have been around for her older eras and have helped me so much on my journey lol. I lost a parent within the week that Red TV came out and in attempt to escape from reality I hid in my room, started listening, and completely broke when I heard "Ronan" again after all these years. It was even worse listening to "BTTWS" back in October when I thought I'd finally gotten better. I'm so sorry you had and have to go through this as well†I don't often share my taste in music and there isn't really anyone in my life who relates to my love for Taylor, so watching and listening along with you again was somehow very cathartic and calming.
